He's definitely good, showing it off on that RAC

Having said that, he looked fantastic today.

Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins never expected the football to be thrown his way.
Well, not on his first catch anyway.
In fairness, quarterback Patrick Mahomes never planned to throw it to him, either. Mahomes looked initially to wide receiver Tyreek Hill, but his route stayed behind the sticks on a third-down play. He next turned to tight end Travis Kelce, but Kelce was well covered.
The he hit Watkins.
The receiver took care of the rest. A defender cruised past him in an attempt to break up the pass. Too late. Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey sized him up in the secondary. No chance.
One cut, gone.
One play, and the Chiefs made a statement in their 40-26 win in Jacksonville: The offense is back.
So is Watkins. And statistically speaking, he was better than ever Sunday, setting career-highs with 198 yards and three touchdowns.
“I’ve never had a touchdown in this league to break a tackle and run (68) yards. It was great,” Watkins said.
He was aided by a key block in the secondary from wide receiver Demarcus Robinson. As Watkins then outraced the Jaguars’ defensive backfield to cap the Chiefs’ opening drive, Mahomes turned to the sideline to celebrate. He didn’t need to see the entire path to the end zone — he knew how it would finish.
“The best thing about this offense is it seems like if we can make one guy miss and the guys get open space, they usually score,” Mahomes said. “So once I saw him make (Ramsey) miss, and it was just a foot race, I knew he was going to get there.”
On the sideline, players joked with Watkins that it was as if he was back to his Clemson days. They intended to refer to the speed he showed on the 68-yard touchdown, the game’s longest play. But it’s applicable elsewhere, too, in signs that perhaps suggest there could be more days like this ahead.
Watkins caught nine of his 11 targets, a career day when the Chiefs played three quarters without Hill, who left the game early with a shoulder injury. On multiple occasions, Watkins made defenders whiff after the catch.
He looked healthy, sure. For a player who has battled injuries throughout his career, that would be the easy explanation.
Too easy, he said.
The biggest difference between Sunday, when Watkins scored three touchdowns, and his 10 games last season, when he totaled just three? Knowledge.
“Last year, I felt like I really didn’t know my role in the whole offense,” he said. “I couldn’t go out there and play fast. This year, (I’m) just trusting it.”
Too much thinking during a game. Watkins pinpointed that problem during the offseason. As a result, he did more prep work, studying plays and gaining a better connection with Mahomes.
That showed up in his final touchdown. The route spanned only three yards, his shortest score of the three. But Ramsey had him covered initially. Mahomes looked specifically for Watkins and was patient enough to allow him to make a move.
Watkins created just enough separation for a bullet pass to the near corner.
“He really understands the offense at a different level than he did last year,” Mahomes said. “So whenever he got his number called, he made plays.”
Today?...after that game?....morein dynasty...what his value right now? 2020 1st?
Andy Benoit @Andy_Benoit
The #Chiefs film showed what was already plain to see: Sammy Watkins is quicker and faster than last year.

Wat? Y'all know Reek doesn't need surgery and will be back in a month. If you can sell him for a 1st right now, hurry up and hit accept.King of the Jungle said:Today?...after that game?....more
FF is a recency hobby....all I am saying is that owners will want more....not necessarily that he is worth more. Not sure Reek is back within a month though.Wat? Y'all know Reek doesn't need surgery and will be back in a month. If you can sell him for a 1st right now, hurry up and hit accept.
Posted on my message board Watkins is available (16 team PPR, IDP dynasty) and that I need at least a 2020 1st and got 4 offers within a couple hoursWat? Y'all know Reek doesn't need surgery and will be back in a month. If you can sell him for a 1st right now, hurry up and hit accept.
Interesting - what were the offers like?Posted on my message board Watkins is available (16 team PPR, IDP dynasty) and that I need at least a 2020 1st and got 4 offers within a couple hours

Yeah, last night it was 3-4 weeks. Woke up and it's 4-6.FF is a recency hobby....all I am saying is that owners will want more....not necessarily that he is worth more. Not sure Reek is back within a month though.
ARob?Players A and B are the same age
Player A has 240 catches for 3750 yards and 31 TDs in 63 games.
Player B has 304 catches for 3550 yards and 24 TDs in 56 games.
Both players have a fairly significant injury history that has caused them to miss time.
One of these players is a dynasty late 2nd or early 3rd round startup pick worth multiple first round rookie picks, and the other guy is an obvious bust who we are debating whether he is even worth a single rookie first.
One of these players was a very high NFL draft pick, and the other was not....
Diggs.ARob?
Seems your game can be used to make another point as well.Diggs.
did you watch the game? I get the injury risk bit, but the dude looks absolutely electric. There was talk that the Chiefs figured out his injury woes and that he was having a fantastic camp.If I'm getting the kind of returns being presented above, I'm selling Watkins in a heartbeat. (ie: multiple 2020 picks, including at least one first.)
He's perpetually overvalued and has seldom produced at a rate commensurate with his draft position.
He's a near lock to miss time, too.
We need to scale back- one week of exemplary production does not offset several years of underperformance.
I did see a chunk of the game. He's a great talent but his history is replete with consistent underperformance relative to the cost required to obtain him.did you watch the game? has that really been the case over the last few years...?...what was it taking to get him really.... even this year.....drafters have pushed his ADP down because of those very reasons (injuries), so he almost seems like a guy you could capitalize on this year because he was had fairly cheap and could give you league winning production combined with the talent you should have been able to acquire before having to draft him ......I did see a chunk of the game. Perhaps he can shake that this year- he is certainly well positioned to do so. Personally, I'm wary and would sell (I have no shares this year) if given some off the generous offers previously alluded to in this thread.
If you look at his adp historically and compare it to his actual production, the return on investment is underwhelming.has that really been the case over the last few years...?...what was it taking to get him really.... even this year.....drafters have pushed his ADP down because of those very reasons (injuries), so he almost seems like a guy you could capitalize on this year because he was had fairly cheap and could give you league winning production combined with the talent you should have been able to acquire before having to draft him ......![]()

Strong move, people will be chasing week 1 all year.ended up moving him for a 2020 1st and 3rd
Yes, he really did look electric. That was fun to watch... however , the other two points really don't help your cause much:did you watch the game? I get the injury risk bit, but the dude looks absolutely electric. There was talk that the Chiefs figured out his injury woes and that he was having a fantastic camp.
59 yards per game with this QB.The targets are there but the pay dirt isn't. Almost a better start once Tyreek returns? Thing is, you can't really bench the guy with this QB.
Unfortunately, including it. 14 games in KC (Mahomes), 59 yards per...Disregarding game 1?
Sammy Watkins caught 5-of-8 targets for 64 yards in the Chiefs' Week 3 win over the Ravens.
For the second straight week it was Watkins who lead the Chiefs' receiver corps in targets, but Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman who got the glory. Watkins now has a respectable but quiet 11/113/0 over his past two games. He has done that on 21 targets, so his usage has remained a positive. Fantasy players will have to keep firing Watkins up as a WR1/2 for next week's road trip to Detroit.

Sammy Watkins chipped in with three catches for 54 yards on six targets Sunday in Kansas City’s Week 4 victory over Detroit.
Watkins had an exploitable matchup against a banged-up Lions secondary (they were without their top corner, Darius Slay) but couldn't take advantage of it. He had a couple red-zone opportunities spoiled by Justin Coleman and also coughed up a fumble in the third quarter, one of three turnovers committed by Kansas City. Despite ample usage, Watkins has mostly been a non-factor since his Week 1 blowup (9-198-3 on 11 targets). With Tyreek Hill (broken collarbone) reportedly on the mend, Watkins is quickly running out of time to make his mark. Perhaps he'll fare better next week when the Chiefs host Indianapolis on Sunday Night Football.

Sammy Watkins (hamstring/shoulder) is questionable for the Chiefs' Sunday night matchup against the Colts.
Watkins was downgraded to a limited participant in practice Friday. His absence would lead to the likes of De'Anthony Thomas and Byron Pringle entering 3-WR sets alongside incumbent starters Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman. The Colts' zone-heavy defense has done a good job limiting the WR position over the past two seasons, but there's still plenty of fantasy value behind anyone involved in an offense with Patrick Mahomes. Hopefully we'll get an update on Watkins before Sunday afternoon.

The Chiefs will be without wide receiver Tyreek Hill against the Colts on Sunday night and another member of the receiving corps may also be out of action.
Sammy Watkins was listed on Kansas City’s injury reports on Wednesday and Thursday as a full participant with a shoulder injury. Friday saw Watkins drop to limited participation and he is also now listed with a hamstring issue.
The Chiefs offense has held up well without Hill in the last three games, but losing another wideout would provide more of a test for the unit.
Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson, De'Anthony Thomas and Byron Pringle are the healthy wideouts for the Chiefs.
