Accumulative totals in post #28!

Ok, so the poll is flawed from the get go by not having everyone's top 4 choices for WR. I get it. I am just trying to see where the group stands. Please pick 1 from each group.

The poll is limited to only 4 groups, so that is what I had to go with.

Reasons for your choices always appreciated.

I'll start with my top 4:

Chad Johnson- I think this is the year the Bengals make headlines on the field rather than off it.

Larry Fitzgerald- This is the year he takes off with Leinert

Andre Johnson- I think the new HC tries to prove how smart he was for letting Carr go.

T.O.- as long as he is on the field, I think he is unstoppable.

What say you?

I realize this is early in the season to do the poll, but I wanted to get a conversation flowing for early drafters.

I will probably do one during mini camps, and again during the pre-season to account for injuries and the like.

CJ - I agree and with Palmer one year off surgery, I think there will be good things.

SSmith - off year last year...hoping Delhomme returns to form.

LarryFitz - him or Boldin...

MHarrison - maybe its just because I grew up in Syracuse watching him...I hope he plays and produces forever. Like Torry Holt at #4 too.

I have serious concerns about Steve Smith this season. I think Delhomme is done and with the backfield question marks, it just looks like too much risk to me.

I still see him top 10 but in the 8-10 range.

Holt

Fitz

S Smith

Wayne

I think CJ's stats take a slight dip without Henry, and with speculation that C Perry may not be ready. He'll be doubled constantly. I hope I'm wrong though. :bag:

Smith

Chad

Fitz

Roy Williams (instead of the safe picks of Holt/Harrison/TO)

I think Colston should get a little more respect. Hes in such a great position to post big numbers, and was in the top 5 before his injury.

Walker should be on this list.

2 years removed from top 5 and coming off an above average year last year. Cutler is on the rise and a more consistent running game out of Henry this year.

I wouldn't draft Walker as a top 5 but I could see him finishing close to there.

CJ

S. Smith

M. Harrison

TO

If we are talking 07, I am seriously surprised that M. Harrison is not getting more votes. The guy is still producing top numbers and I saw no signs of him slowing down last year. He will be top 3 this year.

Fitz is getting too much respect IMO in a Non-PPR league. He just doesn't put up enough yards and TD's to be considered in the top 4.

Wayne & Evans are close as well.

Not enough yards or TDs?2005: 1409 10 Tds2006: 941 6 TDs ...missed 4 games and played hurt in 2 others. His numbers may have been very close to his 05 numbers. I really look for Fitz to go to the next level.

When I say not enough. I mean not enough to be in top 4 IMO. 5-10 yes. Other guys will out produce him #'s wise. AZ will look to run the ball more this year as well. That by itself will cut into the numbers for him.

I think Colston is great but he will not be in the top 5 this year or probably ever. He should hover around the 9-15 mark.
That certainly may be true but he certainly deserves to be on the list ahead of guys like Santana & Randy Moss. Last I check neither one of those teams had a QB.

Fair point. I tend to disagree but acknowledge your view. This is why these type debates are so interesting to read and partake in.I just wonder if the play of the defense will allow for them to run more?

Just my opinion, but I prefer Santana in a nonPPR league to Colston. Sure Brees > Campbell, but Moss is still a better gamebreaker and Campbell is underrated.

Here are the total votes for each player on the poll. I'm going to be in the minority that thinks S. Smith is set for a letdown.

Steve Smith 139

Chad Johnson 121

Larry Fitz 92

Torry Holt 90

Marvin Harrison 39

Reggie Wayne 48

T.O. 38

Roy Williams 24

Andre Johnson 12

Anquan Boldin 10

Donald Driver 5

Santana Moss 2

Randy Moss 2

DJax 3

Other 7

Looks like some distinctive tiers. Not sure that it says much. Other than that maybe there is some potential over/under valuation going into the pre-season.

Well, looks like Holt is going to be overrated again.
:(
2006 #1 WR targeted down?
Also led the league in double teams.
And yet, #8 in yardage, #4 in receptions, #15 overall in TDs. I'm not sure where he ranked in FBG scoring, but I imagine it was high. The Rams add McMichael, and SJax will demand more attention than he received early in the year. Call me crazy, but there aren't many WRs I'd feel safer drafting as a top 5.

He finished #5, but there was a 5 point difference between #5 and #10.I believe his upside is limited and wouldn't rank him in my top 5 for redraft. He is a safe pick though for top 10 production.

Holt has had exactly one top 5 season in his career. Yet every year we get to hear all about how his is a top 3 WR with #1 overall capability.
Code:
Year Value Pos. Rank	Overall Rank--------------------------------------------------1999 0 35 862000 90 7 172001 49 8 292002 36 15 442003 138 2 62004 70 7 192005 71 6 152006 63 6 19
When targets start earning fantasy points let me know.

I don't give LHUCKS many of these but.... :bag:

These are the guys I picked but went Holt, Chad, Fitz then Smith....IMO Holt and Chad have to be on everyone's list and the other two spots are debateable.
I don't agree that Holt has to be on everyone's list. He is a very good WR and is top 5-8. However, he has seen his best days. Last year was real feast or famine for him. He was either huge or not doing much. I have Chad, Smith, Fitz, Wayne. I know I am higher on Wayne than others might be. This is going to be the season he takes a major step forward and becomes a #1WR every week.

I am surprised Burress wasn't mentioned at all. He finished WR4 in my league last year. Where do you guys see him finishing this year? Top 10? Top 20? Lower?
