Overarching theme of my draft so far has clearly been "talent over opportunity".
9/10 turn: Planned to spend both these picks bolstering my RB corps as I don't have a proven stud up top. Bradshaw looked better last season than he has in years before suffering the (inevitable) injury. Obviously I'm hoping he re-ups with the Colts where his path to touches is clearest, but no matter where he goes he'll be at minimum a 3rd-down back and solid pass-catcher out of the backfield (something that always seems to be underrated in these survivors). West may not be as flashy as Crowell, but he's got enough talent to ensure at least a time-share in an offense that is going to absolutely run the heck out of the ball. A second-year RB breakout from the draft class of 2014 to match the first-year WR breakout sure would be nice for my squad ...
11/12 turn: Took a gamble here ... really wanted either Blackmon or Latimer, but noticed that Ref had only 1 TE and 4 WRs already and figured one of the two would make it back to me at 12.02 so I'd better lock down the TE I wanted first ... oh well, sometimes the bear gets you. I was a big buyer of Gates last summer as I thought people were kicking dirt on his grave too soon ... now I think it's possible the pendulum has swung the other way and it may be Green who surprises to the upside this year. As for Jones, well, not a bad consolation prize ... I'm a noted Sanu skeptic and think Jones will elbow him out of the #2 role relatively easily upon his return ... and the #2 opposite AJG has historically been a good fantasy producer. Yeah, the 10 TDs from Jones' breakout year were kinda fluky, but even a stat line like 60/700/7 would make a top-40 type WR out of WR67 off the board.
Like Ref said, being near the turn means you have to grab PKs and D/STs sooner rather than later, so having a backup or two at every position already gives me a little flexibility.
