Zac Stacy Hype Train - Rams (1 Viewer)

Have to be happy with today if you're a Stacy owner - didn't do much on the ground, but got the goal line carry and ended up with around 20 points in a PPR league. That's what RB1s do.
It didnt look like he left many yards out there. They were stuffing the run. When you put 8 men in the box it enables the Austin to go 80 yards on a crossing pattern b/c he only has to beat three guys.

Im sure his YPC will be viewed that way by the team and by the fact that they got the W. I wouldnt be surprised, if asked the question, that Fisher would be more impressed by the Colts game for Stacy over the more-impressive-YPC Titans game for those reasons.

I'm satisfied with Stacy's game this week. I am also glad to see the Rams able to pass the ball and score in other ways, so teams aren't stacking the box with Clemons in there.

One thing I didn't like was Cunningham looked good when running the ball, even if you take out that last drive in garbage time. Hopefully that doesn't take away from Stacy's carries.

Can rams homers chime in a bit, If you are riding the Stacy train should Cunningham be a must add? Or would they trot D.Rich back out there too?

 Good question.

As a person not thrilled with what I saw before the season, has he actually looked really good? I haven't been watching any Rams games and I'm considering trading for him in one my leagues and I can't force myself to try and get him based on how I previously viewed him. Yes I have to get over the fact that I was wrong (if I am about him) and all but is actually he here to stay or a product of volume? Clearly he is better than D-Rich but will he be replaced in the coming seasons like Daryl was?

Any skeptics of Stacy still?

plenty of reason for skepticism...

it's way too early to declare him a perennial anything. That being said, he's a lottery ticket that's hit with 4 of the 6 numbers. One more and you have a rare 3-down starter for a year or two or three. Hit two more numbers and he could be perennial top 5. Hit none of them? What do they pay for 4 of 6 numbers? Very little I think...

As long as Stacy stays healthy, he will be the everydown back. Next in line is Benny Cunningham, who I'd rather have as handcuff over Richardson.

As a Rams "homer" I'm really liking what I'm seeing. For the ROY he's a low RB1 high RB2 but my real concern is for next year. I can easily see the rams picking up another RB high in the draft (first 3 rounds) and F-ing up Stacy's long term value as another guy in a RBBC...

Why would they draft another RB? Or at least, why would they use a high pick on a RB when Stacy has played this well? I would have thought the team has more pressing needs now and the best case scenario for a RB they draft would be that he comes in and performs like Stacy! I could see them using a late pick on a RB but it would still be Stacy's job to lose.

From your lips to gods ears but as a Rams fan I've seen a long history of poor decisions. Snead and Fisher have made some pretty solid decisions so far but it's just a gut feeling.

haha, yeah I guess you have to account for the possibility of poor decisions. In that case, wouldn't surprise me.

If we've learned anything, it's that you don't need to spend high picks on RBs. Stacy himself is an example of this.
And Romo and Warner prove that you don't even need to draft your franchise QB.

As silly as I think these statements are, I highly doubt the Rams spend a high pick on a RB next year. Too many holes to fill.

IRL QBs are almost always significantly more highly valued and sought after than RBs, and by a wide margin.

RB is the most fungible skill position and the easiest to fill with JAG and still get decent production.

As far as trade value, in a 12 team PPR redraft, someone just offered Ray Rice for Stacy and I am likely turning him down. Stacy looks the part right now.

run from that offer. Rice is done this year and there is nothing to suggest that Stacy won't continue to rack it up against any defense week-in and week-out.

Yeah, I politely declined. I knew off the bat, but with high profile named guys I always look for a glimmer of hope. None there, unfortunately.

Lance Briggs just ruled out for next week's game against the Rams. The Bears are already giving up some yardage on the ground, this might be a pretty good matchup for Stacy and Co.

He's a must start against that defense but I'd temper expectations only because the Bears offense could post 40 points on the Rams and get them to abandon the run relatively early. Feels weird to say that about the Bears.

Good point, but Stacy could still prove relevant since he's been their three down back.

Here's my team's starters right now.

QB: Brees

RB: AD, Fred Jackson

WR: Jordy, Antonio Brown

TE: Gronk

FLEX: Julius Thomas

Stacy owner needs a TE and I want to replace Freddie Jackson. Thoughts on Thomas for Stacy? My flex would then most likely be Amendola. I'm really leaning towards doing it. Love what Stacy's been doing lately.

I'd probably make the trade. Need Amendola to stay healthy though.

Stacy owners, are you buying his #1 ranking this week? Being from Chicago, I understand their piss poor run D but not sold that he out performs an AP or Charles.

For those w/ Stacy, who are you sitting him in favor of

I'd bet on him over Peterson this week, sure, with AP's groin causing him some issues. You can probably count on 25 carries against maybe the worst run D in the league.

hes already out performed Charles once this year

So base on one weeks performance > Charles, you consider him equal and purely consider match ups? Some player are must starts, (see AP) and I find it hard to believe teams are sitting them for Stacy even though he's #1 rb this week.

125+ yards and 2 scores. That's what I see from him this week. That's RB1 numbers to me. If someone out scores that so be it. Unless it's Charles, cause I'm playing him.

Zac Stacy already outscored ADP in my main league in Weeks 7, 8, and 9. They tied in Week 6.

Maybe it is a good idea to go ahead and start whichever Top 10 RBs you own.

I'd be shocked if that happened. The Rams actually have a very good defense, better than anything the Bears have faced since Cincinnati in week 1. They get a ton of pressure on QB's, and have ballhawking, though occasionally burnable CB's.

I agree that if you own him you should most likely start him but 2 scores? Really? Do you honestly ever project any RB with 2 scores?

I think he will have 2 different 3 down opportunities within the 5 yard line, maybe 3 (who knows, even 4) but to confidently predict 2 TDs, which has a huge impact in fantasy, seems quite optimistic.

Dude, sthu, you're reverse jinxing here.

He has 4 TD's in as many weeks and is the main focus of this offense. He had 2 rushing TDs in week 8 from the 3 and 9 yard line and a TD week 9 from the 1. Its obvious that they are going to pound him inside the 10 and he has a nose for the endzone. Chicago's run defense was pretty good weeks 1, 2 and 3 but has since fallen off the face of the earth. They are ranked 24th against the run this season, but I'd wager they've given up more FF points to RBs over the last month than almost every team not named Cowboys. After the mic drop performance that Tavon put up last week, Chicago (IMO) will play to its strengths and take him out of the game, opening up opportunities for Stacy.

Is he a mortal lock to score 2 this week? Of course not-no one is.. he's right at the top of my list of potential 2TD guys though. We'll see. Should be fun.

This matchup is tailor made for Stacy this week. He faces a run def that made Ray Rice fantasy viable last week! I am a Bears fan and I can tell you that the heart of the run defense is gone! They are a turnstile defense against one the best run offenses out there over the past 4 weeks. The only RB this week I wouldn't start him over is Charles. No one else comes close and I would still bet he outscores Charles this week.

Benny looked good in his place. I knew I should have cuffed him on the cheap this week, now I might not get him.

Zac was on his way to a monster game today.
