zombie scenario (1 Viewer)

Re-read Max Brook's book "The Zombie Survival Guide". I already know one of the best places to go would be as far north as humanly possible. Get a big RV or SUV, stock up on everything that will be needed (in the book).
I think the South Pole is pretty cold too.

A few people got it right (buying the biggest, best, most comfortable boat they can find). But then they'll be dead for being dumb enough to pull on to any land that might be connected to the developed world by boat/airplane.

So my plan is to hide out on one of these islands they'll be sailing to, then, once they're far enough away from the boat to do anything about it, race my family from our hiding place on to the boat and set sail to the open sea. Never to set foot on dry land again. Live on what food the sea will provide. Using rain for drinking water. Et al.

Scenario:

You work at a gov't lab, and you are present when lab protocol breaks down and a zombie virus spreads to some lab personnel. You assume that the virus will spread to the general population soon, and you estimate you have about 2 weeks to get all your stuff in order and make a move. You also estimate you probably have a month, at most 2 months, before all systems break down and the world ends up in total anarchy.

You have a little time to make a plan, you can take anything you want, go anywhere you want and no one knows yet what's about to come. What do you do?
First, what is your job?

You mean live the life of Pi?

I suspect more like the life of Jose Ivan Alvarengo.

buy a really nice big boat, like 500k luxury dealio that holds 2000 gallons of diesel. Load that sucker up with supplies to last a year, tons of guns and ammo, take the family out to one of a few islands in the Columbia river and then claim the island. i'll take my chances
And if you're broke?
Take out the most money you can from your credit cards and "rent" one.

Head to a remote island on boat with supplies, weapons, gold bullion, & family. Then:

  • Start a thread warning the FFA
  • Get mocked
  • Bump at a later date to insert :lmao:
:goodposting:

That would be the best part.
Has it not occurred to anyone else that maybe this is exactly what Tommyboy is doing......
Obviously, the first thing I do is to start a thread to get ideas.

If you wait until the outbreak has begun, it's already too late. That's why I live in an abandoned missile silo stocked with 5 years worth of MREs. :coffee:

As a city boy, I am heading to the Sports Authority and loading up on all the hunting, fishing and camping equipment that I can grab. This includes a slew of books and how to manuals so I can try and teach myself and my chosen few that I Allow To Come With Me To survive.

I will also be heading to the woods using the remoteness as my buffer while not leaving myself potentially stranded like those all on the island.

Living on a boat out in the middle of the ocean not being able to get more than 30 feet from my wife for the rest of my life? #### that!

I know of about a 30 cabins in the Rockies Mountains that run off solar power. They have running water and wood burning fire places. I'd scout those out and pick the most difficult one to access that's easiest to defend. Has to have access to clean drinking water. Build a fence around it. Then I'd buy the following.

10 years worth of MRE'S

Guns/ ammo

Sanitary supplies

10,000 lighters

Medical supplies

A couple 4 wheelers

Any survival books I can get my hands on.

Radio

As many containers of fuel as I can drive up to the cabin.

All the clothes I can take.

Seeds.

Farming supplies.

Wife

Fishing gear.
