Zack Miller is a Seahawk (1 Viewer)

From a fantasy perspective, Miller would seem to be the top TE in Seattle, but Carlson is there too and I don't like the QB situation.

Is Seattle really an improvement over Oakland? I suppose if you're Zach Miller's pockets, it's all good.

"Is Seattle really better than _______ ? If you're ________ pockets its all good"I keep hearing that OVER AND OVER again yet Hawks are pulling in STUDS left and right. Maybe there is something more than $$$$$...ever think that?

Hard to believe a team would build all around at all these positions and not get a decent QB.

With Tavaris as the QB right now...no it is not an improvement. Miller is part of the future that Pete Carrol is building. He is going with youth (Miller is 24 or 25) and looking to add the franchise QB next year via a draft pick (probably a high one through a trade or most likely due to an awful record).

frack... that's not good for Carlson
It is good for us that kept drafting him expecting much more though.
Ha... dynasty owner here :bag: It might turn out good in that now he might be on the trading block and could end up going somewhere where they could utilize some TE help... Buffalo perhaps? I don't think this really hurts Zack's potential all that much. Tavaris isn't a great QB but he did seem to lock in on the TE. I think Shank caught like 6 or 7 TDs from Jackson in the 2nd half or so of that season where he and Gus Ferrotte were the Vikes main QBs. I was cautiously optimistic for Carlson.

Really? So it would be better to get the QB, let him get killed, then build the team? They are doing it EXACTLY the way you should. Hard to believe the national media doesn't see it.

I'm also a Carlson owner and I wasn't counting on him this year anyways. I think this trade is good news for Carlson owners because this almost ensures that he leaves next year. This year was going to be a waste anyways.

Sirius NFL Radio reported rumors of Carlson to Giants as part of a trade for Osi. They haven't seemed too interested in keeping Boss.

Multi-league owner here too, and I wasnt sure what to do with him this offseason other than camp on him this year and hoped things turned around.Last year, Cameron Morrah was taking snaps away from Carlson which really was scaring me after him trending up in prior years.I can't think of too many TE-needy/friendly teams right now where he could be dealt. Adam Schefter floated the Carlson/pick for Osi thing on Twitter, but most things are coming up Osi to Baltimore, so I'm not sure a move to NY would happen. It would make a lot of sense for us Carlson owners though...

They could of gotten Orton for a very cheap price, and Orton is head and shoulders better than anyone they have.

They are thinking long term...not this season. They are not going to win the superbowl this season. The inability for ANYONE to see long term is amazing.

It is the "SUCK FOR LUCK" rebuilding plan as in Andrew Luck.

I have Zach Miller in a dynasty league. And was really hoping he would stay in Oak. Jason Campbell isn't a great QB but he uses his TE's well (Cooley and then Zach Miller) This is just awful news. Right as I heard the news I could hear his value going down the :toilet:

I mean Seattle has crappy Tavaris Jackson and Whitehurst as QB's. Yeah thats something to get excited about. By the end of the year Zach Miller will be doing this :shark: to get back to OAK. I mean Zach will hardly get used at all except to block. They have to throw to Sidney Rice and Big Mike WIlliams. This is just the worst news possible.

Some funny tweets coming in from Raiders fans about Miller leaving

rwcity redwood city

Zach Miller leaves the Raiders and now I paid $1.49 for a bean burrito. This is my 9/11. #neverforget

Here is the haul in for Miller if anyone hasn't seen it

@AdamSchefter: Here's the Zach Miller contract with the Seahawks: 5 years, $34 million, including $17 million guaranteed.#Raiders

Hard to get excited about this move. I don't know, it's possible he can barely crack the top 10 Te's this sesson with Jackson but there's very little upside past that.

To me, that's one TE off the board I kind of wanted later in drafts, now not so much.

Is T-Jax worse than the daunting combo of Jason Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski?

Zach Miller is barely a TE2 now. This news is very disheartening. I'm like why, why me Lord? Take anyone else from the Raiders but not Zach. You knew what you were getting with Zach in OAK. Now in SEA you get :tumbleweed: :sadbanana:

Couldn't agree with this Tweet more

Zach Miller can't wait to catch balls from a real QB after years with the #Raiders... Oh. He went to the Seahawks? Nevermind. #NFL

If anyone thinks they will have a chance at Luck they are in fantasy land. In this division, they should make the playoffs again this year. They've done nothing but get loads better.

Tjax is worse than both of them individually...he is in the fight for worst starting qb this season thats how bad he is...

I read this at work today and slammed my head on my desk I got looked at like wtf and just shook my head...I have him in like half my leagues and loved him now he could be useless....

I totaly agree PSUFan2. This makes me so mad. :hot: :wall:  I mean yeah Zach is getting a load of money. I got to think that OAK offered close to that.

I guess Zach realizes something that neither of you do...that this offense built in Seattle is young, super talented, and signed long term for reasonable rates. All they need is a QB, which they are 1 year away from. I am excited to hear you guys talk about this offense next year when its Matt Barkley taking the reigns. Nothin' but upside at that point.

Probably more like 1.5 years before Barkley puts'em in a body bag.

I guess Miller is quoted as saying his final decision was not about the Money. Then what was it about I wonder. You get Tavaris Jackson throwing to you??? Nope that can't be it. You get to be the main focal point on Offense??? Nope that can't be it. You get to go to a Super Bowl contender??? NOpe that can't be it. I'm not sure what it is Miller saw in going to Seattle. I mean are there cheerleaders that much hotter???

I just don't get it.

It's the plan. Seattle has a plan to build a contender and KEEP it a contender for years to come. Just ask us Seahawk fans. we know that they are not a superbowl team this year, but each and everyone of us is excited to see what MGMT is doing. The plan is clear as day, and its excited to see it executed like this. Building around the QB rather than putting a rookie QB in there to be killed. You can get a rookie in there next year and he'll have a sturdy line, great WRs, a set of TEs and backs that can do it all. It's a beautiful plan. Everyone in Seattle-Land is excited about it.

This is starting to look like a situation where a bad QB could still be a decent fantasy play. Especially one who might run for a few scores.

Thats great so he underperforms on my roster with tarvaris then you get Barkley(as you say) and then I get to deal with 1-2 years of a young QB who stinks then if Barkley becomes good(which we will see) then he gets to compete with stud SID RICE, bmw, deon, etc for targets...sounds grand NOTTTT

and let me say this I have no problem with their plan and I do think they are going about this right all I am saying is this sucks for Zach Miller's fantasy value.

Im sure you weighed on his mind while making his decision but he opted not to care.

I guess the Seahawks are signing players who are interested in winning, not their personal stats. Sounds Great! No, Seriously...it does. It sounds freakin' awesome!

Seattle is in a much better position to win a Super Bowl in the near future than Oakland is. Just look at the difference in how each organization is run. Carroll is also a crazy good recruiter and he has everyone buying to what he is selling. Tom Cable being there could have also been a factor. Maybe Miller saw something exciting happening in Seattle and wanted to be a part of it.

Lets just keep in mind guys this is a Fantasy Football League Forum. So we talk about the value of Fantasy Football players. Its pretty easy to see why Zach Millers value just went

1)Tavaris Jackson as your QB (I'm no genius but he's not exactly Aaron Rodgers  .)

2) Way more targets to compete with (Forsett, Sidney Rice, Big Mike Williams, Deon B,Carlson)

3) He goes to a young team that has to mesh together in a short amount of time.
