WR Tyreek Hill, MIA (1 Viewer)

Anyone ever sprain an ankle and within an hour been running as fast as he was and then not been fine in 6 days?

Not to mention two chunk plays in the 2nd half... where the separation was like 10 yards! Haha
Ive seen players come back and play, but miss the next week.
However, not usually from a regular ankle sprain
Hill said he can’t cut, and that he thinks this will effect him the rest of the regular season.

Might be hyperbole, but I know I’ve seen players play through ankle sprains & have it swell/stiffen, and either miss the following week or be limited

Tee Higgins is the last I can recall - played through an ankle a couple seasons back, and was basically a decoy for 2-3 weeks.
It's been a day or two. Regular sprains heal quick for regular people, let alone a cheetaaa
Except he ran out and played on it.

The quote I heard was from today. Said he couldn’t cut.
It's Wednesday

No way he sits. He has 458 yards left to make history. Every fan knows who the first RB to reach 2K was, and that was 50 years ago. He wants everyone to remember his name forever too (insert joke here).
The team might have other interests, like, say, having him healthy for the postseason. Or even the last 2 games of the regular season.

They just got a hell of a sneak preview of what their offense looks like without him and it wasn’t pretty. And that was against a bottom of the league pass defense.
I understand what you are saying, but I think 2K receiving is a stat you don't play it safe on. You go for it at all costs. What's to say they sit him out 2 games, then he enters week 16 and gets injured on the first play? If he can walk on Sunday, he'll be out there.

Thank you - I was wondering & you’ve saved me a glance at my calendar.

I would think improving their chances at a Super Bowl berth would perhaps take precedence over a personal achievement.

But that’s just me.

Nope! Personal records come before SB rings. We all know that.

After the TEN game, the possible resurgence of Zack, the injured oline, both safeties out, no J Phillips or Baker, Miami needs everyone to beat anyone.

This is very true. The Jets have proven the Any Given Sunday holds with them. They've beaten Philly, Denver, Buffalo, and Houston. Those are all good teams. Don't think somewhere in the back of their mind they're not thinking they can win out. They've got the Dolphins limping home, the Commanders at home, a Flacco-led Cleveland, and a Zappe or Mac-led Patriots.

Those are all winnable games. Will they do it? Likely and almost certainly not. But they've got a fighting chance.

Then they should go all out to win this week, cause if they lose they are in danger of missing the playoffs, and certainly the division to Buffalo.
Their last three games are Dallas, Baltimore, and Buffalo

It's a conference game, too. I'm not getting in the middle of you and HSG because I already said that his ankle might take longer than you think, but in terms of him playing, this is a really important game.

Given the way the Jets are playing, I'm not sure victory is assured if Hill sits. They might need him.

Anything that hinders what makes Tyreek special is a huge avoid. This whole matchup just stinks because you never know what you're gonna get from the jets. Wilson is pulling a Fitzpatrick where the music could stop, just don't know when. They both had 100 yards vs. the Jets a few weeks ago but that was with Tim freaking Boyle. It's a bit different with Wilson.

I think he raises the floor actually, Tim Boyle meant you didn't have to do much as an offense, Zack makes it more of a game

Y’all up in here stepping on cracks, breaking mirrors, walking under ladders, and attending black cat parades. Don’t you know I’ve got money tied to season high point? Not cool, fellas. NOT COOL.

What I meant is Tim Boyle = demoralized defense at home which equals more big plays and don't care attitude lol. Better field position- playbook way wide open, etc.

But like I said - the Jets are easily the most beatable team on that schedule.

Certainly possible.

But if playing keeps him gimpy or makes it worse, vs resting and having a fully healthy cheetah weeks 16-17-18, I’d probably err towards the former if I’m the Jets.

Maybe. Or maybe he throws 3 picks and gets benched at halftime.

All the more reason to make sure you get the win.

Anyone ever sprain an ankle and within an hour been running as fast as he was and then not been fine in 6 days?
I wasn’t running as fast as him but I sprained an ankle and ran 29 hours on it Swollen bigger than a softball. It took 2.5 years for that ankle to get right and not roll on a sidewalk crack. Of course I didn’t have access to his treatment. Personally I’d rather push a hamstring injury than an ankle.

He may be able to run straight and cut one direction.

I also sprained an ankle at age 19, took over a year to be right. However, I was on crutches for the two days after, and fairly certain it was either a high ankle sprain or way more was damaged than just an ankle. My foot bent backwards and I heard some noises in there.

Tyreek did not appear to do that kind of damage that we did.

I have also had ankle sprains where I could barely walk that night and next morning, and aftern48 hours was basically good as new.

I had a couple like that in my soccer days. Couldn’t put any weight on it but the next day it was just sore, a week later it was fine.

I think what Tyreek did was somewhere in between.

He said himself he can run straight but can’t cut. That was 3 days after.

He also said he expected it to be an issue all year. Again, he could just be a drama queen, but he sounded sincere.

Three days after? We haven't even hit 72 hours yet, and didn't he say that yesterday??

Oh, ok 2 days after. Forgot that was MNF, not SNF.

His ankle has been bothering him all season… that’s what he was referring to.
That might make sense as to why it hurt so bad when he did it. Exacerbating and existing issue always seems to hurt way more than it needs to.
I'm the same with tennis elbow... everything can be going fine, getting in my workouts, and then a slight bump on my elbow makes me want to break stuff! Haha

With the Sat games this week, it really puts the pressure on for guys like Hill and DJ Moore. I just hope we get some clarity before we have to make really hard decisions.

Yeah it just amazes me that he is in the HOF. Could it all have been over a pair of sunglasses?

I don't really know what sort of evil lurked in O.J.'s heart, so I'm not sure it was a pair of sunglasses that set the events in motion. They might have happened anyway. Anyway, I'm going to forget O.J. and get back to Tyreek Hill.

Connor Williams' injury and potential windy conditions throw even more into the mix here with a less than 100% Tyreek against a formidable Jets defense in a rivalry game. If Hill plays you can't sit him but expectations are definitely lowered.
