Just watched the "Steve Mariucci: In his own words" and saw the run again. I'm not a 49ers fan, nor a Jets hater, but to me that was most awesome touchdown (run) I've seen. I remember watching the game and my jaw dropping at the stiff-arm and the subsequent finish to that run. Just amazing--the circumstances surrounding that run and all.The others I like are all Barry Sanders (former Lions season ticket holder).2. His run against Dallas in '91. He basically ran into a pile of guys, disappeared, and appeared out of nowhere. Tony Casillas is caught standing still thinking the play was over, then you see his head rotate the other way as if inside his helmet he was saying "wtf just happened?" as Barry goes to the house.3. Barry also had a good run against New England. Not sure who all he juked but it must have been the whole Defense. Just a see Barry, see Barry run, see Barry score TD.Those are my 3, but I want to hear what others' faves are.

 
I remember all 3 of those runs, all very good ones. The Barry one against NE was awsome. He turned the same defender inside out twice in a matter of seconds, priceless. I remember a run Barry also mad at Solder Field vs. the Bears that was very similar to the one you mentioned vs. the Boys. Another was the Steve Young TD run that lasted about a min and a half. Don't remember who it was against, but was one of the best I ever saw. He just would not be stoped.

Allens Superbowl run has got to be in there as well. Prob the best one in a Superbowl thats for sure.

Yeah any of Bo's TD's were awesome. Even more memorable than his 90+ yarders was his first NFL TD (and not when he ran over Bosworth). I think it was 1st NFL TD, playing Denver at home, Bo takes one around the corner and just runs into Safety Mike Harden like that the car hitting that kid in Scary Movie 3. Seeing it live was incredible.
 
For me, Montana to Clark, NFC championship game vs Dallas, will always be #1.

Excellent choice.....................A close 2nd would be Montana to Taylor to beat Cinci in the 88 Super Bowl. An awesome play in its simplicity. Montana fired a lazer that hit Taylor in perfect stride for the game................. :excited:

Deuce scored a similar touchdown in 2002, ran around the corner and put his head right into the chest of the Falcons safety. Poor guy never had a chance, he's lucky Deuce didn't kill him.I've got a vid clip of that one around here somewhere...........
 
I have been fortunate enough to see in person both The Catch and Young's 46yd TD run vs the Vikings.

Those are my two favorites.

3rd would be any number of runs by Earl Campbell, but I love the one vs the Rams where his jersey is torn to shreds as he runs over half their team. His brute force was a thing of beauty.

Edit to say Campbell's run vs LA was not famous, but NFL Films has shown it millions of times...does that count? ;)

Nothing spectacular here but to break from all the RB TD's posts, I'll pick Steve Bono's 75 yd Naked Bootleg TD KC vs Arizona in '95. Still is the longest TD by a QB I think.

 
Still love Marino's fake spike where he tossed it into the end zone to burn the Jets.Probably not my all time fave, but one I'll always love.

Yes it was!That little start/stop/reverse move he pulled was as fluid and nasty as anything Barry ever did. Simply Amazing.Then the jokers at NFL.com didn't even nominate it for play of the week. :thumbdown:

Ohh soo many to chose from, let's see.....Dorsett's 99 yd run against my Vikings :rant: Bills White Shoes Hail-mary catch which includes his dance at the end :popcorn: Marcus "Driftwood" Allen's SB runEarl Campbell on a sweep on MNF against ???, the guy almost fainted in the end-zone

 
Woodrow Danzler (Cowboys) had the best kickoff return I can remember. IIRC, broke out of a pack of 3 tacklers, stiff armed a guy, then did a crazy one-legged hop deal to stay in bounds before heading down the sideline.

I'm from Nebraska, so I may be a little biased, but. . .Does anyone remember that run by Roger Craig--I think it was against the Rams--where he just kept his knees pumping up to about his earlobes, and it looks like one guy has him, and then he breaks that tackle, and then another guy, and another broken tackle, and another and another. Like 4 or 5 of them.I honestly don't even remember if he ended up scoring on that run, but man it was a thing of beauty. I loved his running style.I'd put Moss' flip to Moe Williams last season up there as one of the more amazing TDs I've seen. Probably not too famous, but very cool.

 
Where are the Steeler fans? No mention yet of the immaculate reception by Franco Harris. Certainly not my own favorite though; I was a huge Raider fan as a kid and I felt physically ill after that one. Couldn't get it out of my head for days.

My favourite part was the lineman out in front with no one to block, waiving him through.

McNair ran one in from 78 yards in his 2nd or 3rd year as a starter against Tampa

Steve ran for 76 actually and at that time it was the longest. I do see McNair had a 8/95/1 vs TB 1998 (his 4th season with Houston Oilers). I couldn't get the play by play breakdown for that game, so as for now I'll take your word for it.
 
Tommy Kramer to Ahmad Rashad against the Browns. Hail Mary pass and catch on the last play of the regular season to send the Vikings to the Central Division Championship!(I guess this year was my payback for that play!) :rant:

:yes: I remember watching that play(Cowboys fan,watch the games), that was an amazing play.Too bad we let him go, and Atlanta took him, they are doin real well with Zuriel Smith and Michael Bates. :rolleyes: What about Vick run against Minn. One of the greatest plays I have ever seen made by a single player. Loved it when the two defenders went to tackle him, and he hurdled, and they just crashed into eachother. :thumbup:
 
Titans/Bills, AFC Wild Card, 1999, I think. After watching 'shoeless' Rob Johnson lead the Bills to the apparent winning field-goal, the ensuing kickoff comes to Lorenzo Neal, who hands it off to Frank Wycheck, who turns and tosses it (barely) sideways to Kevin Dyson. I could not believe what I was seeing (note that I was very hung over at the time). Dyson could have walked in. Then there's the TD that Dyson didn't score in the Super Bowl. :cX:

 
Good Topic. The Barry Sanders run against the Cowboys was amazing. That was the most suprising run I ever saw, as everyone watching that game thought he was down in that pile. That was my favorite.

The Michael Vick overtime run vs. Minnesota was impressive.The Steve Young TD run that was 40 plus showed lots of guts.The Td Tennessee pulled off with the lateral pass on special teams. The Music City Miracle.

Probably because Portis' TD in the same game was better.

Vinnie Testeverde's imitation of the 'running of the bulls'. He was with the Jets and threw an INT a few years back against the 49'ers I think. He tried chasing down the guy and was sandwiched between some other defenders who didn't knock him down but ran beside him as he chased the guy with the ball. It was like an 80 yd INT for a TD. anyoen have a clip of it? You will laugh your ### off. If I am correct he enve had his hands on the shoulder pads of the defenders like he was riding between them.

:cX: Tipped up (instead of knocked down) by Browns DB Thom Darden. :cX: I'll throw in Eric Metcalf vs Cincinnati in his first Monday night game. Took a pass in the flat at about the 10, stopped on a dime and jumped to the side to avoid one defender, then did the same move in the opposite direction to avoid another defender, then waltzed into the end zone.
 
While probably not my favorite, but Mike Brown catching a tipped pass and running an interception in for victory for the second week in a row was memorable. After the ball was tipped in the air, you just knew he would be there.

 
I refuse to select a TD where there was a forward lateral, so the Music city miracle is out.The immaculate reception was the first that came to my mind.Certainly not an all-time favorite, but on a local note, the Ravens missed Field Goal return for TD against denver on Sun? night a few years ago deserves a little reconition for several factors:- Smart call- "good acting" by McAlister hesitating before coming out of the end zone, letting denver start walking off the field- Ray Lewis's block absolutely knocking the snot out of the Denver player- Any play that benefits from Shanahan's arrogance (going for a 60+ yarder and not covering the miss) is a good play

That's my all-time favorite. I don't know who the Patriot DB was that Barry spun around like a top on acid, but it was classic Barry. Everything else is a distant second to that great TD run in my mind.
 
There have been some great ones listed. I agree w/the Marino fake spike, Music City Miracle & Barrys run v/the Bears outta the pack. But, I still love Kenny Stablers falling down pass to Clarence Davis in the playoffs to help Oakland end Miami's great run. Amazing!

 
Anyone recall the TD catch by Freeman on Monday Night football vs. the Vikes I believe. On the ground, off his head or something everyone had stoped and he gets up to waltz into the endzone, classic.

I don't know if the touchdown is considered famous, but my favorite is last year during the Panthers vs Rams playoff game, and Steve Smith caught the touchdown pass from Delhomme in double overtime.
