I'm surprised that Mark Clayton hasn't been mentioned yet. I'd think he'd be one of the first. He was on pace for 1200/8 last year before he got hurt, and he's got the best up and coming quarterback in the game throwing to him. They added only MSW in the offseason, who is nothing special.
wow that guy seems pretty good. what teams he on?
I think he was referring to the fact that Clayton hasn't been re-signed by St. Louis yet, therefore he has no job in the NFL at the moment.
OK, I'm with you now. I guess the extreme sarcasm lost me.Last note on Mark ClaytonRams | Mark Clayton visits (Fri Aug 12, 12:03 AM) - Free-agent WR Mark Clayton (knee) visited with the St. Louis Rams Thursday, Aug. 11. His visit was to keep them up to speed on where he is in his recovery from a knee injury. He is expected to re-sign with the Rams, but it may not be for another week or longer. Our View: Clayton's eventual re-signing could take the edge off of Mike Sims-Walker's sleeper status, but Sims-Walker should still get a chance to start and have a bounce back season. It's hard to trust Clayton with his knee still being a big question this close to the season.
sorry .. i was just being a jerk ... i agree that clayton is a talent, but it seems that he might be a non-factor this year. you figure they would at least sign him if he was healthy enough to play in the preseason and contribute during the year. the fact that they've just let him dangle out there has me questioning how bad the injury really is.

ahh, worst thing that happened was me reading some more material a few days before the draft, no biggie!

Cribbs most likely won't be risking injury by returning kicks anymore.
Are you serious? It's much more likely he stops playing WR than returning kicks.
Easy there. With the new KO rule and there being a lot more kicks out of the endzone and touchbacks, they will need to find ways to get the ball in this playmakers hands. Not saying hes right, just saying its not worthy of an "Are you serious?"Edit: lol, just read the rest of the thread...
This is the same Shurmer offense that saw Danny Amendola come out of nowhere to catch 85 passes in STL last year. Shurmer has taken a liking to Cribbs and said recently he wants to get the ball into his hands. Maybe he's this team's Amendola 2011. Not completely far fetched.

Not that anyone cares, but you talked me into taking Cribbs (or Cribbage) in the 18th round of my slow draft. Let's see how it shakes out!I'd still like to hear some more names if you have some! This is the same Shurmer offense that saw Danny Amendola come out of nowhere to catch 85 passes in STL last year. Wow, I suck today, let's try this againNot that anyone cares, but you talked me into taking Cribbs (or Cribbage) in the 18th round of my slow draft. Let's see how it shakes out!I'd still like to hear some more names if you have some!

Roy Williams - Could see 8-10 touchdown surprise here

Robert Meachem and/or Lance Moore

Braylon Edwards - I think he's motivated to get one more nice contract next offseason

Lee Evans - I never learn my lesson.

Lee Evans.
Good call. Flacco led the league last year in 20+ yard TDs despite having a receiving corpse (note: not a typo) older than Methuselah. Think Lee Evans is going to be on the receiving end of some major-league bombs this year? Because I certainly do.

These two players have burned me more than any others over the years but I can't help it. I'm on the Roy Williams and Lee Evans bandwagons again.

Maybe not "completely", but thisclose. This Browns homer suggests you look elsewhere for a lottery ticket. He will be no better than 5th on the team in receptions.

I think you can grab Manny Sanders from the Steelers in the last round. He is out right now with a foot, but he showed flashes last year, and with Hines getting older, Ben will look to other WRs, and since I believe Wallace will get the safety rolling to him, Sanders might get a lot of single coverage, and he has skills. Again, you can get him real late.

Really like Floyd and James Jones this deep in draft. I think Evans value will increase big time with the trade and he wont be a steal much longer
Floyd will obviously be huge early on with Gates either playing hurt or missing games with his injury. Once/If Gates gets back and with VJax back, I think Floyd will be too inconsistent to count on. May make good trade bait in smaller roster teams to Gates owner
I agree to a certain extent on Floyd, however, his main issue has been his health in years past. If he remains healthy he definitely has the chance to eclipse the 1000 yard mark with 5 TD's. That would be solid value for his expected draft position of 8-10th round. I fully expect Rivers to throw for 4800+ yards again this year. Gates and VJ will account for at least 2500 of those if they are healthy. Then 800-1000 for Floyd, 500-600 for Crayton, 500-600 to the RB's.

floyd was hovering around WR20 in the games he played. if he plays a full season, i would be surprised if he doesnt finish in the top 24 this year. just worried about his health. vjax gets his numbers from long bombs. he's not a target hog so i dont think 'taking targets away from floyd' will be much of a factor here. the 3rd rec option in a phillip rivers offense is a good place to be

i like bennet and smith (phi) for the second half of the year if he can get healthy by then

:goodposting:A move from the fantasy doldrums in Buffalo to a contender with a QB that has a cannon for an arm and a WR1 that demands double teams? Lee Evans for the win.
I agree. Evans is primed to bounce back this year. He was in dire need for a change of scenery. If there is one thing he has excelled at, it is the 30+ yard bomb. Flacco has a cannon for an arm and he will be playing opposite Anquan Boldin. Teams are going to double team Boldin (or at least shade the safteys toward him) which will leave Evans one on one with a CB. He can also go and get the ball when he goes deep; he fights for it. One of his best catches against Revis:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sxkXH6gZ08http://youtu.be/4sxkXH6gZ08

Evans may not be a bad choice here. Ironically, he follows the steve johnson breakout blueprint from last year--a talented guy playing WR2 next to a WR1 good enough to draw double coverage but not dominant enough to have major success despite the doubleteams. Obviously the posession guy is now the WR1, which may lessen the impact a bit (clogging the middle of the field with two defenders rather than creating space by pulling them out deep) but the parallels are there.

I dont understand all the Evans love, especially when it was Boldin moving to Baltimore last year with same aspirations and a major letdown. I dont see this team as a passing threat and I am personally limiting my expectations with both Balt WRs.

People listing Roy Williams, does this newest nugget of info make you wary at all?:

(TheHuddle) Chicago Bears WR Roy Williams admits that he is still not in football shape at this point in training camp, and that has been increasingly apparent watching Williams go through practice at sometimes less than peak speed. Williams acknowledged that the biggest thing for him to work on at this point is "my conditioning. Getting my wind right. You have to be able to run in this offense. Run all day long."Analysis: This may be why we heard the Bears' coaches talking about Williams battling for a starting job and how much of a factor Earl Bennett was going to be--to motivate Roy to get in shape. Granted, it's still early in training camp, but if Roy truly is fighting for a job he should be spending his free time on the NordicTrac instead of giving interviews.

Brandon Gibson. #1 WR in St. Louis and in a Josh McDaniel's offense.
:goodposting:Gibson has played well. And is (as of right now), the clear #1 is St Lou. Baring injury, he will have a very good year in Josh McDaniels offense.MSW (formerly my #1 sleeper), is having a horrible preseason so far.

Danny Amendola

This guy is criminally underrated in PPR leagues. I know everyone wants Alexander, Gibson, or MSW to emerge, and I'm sure they'll all have their moments, but the guy to target here is Amendola. Bradford trusts him and McDaniels will know exactly how to utilize him effectively. He went 85/689/3 with a rookie QB and no McDaniels. Would it really be that shocking if he went 95/1000/6 this season?

I bet he doesn't make it

I'll throw out another name: Braylon Edwards. I know he could be suspended for a game or two and the QB situation there is concerning, but with Crabtree struggling with injuries, the door is open for him. He was actually pretty good last year and we all know that the talent is there for a big season. So many people have been burned by him that he's bound to drop very low. When you consider other WR's going around the same time, there's a lot of upside there.
