Went Bosstones since I'm a pretty big fan of all of their stuff.

ETA - My vote didn't register.

Barbie Girl? That's the only song on the list that I recognize by title. I'm sure I've heard most if not all of the rest, just don't know them by title. I'm not sure which one to vote for, but I'm sure Barbie Girl is not my favorite. Jeez, I must be stuck in the '80s. (and no I don't have a mullet) I'll go ahead and null vote, and look some of these up later.

If you like Semisonic Closing Time I'd look into Secret Smile and Singing in my Sleep by them as well.

Singing in my Sleep is a personal favorite.

The Impression That I Get- Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Most of the others make my ears bleed - especially "You get what you give".

These polls without links to the songs are terrible. I probably know most of these songs and can't put the title to the song/artist, but without a link I got nothing but Barbie Girl and Tubthumping.

I say the Bosstones. I'll fly into a homicidal rage and kill someone if I hear "Tubthumping" or that New Radicals schlock ever again. :lmao:

People actually liked that Closing Time song? It made me want to choke people when I'd hear it at the bar. Possibly one of the lamest songs ever written

Closing Time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from

I know who I want to take me home

That song was painfully terrible.

:goodposting: There is a Leonard Cohen song of the same name that is 1000x better...

Mighty Mighty Bosstones - is the band really a one-hit wonder? They have a lot of songs I like and seemed to do fairly well on the radio.

Closing Time and You Get What You Give are head and shoulders above the rest for me. When with Closing Time. I still listen to that one all the time.

:goodposting: I prefer "Someday I Suppose" to "The Impression That I Get". I also like their version of "Detroit Rock City" on the Kiss tribute CD.

Definitely in the running for worst "popular" song EVER

More early 90s but I'd like to nominate

Video from '90.Classic lines:

Her ego wrote cheques and credit was fast.

But her personality didn't have the cash.

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day is excellent.

And then there are many excellent songs from Blink 182 and the Foo Fighters to choose from.

It's not great music, but it's hard to beat Tubthumping for fun, upbeat replayability. It's a guilty musical pleasure, sort of the Doritos of music.
