WR Ricky Pearsall, SF (7 Viewers)

Rob Lowder
WR Ricky Pearsall went 3 for 3 during 1-on-1s and looked crisp. He ran a whip route that created a good five yards of separation. I *believe* it was against newly signed CB Fabian Moreau. He also reeled in a contested catch over the middle against CB Dallis Flowers. #49ers

Ricky Pearsall’s first of three catches during team drills was a bomb from Mac Jones. Pearsall got behind the entire defense on a post route. He had to slow up for the ball a bit and three defenders arrived just after he caught it.

Pearsall is building a ton of momentum. #49ers

Kevin Krueger
Kyle Shanahan on Ricky Pearsall in comparison to his rookie year:

"Ricky’s such a good football player, and he works the right way. He’s got such natural hands. Such natural route running ability and the game’s not too big for him. Ricky’s biggest thing is just being out there and being able to stack days..."

Coach Yac
Obviously it’s early into training camp, but it feels like Ricky Pearsall is having a similar camp that Brandon Aiyuk had in 2023 before he exploded during the season

Here’s the thing, Ricky Pearsall is fully healthy coming into this season and he’s building A LOT of chemistry with Brock Purdy right now with Jauan Jennings and Brandon Aiyuk both not practicing

57% target share + 0.57 targets per route run today

I’m coming around on Pearsall

First three Brock Purdy dropbacks:

1. Ricky Pearsall
2. Slick Rick recognizes soft spot in zone, cuts route short, Purdy finds him
3. Ricky again (on 3rd and 18) - Purdy gets ball out before Pearsall has his head turned

Incredibly bullish signals after first full offseason

Ricky Pearsall was in motion at the snap on 2 of 3 plays at the goal line.

Brock Purdy again targeted him before his head turned on this play 👇

His adp is rising intensely on FFC. Almost 3x the click rate versus his peers. Ultimately he will slot probably in the metcalf DJM range based on hype and rise to the 5th 6th round in shark leagues

have my only redraft auction coming up and fear his price is going to be triple the "value"

I have a really good feeling about him this year and think he could be Top 20 if he plays every game (with Aiyuk hurt no Deebo)

another guy who's ADP is going through the roof
8th round in recent redrafts I participated in, where is he now?
With not just one but maybe 2 WRs injured, Jennings was not healthy last i heard but he also wants more money
Pearsall looks like a WR that is going to work the field or down the field I should say.
Runs a 4.4 in his 40 times, fast enough and does get separation

Played in 8 games as a rookie, 4/73/TD, last 2 games of the season he posted 8/141/TD and then 6/69/TD
When he's targeted and gets catches, production seems to follow him.
I could see him posting some eye poppers the first 4-6 weeks of the season.

People finally woke up to the fact that he's primed to be Shanahan and Purdys' WR1 this year. Obviously there's risk in that he's unproven, but he has the draft pedigree and flashed big time the last three times we've seen him, including the final two games of last year and last weekend in a single drive. To get SF WR1 production in Rd 5/6 would be huge value, though again that should be tempered by the lack of established history. The problem is the tempering was way too far earlier this offseason when he was going at the 7/8 turn or in some cases much later.

Week OPP Score rec Tgt yds Y/R lg TD Points Wk Finish (PPR)
17 vs. DET L, 40-34 8 10 141 17.6 40 1 28.7 WR7
18 @ ARI L, 24-47 6 8 69 11.5 30 1 18.9 WR14

Don't forget that Pearsall was drafted at 31 overall, 1st round pick and the Niners did it that way for a reason IMHO
They've had several of their WRs wanting some big money and I think eventually they would like to see at least one of their WR positions on a rookie contract for 4-5 years
They want to see Pearsall out there and remember he was shot last year and missed a bunch of the season, came back and played a couple games then missed a few more
Only 46 targets last season, that's likely to double at least I would assume

Just reached for him in round 11 in my 10 Team IDP Redraft, maybe only 10 teams but due to large Line Ups (Start 3 WRs w 2 Flex) WRs can go fast.
Took him over the following notable WRs

Odzune: maybe more talented but too many mouths to feed in Chi
Olave: 1 hit away from never playing again
Addison: the suspension is killing his ADP
Jennings: Pearsall in the better option while Jennings is nursing his injury
Pittman: Jones being named QB helps but still rather Pearsall
Kupp: got burned last yr

This is gonna feel like Aladdin's carpet ride until jennings and Aiyuk are both back and playing, then things will get complicated

-Pearsall could be a sleeper Top 15-20 WR for the first 4-5 weeks of the season

Not so much worried about Aiyuk, he's going to be slowed and his game is dependent on speed/strength... Ricky will be WR1 by then anyway

I got him at 10.3 in a 10 team start 2RB/3WR/Flex PPR league last night. He was my WR5. I took London, Jamo, Jeudy, Odunze before him. I look him better than Jeudy and Odunze but figured he would last and he did.

Hey Kelly, I think when Aiyuk is cleared to play and he's ready that there are $120 Million reasons why the Niners will want to use him as their primary WR
I am optimistic about Pearsall, he does have a good shot to be the Niners WR1 while others are injured but I think he will slide back to WR3 when everyone is out there
He could put Jennings on the bench, they don't seem eager to want to extend him past this season
Think the Niners know who they are gonna have as their starting tandem in 2026

100%, your not wrong. But when he's out that and can only give roughly 70 to 80%; I got the feeling Prudy may not look at his other options. BA will get his, just not as much
