Joe, in recognition and appreciation for the FBG community you've hosted over the years ... may I respectfully offer an alternative?

That particular draft thread is not sacrosanct. As the latter contents therein have been found offensive, that thread can go away. Those involved in the draft itself, however, are invested in the selections and discussions generated by the picks themselves.

Would you be amenable, therefore, to a second thread that would strictly (a) allow for the completion of the draft, and (b) allow for the discussion of musicians and songs drafted? At the same time, those drafting will commit earnestly to avoiding jest at the expense of the deceased.

So far as I'm aware, the closed draft thread was not populated with FFA troublemakers with multiple bannings. Rather, it seems that the drafters were among the forums' most positively productive members -- folks who care far more to share knowledge and experience than to denigrate the knowledge and experience of others.

Accordingly, might it be reasonable that the drafters, as board members in excellent standing, have earned the trust necessary to start a second thread?

I agree the thread was good up till then. I was worried at the start about the snarky "book of the dead" requirement but let it go as the posts were excellent.

I fully understand the context and a Monty Python "not dead yet" video link was way over the line. 

I appreciate your idea on a new thread. But I'm not sure that's necessary. I'd said 30 days but let me look at it tomorrow morning and reopen. And please keep it as you said respectful. It had been until the Monty Python shot. 

One of the things I love most about Footballguys is the community we've been able to build here. That's you folks. I know some people think the worst of me/us and I'm well aware of the stuff I'd be very glad not to hear others say. That doesn't take much imagination for me to know that. It's a bummer but it's part of the business. I understand people are frustrated. For the most part, I believe most folks are glad to here and appreciative of FBG and the community. It's special to me and tons others I know. 

I'm going to close this one and we can pick back up the original thread tomorrow. People can shoot me a PM if they'd like. Thanks.
