Dynasty & Redraft Antonio Gandy-Golden (6’4/220), WR Liberty (1 Viewer)

Washington coach Ron Rivera said fourth-round WR Antonio Gandy-Golden has “been impressive” early in training camp.

There was talk Gandy-Golden could start this offseason, but that’s since died down. Washington has been giving Steven Sims and Dontrelle Inman first-team reps with Terry McLaurin in three-wide sets. Gandy-Golden should push for snaps as he gets more acclimated in OC Scott Turner's offense. Inman is an ex-CFLer turned career journeyman that won’t have much of a leash if he starts Week 1.

Inman is of course a placeholder because Harmon went down after they failed to sign Amari Cooper, AGG has very little competition for that other outside WR job unless someone unexpected breaks out (which isn’t happening). They're cross-training Sims there and he’s an electric talent but they have to know that he’s best in the slot, he’s a shrimp with short arms and small hands who is more quick than fast. He does not belong on the outside except for certain looks (expect tons of motion, jet sweeps and PA fakes, etc. from Turner). This WR corps is extremely young and full of questions but there’s no doubt that when he’s reassuring, it’ll be better with AGG outside and Sims in the slot, both on the field together, rather than Sims on the outside and someone like Quinn in the slot. Gibson is also getting some WR work but isn’t going to play a full-time role there, he’ll have packages he’s a part of, be in the backfield a lot, and motion to the LOS, etc. Same with McKissic.

This guy might just have a golden opportunity staring him in the face in a couple months, amirite?

Seriously, I hope this kid can turn out to be something.  I threw a dart on him in our rookie draft back in May at the 4.07.

Washington coach Ron Rivera said Antonio Gandy-Golden has struggled to pick up the offense.

“He’s got to learn what he’s supposed to do,” said Rivera. “He’s still making mistakes out there —  where to get lined up, where the motion and movement is for him to do those things and how to do his routes.” It’s further confirmation Gandy-Golden is behind the rest of the receivers. Washington has been giving first-team reps to Dontrelle Inman alongside Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims. Gandy-Golden may not open the season higher than the No. 4 option.

Antonio Gandy-Golden had one rush for 22 yards in Washington's Week 3 loss to the Browns.

The rookie was targeted twice but didn't have a reception. Gandy-Golden's 22-yard run ended with a vicious welcome-to-the-NFL hit that sent him flying out of bounds. Gandy-Golden, like all receivers in the Football Team offense not named Terry McLaurin, isn't usable for fantasy purposes.

Antonio Gandy-Golden (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday.

He left Week 6 with a pulled hamstring, and coach Ron Rivera made it sound like the rookie won't play this week against the Cowboys. It's anybody's guess as to what Washington's plan is behind Terry McLaurin.

Washington activated WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (hamstring) from injured reserve.

Gandy-Golden has been sidelined since Week 6. He's practiced with the team the last couple weeks and should be active Sunday against the Panthers. Washington released Dontrelle Inman to make room for Gandy-Golden. The fourth-round rookie should see most of his snaps in four-wide sets.
