WW Pickups for Wk 10 (1 Viewer)

Peak

Footballguy
With all of the injuries from yesterday, there should be some action on the WW this week. I haven't seen one out here yet, so figured I'd start one up.

Priest Holmes

Maurice Morris

Sleeper pick here is Kolby Smith... IF LJ is out for an extended period of time, the kid certainly has some value. Let's face it... Holmes will likely get his, but be realistic, he's 34 years old, one solid hit away from another bad neck injury, AND he hasn't been played a full game in a LONG time. The young kid is chomping at the bit to show his stuff...

As an LJ owner without the Priest handcuff, I'm stuck to thinking of:

- Kolby

- Hicks

- suffrage.

I'm guessing I'll try out option #1 and hope for the best. Dang. LJ + AP was looking steam-roller like....

Dayne just keeps hanging around. All but washed up a few years ago, he occasionally turns in a monster game. Like yesterday.

Believe it or not all of these guys are on my leagues waiver wire:

Holmes

Fargas

Dayne

Dunn

Robinson

Hicks

Morris

Before all the comments about playing in a bigger league. Our league is 10 teams with small rosters (17 total and 9 starters), most teams have been carrying extra kickers, TE's and Defenses to get them through a bye week.

How will voting (suffrage) solve your RB issues?

In order:

Kolby Smith

Ron Dayne

Maurice Morris

DJ Hackett (still below Engram, but that could change)

Priest Holmes

Patrick Ramsey

Michael Pittman

Joe Echemendu

Chris Henry

This might be the last week to get Jurevicious on the cheap. He'll have a big game here soon. Granted there are a lot of weapons in the Brown passing game (?!?!?!?! did I just say that? ) but there isn't much of a running threat outside the 2 yard line so the opportunities will continue to be plentiful.

As they should be.......

I'm with you.. 10 team league with 14 player rosters (8starters). All of them are on our wire too.My eye is on Fargas first, although the KC situation is interesting with Priest. Dayne seems to come out of the woodwork once a year, but I can't see numbers from him week to week.Dunn might get more carries as I think Norwood left the game hurt.I'd rank themFargasDunnHolmesMorrisRobinsonHicks

Here it comes.... wait.... hold it.....What, are you fruitcakes in a 2 team, 1 RB league?! :wall: Jesting aside, as an LJ owner I wish I had those options available. 12 team, 16 man + IR rosters, and all that's left of the listed guys is Hicks.

With TB's wk10 bye wk, this might be the wk to get him as leaguemates will overlook him.E.Graham is there, but Pittman WAS playing some fullback and might get the GL carries when he returns.

Upcoming schedule wks 11-16:

@atl, Was, @NOrl, @Hou, Atl, @SF

Atl TWICE

3 domes (if you incl Hou)

No cold weather games

Sleeper WatchBy Pat Hunley, Fantasy Football Cafe RegularIn any rookie draft, the fourth round is usually less than irrelevant. Most rookie drafts are four rounds long, and by that point, there’s nothing left but second day draft picks and undrafted free agents. However, there are always some deep sleepers in the fourth round, and some of them work out. Marques Colston went undrafted in most rookie drafts, and Mike Bell was a common third and fourth round pick. There are diamonds to be found in the rough that is the fourth round, and although predicting them is impossible, speculating is easy. One common fourth round pick who could become the next Bell or Colston is Kolby Smith.Kolby Smith was one of two running backs out of Louisville taken in the NFL draft. He played behind Michael Bush for most of his college career, but when Bush broke his leg in 2006, Smith became part of a Louisville rushing attack that ran for almost 2500 yards and scored 35 touchdowns. Smith received the majority of the carries and ended the season with 154 carries for 862 yards, an average of 5.6 yards per carry. He also scored 7 touchdowns. However, Smith never received more than 20 carries in a game and was relieved frequently by George Stripling and Anthony Allan.Smith was drafted in the fifth round by the Kansas City Chiefs, and for a fifth round pick, you really couldn’t ask for a better situation. The Chiefs have minimal depth at running back, so Smith’s chances of making the roster are excellent, and his chances of eventually becoming the backup are also high. And don’t forget the question marks surrounding Larry Johnson. LJ had over 400 carries last year, a workload that usually translates into poor performance in following years. There are also rumors that Johnson could hold out of training camp because he wants a contract extension. All of these factors lead to a great situation for Smith where he could get carries right away or be the starter within a couple years.I’m not saying that Smith is a sure thing. You shouldn’t take him in your rookie draft and declare your running back problems solved. Players that fall to the fifth round fall there for a reason, and Smith is no exception. He never carried the full load in college, so even if he does become the starter, he will probably be in a running back by committee with a goal line vulture as well. This could limit his fantasy value. Still, the situation surrounding Smith gives him a much better chance at playing time than other players you could get with a fourth round rookie draft pick. For that small of a price, why not take someone that could one day be a starting running back? :hophead:

Dayne just keeps hanging around. All but washed up a few years ago, he occasionally turns in a monster game. Like yesterday.
Dayne saw 17 carries against the Chargers in Week 8, but that was because Ahmam Green was inactive. Since he was back against the Raiders and Joe Echemandu coming off a big game against the Chargers, everyone though Dayne would be the forgotten back. He showed otherwise. The Texans now have three viable running backs and Kubiak has the spoils of switching it up. Not good at all for Fantasy owners. Dayne still remains a low-end Fantasy option at this time. His Fantasy evaluation will be on a week-to-week basis. The Texans are idle Week 10 and return to action Week 11 against the Saints. :football:

I like Mike...but he will definitely NOT be getting the GL carries. In fact, I've been critical of Graham for weeks...but he looked better than ever on Sunday.

Pittman could get some nice rec yards though...ala Kenny Watson.

Graham has averaged 92.7 rushing yards in his last three starts. "We don't look at Earnest like a third-string running back," free safety Tanard Jackson said. "We didn't feel any drop-off when Cadillac got hurt. It was unfortunate, but Earnest has stepped up."

His ability to grind out tough yardage allowed Tampa Bay to control the clock and keep the ball away from the Cardinals, who entered the game with the league's 11th-ranked offense. The Buccaneers (5-4) enjoyed a lopsided advantage in time of possession, 43:07 to 16:53.

Buccaneers fans have a new hero in Graham, a fourth-year pro who came into the league as a free agent.

"Yeah, I think the fans can relate to me a little more than a lot of guys," Graham said. "Getting tough yards, the way I fight, people can relate to that."

All pitt will do is spell graham.....period.

What's funny is I have three of the guys you guys are mentioning : Fargas, Hackett, and Morris. I'm in a 14 team league with 17 roster spots and it got pretty slim toward the final rounds. I believe I picked up Morris and Fargas with my last 2 picks and just had them hanging around my roster. Now I can start using them to fill in for this upcoming week 10 bye. I have Moss and Stallworth on bye so I'm rolling with Fargas and Morris and I will be using Hackett instead of Shockey.

All pitt will do is spell graham.....period.
Pittman will be on the field with Graham...period. That will lead to opps...period. :X
1. Earnest Graham isn't giving back his starting job anytime soon, assuming he can still walk after carrying the ball 34 times against Arizona. Since Michael Bennett was acquired, Graham has managed over 400 total yards in three games. Michael Pittman should pick up third downs after Tampa's bye, but Graham has earned weekly consideration in fantasy leagues. ....from rotoworld

I'm not saying Graham is losing his job. What I'm saying is that Pittman will be in the starting backfield WITH Graham...as he was before he got hurt.I'm sure Pittman is going to get the ball...whether it takes much away from Graham is up in the air. But I would expect more production out of the backfield AS A WHOLE.

Gruden made it clear that when Pittman finally returns, there will be a place for the versatile veteran back despite Graham's career-best 124 yards rushing against the Cardinals. "Pittman has always been a big part of our offense," Gruden said Monday. "He's a great receiver. He's one of the great third-down backs in football, I believe. He allows us to move formations. He's a joker. He's a guy who can line up in any eligible position and function, and he's just going to supplement what we're doing and give us a good runner and excellent receiver and certainly a good pass protector."

That's no slight on Graham, who has helped the Bucs remain a threat to run the ball even after Cadillac Williams' season-ending knee injury and Pittman's monthlong absence.

Gruden did not say who will start when Pittman returns, but Graham could remain in the starting lineup while Pittman gets back up to speed. It's likely Pittman might assume the role as third-down back that he had behind Williams.

All of those guys are available in my 12 team league as well. I am shooting for the once-studly fantasy footballer, Priest Holmes. I picked up JP Losman last week and it certainly worked in my favor. This week he plays MIAMI! In fact, he has Miami TWICE in the coming weeks!
