You Got a No-No Goin (1 Viewer)

Gotta give that outside strike 3, come on blue! Didn't matter though, one more to go....

That is really unfortunate for Miller. Miami hits .274 at home and with a speedster like Gordon (Ichiro also almost trucked out a soft grounder to shortstop), it would have been one of the most impressive no-hitters in my recent memory especially with such a low pitch count. Usually a no hitter has a lot to do with the opposing team's hitters - for examples, last year Lincecum threw a no-hitter against San Diego who had a horrific day-away BA going into that game (IIRC it was below .200 as a team). Kershaw's no-hitter was against Colorado who sucked as a road hitting team and was really hurting at that time. But a no-hitter in Miami with a solid home BA would have been no joke.

Sox minor leaguer Brian Johnson (Pawtucket AAA) was perfect through six. So of course, they lift him after only 74 pitches.

He's ready for MLB as we know it in 2015. :hifive:

Heston has had a weird season. His game scores have been hot or cold. Out of his twelve starts, he has five game scores of 30 or less and (including tonight) seven game scores of 60 or more. He has zero game scores in the 31-59 range which should be the fat part of a normal distribution.

I was wrong about the perfect part originally. Can't be many no-hit, no error games with 3 HBP.
Best as I can tell, it was the first. Only previous ones with 2 HBP were Bo Belinsky (1962) and Virgil Trucks (1952).

I've only found 11 other 0 H, 0 BB games that weren't perfect games. Last one was Kershaw last year on Hanley's error in the seventh.
