WR Terry McLaurin, WAS (1 Viewer)

Terry showed us why he was so important to resign. He made some unbelievably difficult catches last night. We need him on the field to have any chance of turning around this season (which is starting to feel less and less likely unfortunately)
Urg you just know Terry is exactly what Jayden needs. If they could just freaking stay healthy then I could see both being vaulted to high-end players at their positions again.

There seems to be optimism Jayden could play this weekend and Terry is talking his injury down a lot too, but we've been disappointed with both injury wise this season. I won't believe it until both get a FP in.

Are we thinking he'll be ready to play week 13 and can he be trusted in the playoffs? Obviously concerns at QB and Commandos aren't playing for much...

I would have hoped the Commanders would have just shut him down for the season if the injury truly was that bad.

I am holding out hope he and Daniels can return but likely not anything close to last year's production.

I grabbed him off the WW in hopes he comes back as well. Quinn said yesterday that Terry took part in the jog through and expects him to ramp up participation over the next few days. I'd just like to have him back on the field in time for the FF Playoffs.

Very worthy gamble imo. People forget how lethal the Daniels -> Terry connection was last year. That's why I double dipped on Commanders and took them both in one league (Safe to say I am not doing well in that one).

I actually just did something similar in a different league with Mike Evans. If he comes back in a couple weeks you could get a WR1 for free.

Same. Worth a look.

Well Terry is seemingly back. He logged a full practice yesterday.

What are people's thoughts ROS? Daniels isn't playing this weekend but it sounds like he can next week. Do you trust Terry at all ROS?

The delusional manager in me thinks they can rekindle their magic from last year. They both clearly missed each other when the other was hurt.

If he's active I need to consider Terry over Diggs (the latter currently in my lineup).

He'll want to play well down the stretch after missing so much of the season. Fresh legs.

He was dropped in my league this past week. I used the rest of my waiver money on him. Worth a shot at this point of the season. I really have no idea how this plays out. Pretty good schedule for the playoffs. Hopefully Daniels comes back also.

He's active and I'm in a similar boat. I have Metcalf starting but considering putting Terry in his place. I might give him a week on the bench to see how he does, but it's very tempting.

I'm keeping him on the bench for one week. For two reasons. One, the last time he got back on the field, he promptly re-injured himself (yes, after catching a TD). Two, he's playing against the Denver D, and that's just a bad idea.

Same.

I was between Terry and Diggs... just something about primetime matchups that brings out the best in the latter.

Pretty solid night for F1. Going against (arguably) the league's best defense, playing w/ back-up QB, limited snaps, often facing Patrick Surtain. and battling the turf monster...

At end of regulation, 11 targets, 5 grabs, 73 yds.

He's exceeded my expectations. And some OT to go!

Edit/Update: WOW - finished w/ 14 tar 7 rec, 96 yds, 1 TD... welcome back Terry McLaurin!

Last night showed me exactly what I needed to see to start him with confidence the rest of the season. Hallelujah.

Same. It was just great to see him getting peppered with targets again. IIRC in the few games he played to start the season he had less than 5 a few times. Not a good recipe for keeping a WR1 involved in the game.

Of course, I'm already regretting my decision to leave Diggs in my line-up over F1.

adding to the excitement here, there was the 30yd td pass in OT that got nullified by the penalty. Washington had so many opportunities to take this one. i didn't start him, and like many of you here he killed my season sitting out so long, but really good to see him come back strong as he did. He looked as good as ever even with Mariota at the helm.

I love that he is back and really hope I can trust using him in the playoffs. I'm glad we get another week to let him audition for that role.

Man, it's been a long year and it might be too late for the playoffs but if I catch a break I think I make some noise. Seemed like there were a lot of players slipping on the grass last week, and damn if Terry didn't go down at one point all splay-legged like a foal and I thought he'd tear that groin or quad off of his bone, but he managed to finish the out route he was running. Mariota hit him even though the fall came at the top of his route and Terry came down with it—and I had forgotten that for so long the QBs and the teams in DC were terrible, and I had to do a double-take because it was an actual throw with timing and accuracy, and my word was that surprising thing to see and it stuck with me all week that as good as Terry has been he has been held back so badly. Glad he got his bag with that K.

Terry McLaurin caught 3-of-6 targets for 41 yards in the Commanders’ Week 14 loss to the Vikings.

Were it not for a 28-yard reception on the Commanders’ first possession, McLaurin’s day would have been even more forgettable. Playing with his QB1 for the first time since Week 2, McLaurin and the Commanders failed to find the end zone in the 31-0 defeat. His offensive struggles were only made worse after Jayden Daniels (elbow) exited on the opening drive of the third quarter, but the Commanders looked out of sync for most of the day regardless of who was under center. McLaurin will hope to get right in Week 15’s game against the Giants, where he’ll be on the WR3 radar.

I'm a big fan but I am starting to wonder if he is over the hill

He is. And that's why he held out. This was the last year to get his bag. And got it he did He can be a solid #2 or 3, and maybe that's their goal with him. I (probably wrongfully) will forever blame him for our horrid season. His holdout put everything in the wrong mood. He wasn't prepared to play physically or mentally, which led to an injury which he might have already had during negotiations. Missing camp really hurt not only JD5 but also made it hard for Debo and the OL to get situated.

He will be back stronger next year. But man, this season we'd be better off if he had gone elsewhere.

That's interesting. Wasn't the season a disaster in part because he wasn't around? I can see where he will have lost a step from his youth by next year, but he was moving pretty solidly last week (I would not and do not know the exact state of things vis a vis Terry's speed so that's not my quibble) and it sure seems like his solid week coincided with a solid team effort.

Anyway, I don't want to nitpick a fan, but I was wondering what you meant; if it was just a frustrated, throw-away line then ignore this and my apologies.

Pretty meh game. I didn't watch and saw Daniels was out for most of the game.

Is Terry start-able with Mariota at the helm if JD misses more time?

It's so weird, that with Mariota at QB against a great Denver defense, McLaurin played great (7/96/1). But last week, the entire Washington team laid an egg. Have they given up? I would love to start McLaurin this week against a terrible Giants defense. But I just don't know if he's trustable.

I trust him more with MM at the helm than Daniels this season lol. Jayden just didn't look right when healthy.

I may have to start Terry too.

Minnesota shut down Darnold/JSN the week prior. I'm starting McLaurin with confidence.
