NOT
Their schedule was pretty easy.Pats on the other hand destroyed teams with a patchwork defense and tons of injuries on both sides of the ball. To finish 11-5 with that ragtag team is amazing.

You betcha. Now if the Queens get bounced next week my season will be complete.Nothing better than seeing these two out of the playoffs.
Have to agree there..it comes outta my butt every time I think of those two wimpy teams!
As a Cowboys fan, I think I speak for both groups to say that we're flattered that people care so much about the two teams that they're willing to single them out among the 20 teams that didn't make the playoffs. Stay classy, fans jealous of America's team(s).

You forgot the Packers, though.

Sure thing, guys. Guess you haven't checked TV ratings, merchandising sales or franchise value lately. I'm pretty sure that Dallas is the most popular team in America (and New England is near the top). How else would you define the term?3,650 days since their last playoff win and Dallas fans still trot out the nicknames. As a Cowboys fan, I think I speak for both groups to say that we're flattered that people care so much about the two teams that they're willing to single them out among the 20 teams that didn't make the playoffs. You'd be right about that!Seriously, though, just some chop-busting because I have very vocal Cowboy friends/family.Guess you haven't checked TV ratings, merchandising sales or franchise value lately.

I'm proud of the Patriot season. They overcame a great deal this year. The Cassel situation is very tricky IMO. I'm not sure if they can successfully Franchise and then trade him. Big number to carry on your cap if even only for a couple of months.Brady will be back. Adalius Thomas will be back. The Pats have their 1st round pic, 2 2nds and 2 3rds in next years draft. Good chance to restock the defense.I love the Patriots, but I don't mind them missing the playoffs this year. I felt like we were playing with house money all year, to the point where 11-5 feels like a pretty successful season, or at least one that greatly exceeds expectations. I didn't have high expectations for them winning in the playoffs, and I don't really care whether they get knocked out by a tiebreaker in the division/wild card or get knocked out in an early round. If the Pats don't have Brady back next year, that's a whole different story. That'd be way more disappointing than today was.
A Colts-Panters SB would be very intriguing. IMO, the Titans just don't have the whole package necessary to make it through the playoffs. The NFL and TV networks would respectfully disagree with your glee. Looking forward to a Panthers-Titans Super Bowl and the lowest ratings in 20 years!

I couldn't care less about the ratings of the Super Bowl. Panthers-Titans would be a great game and one I would be very happy to watch, regardless of the feelings of the millions of non-football fans who watch one game a year.To be honest, I woke up this morning and thought there was no way that both the Pats and Cowboys missed the playoffs. You know the NFL wanted both of them in. The fact they both missed out is a good one to remember the next time some bozo starts with the "the NFL is fixed" line of crap. What will the playoff times be? You know the NFL wants Manning on in prime time Saturday night vs. whoever wins the AFC West. I predict:Saturdayearly game: Atlanta at Arizonalate game: Indy at AFC WestSundayearly game: Baltimore at Miamilate game: Philly at MinnesotaThe NFL would have loved Dallas at Chicago in the late slot Sunday, or the Jets at New EnglandThe NFL and TV networks would respectfully disagree with your glee. You are right. The Patriots beat 3 marginal playoff teams in Arizona, Denver and Miami. If the Patriots wanted to make the playoffs, they should have beaten Indianapolis and or San Diego. Unfortunately, they played Indy and SD to early in the season. Either before Cassel got comfortable or before the coaching staff got comfortable with him. I think the current Pats team hit their stride late (against questionable competition) and was really intrigued by a possible matchup with Baltimore. I think Baltimore has a run in them. I think they beat Miami and have a good shot at beating a banged up Pittsburgh team to get to the AFC Championship.Pats benefited from a joke of an easy sked this year -- 7 of their 11 wins came vs. the AFC and NFC West. Then they swept Buffalo and split vs. Miami and the Jets.Remind me again of their signature win this season? Gaining the split vs. a Dolphins team that humiliated them earlier? Whipping a Cardinal team that gave the most shameful effort the NFL has seen in a decade? The entire AFC East is very weak this year, as evidenced by its champion, an 11-5 team that benefited from the same easy schedule the Pats had (and like New England, going 0-2 vs. the AFC North and South) and that will be whipped at home in the Wild Card round by the Ravens (again).
As a Phillies fan, I heard a lot of talk about low ratings for the Series and how MLB (FOX) would have rather had an LA/Boston Series. Phillies/Rays could have been the lowest rated Series ever. Well, I have a certain finger I'd like to wave at those people to let them know the Phillies are #1. My team won the Championship and I really don't care what the ratings were. I'm pretty sure Panthers & Titans fans would feel the same if their team wins the SB.The NFL and TV networks would respectfully disagree with your glee. Looking forward to a Panthers-Titans Super Bowl and the lowest ratings in 20 years!
I hate the Patriots as much as anybody on this board, but I have to give you lots of credit for being the voice of reason here. Realistically, if you told NE Nation in the preseason that they would lose Brady in week 1 and still go 11-5, you'd have to be ecstatic with that result and figure that a division title would follow. The end of this season was bizarrely unlucky for NE.I love the Patriots, but I don't mind them missing the playoffs this year. Unlucky, but it's hard to get too down about this particular Pats team not making the playoffs. With all of the injuries, they were a fatally flawed defensive team that was likely to get exposed in either the first or second round of the tournament.I hate the Patriots as much as anybody on this board, but I have to give you lots of credit for being the voice of reason here. Indy and SD early in the season was precisely the time you'd want to play them. It's B.B.'s fault for not having Cassel more comfortable to take on those two teams when their weaknesses were exposed. You are right. Apparently...they are not.Pats are better than the Dolphins. It just didn't work out this year.
