As mentioned by Cecil in the latest "Fantasy Buzz" ....the "truth" is nobody fears Alex Smith. Defenses can stack the box and dare Smith to beat them. Seattle on paper was a cake matchup for Gore and he couldn't get anything going. You can be sure the Saints defense will take notice.

You can't stack the box with Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree. Crabtree will come around at least to the point where single coverage won't do the trick. Smith is average enough to be able to get them the ball. Gore will be fine.

Teams will be stacking vs. Chris Johnson, MJD, Gore, SJax, Greene, Moreno, Wells, D. Williams, C. Willams, J. Charles, Best, Harrison and a number of other backs on teams without good passing attacks. It's what he's faced the last few years, he'll be fine.

the "truth" is nobody feared him last year and gore scored 13 touchdowns. Gore could've scored last week if the line opened up a hole for him in the 1st quarter. SF is stupid. They really just need to go pay for a QB.

It's not like you can just go out and buy a good QB. You either have to groom someone or buy a has-been that might have some legs left. It's all a gamble.

Houston bought Schaub for two seconds and a flipped first. I think that worked out ok.

This.SF looked as if they didn't show up last week (especially Crabtree) and SEA was all fired up. Total trap game. I wouldn't want to be in SF practice sessions this week.....Singletary likely gave them an earful.A Smith is a mediocre QB at best, but still you have to respect V Davis and Crabtree. You don't need elite QB play to have a stud fantasy RB......Gore has elite talent, I wouldn't worry yet.
