Your favorite Podcast (1 Viewer)

Just watched what I felt like what was one of the more entertaining and funny podcasts in a long while. I’m not sure if any of you are familiar with TYSO (take your shoes off) by Rick Glassman—but it’s a pretty good podcast. In full disclosure, it is a podcast that tends to be very hit or miss. The latest one with freestyle rapper Harry Mack and Lamorne Morris is really great. If you decode to check it out, It’s definitely a better podcast to watch than it is just to listen to.

I've started listening to "How Did We Get Weird" with Vanessa Bayer (of SNL) and her brother Jonah. A nice trip down memory lane with great guests.

Also, "WikiHole With D'Arcy Carden" of The Good Place. Kind of a quiz show where you start with a topic and then work your way down Wiki with associated topics.

Recently started listening to Pivot. Very much enjoy9ing it.

They start with a short political talk (they definitely lean left but are very reasonable) then hit on a lot of tech news. Really enjoy their camaraderie and the show in general.

INTO THE HEART OF U2

Podcast with The most comprehensive dive into the history of U2 as told by Co-hosts, author & musician Bill See, & Melody Muraca, the founder of 1 of the first U2 Fanzines in the U.S. They go through U2's career album by album & tour by tour, and the perception of U2 in cultural consciousness.

28 episodes (as of this post)
Each episode is ~1 hr 20 mins

I’m about 8 episodes in. Whether you’re a life long fan like me or someone who wants to know more, this is a good historical recap.
It’s interesting to hear some new insights that I wasn’t aware of and listen to their takes on the songs.

I've been getting into Sam Harris's 'Making Sense' as of late. He typically gets good interviews and a fresh look at culture and politics. I've rarely felt it's partisan.

just discovered this one, Dalton Fischer Podcast. Not a lot of content but this one is particularly interesting. Caught a 10 minute snippet of this guy talking about where he lead the raid that captured Abu Zubaydah and it hooked me.

Sam’s a super smart dude. I enjoy his perspective.
There is one particular presidential nominee that he hates with a passion and does have trouble not going full tilt about. Still one of my favorite podcasts, but that guy he can't speak neutrally about.

As I said, super smart dude. 😉

Favorite podcast right now is Jerry Wayne Longmire's The Reckon Yard.

There's really no way to explain it in a way that does it justice. Obviously, it helps to be a fan of JW, which I am. He's basically just telling stories from his life, with each episode loosely focused on a vehicle in his life.

I don't think JW even knew where this was going when he started it, but with each episode, you will laugh, and you will cry, and relate to the shared humanity of it all.

The first couple of episodes are really good, but it's episode 5 and 6 where it becomes clear that this thing is something special.

I haven't listened to one yet but I'm a fan of his comedy, will give it a go, thanks!

Hanzus and Sessler launched their new pod, Heed the Call. First episode is out.

This one is hilarious - laughing out loud several times as I rode my bike to work this morning. Its probably best if you're old enough to remember Boris Becker's rise to fame and fortune, but that's not necessary.

The Upshot: Boris Becker: the most expensive 5 seconds of my life
I listened to the Jamie Vardy one, which was killer.

Really looking forward to listening to more of this podcast.

Good find, sir

The Rooney one is good. They have a twitter and a newsletter. Funny guys. https://www.upshot.email/

I really like Hanzus, but he really did his best to turn his last podcast into "Around the Jets." I always thought Sessler was the weak link - constantly complaining about having to do the show, taking every little comment as a personal attack, no sense of humor.

I doubt I'll try it unless I get a solid recommendation from someone.

I’m amused that Rosenthal thought, I wonder how I’ll replace those bozos… how about Jourdan Rodrigue? Meanwhile Hanzus and Sessler thought, I wonder how I’ll replace that bozo… how about Jourdan Rodrigue?

She’s great - it sucks that the podcast broke up, but I’m happy she’s on both halves. You could tell when she was on some random Thursday recap with Rosenthal a couple years ago and wouldn’t acknowledge Gravedigger until he played the drop that she would be a good fit on the show.

So what the heck is going on with Duncan’s latest on Revolutions podcast? Is this completely made up or is it some sci-fi book “history”?

I thought it was a joke and kept waiting for the punch line. When that didn't come I unsubscribed from the podcast.

Same. I listened to the announcement, then about 5 minutes of the first episode. I couldn’t tell if it were a joke. I don’t have time for this so I just dropped it.

Very odd for a history podcast.

I also like sci-fi and found it amusing. I don't think it's from any existing IP - I think it's just an original story, but told as if Duncan was covering it.

Been listening to a lot of both Dr. Andrew Huberman and Scott Galloway.

They also did one together which was really good.

Same...I'm really late to the party, but thankfully I found "The Rest is History" to take its place.
TRiH guys are great. I tried to get a work trip to NYC to line up with their coming tour but couldn’t.

Not sure if this is the preferred Podcast Recommendation thread, but here's where I landed.

Boomtown
The podcast that inspired the Taylor Sheridan series Landman.
11 of 13 episodes have been published.
Hosted by a guy named Christian Wallace who tells several different stories about the Perriman Basin region through the eyes of different people that have lived and worked there along with the socioeconomic effects of the up and down again oil industry.

For my money, it's really great story telling!
