btw, i don't believe spotlighting can exist this far into an endeavor such as this, but ...
this tune laid the template for one of the great "punk-ish" acts on the British side ... it's a real freakin' jam.

One of my friends from high school played basketball for William and Mary in Virginia, and he lived with Bruce's parents. They hosted a player from the team, and it happened to be him. He said they were so nice, and that Bruce was a really good basketball player, and he was offered a scholarship to play for a college, but opted to pursue music. I reckon he chose the right path. Thankfully he didn't become a victim of the Grateful Dead keyboard curse when he played for the band for a couple of years. "Fortunate Son" below is not CCR's song, it is Bruce's song. "Comfortably Numb" is Pink Floyd's song, and it flows back into "Fortunate Son."

But that was surprising about The Jam and Weller, though you've written about your love of both. I hope, by the way, that my "seventeen" didn't come across as even the slightest of passive-aggressive knocks, Pip. Hope it didn't come off that way. That was for otb's edification that we've got it, we're on it, and hopefully decently enough for his estimation.
I dig this crew of people and trust their musical endeavors and recommendations. I literally searched "Paul Weller" and "The Jam" and hadn't realized until then that you'd really delved into him and them. Good work. Something to take into consideration, as I consider your tastes excellent with thought-out reasons behind them. Truly a pleasure, man.
