Your Go-To Phrase(s) (1 Viewer)

I find myself saying certain phrases quite a lot in my day-to-day.  Some, even, I will just utter without even thinking.

One came to mind on my drive to work this morning, where some buttclown screamed down the road with his loud exhaust at 55+ MPH in a 45 zone.

I uttered "oh yeah, look at you" to myself.  That is my go-to, especially when some idiot is driving like a moron and/or revving his souped-up engine.

You got any go-to phrases that you find yourself using for certain occasions?

Schtick welcome.

I use "rain or shine" a lot when people say, "See you tomorrow." I use it so much people will even say it for me.

Same exact scenarios, I growl "Git Sum!" in my red-neckiest voice. Usually it comes out of my mouth before I even realize it.

“Oh good!”  When receiving bad news.  Said sarcastically.

Text from a tenant - Oh Good!

Rodgers got COVID - Oh Good!

Wheel bearing goes - Oh Good!

Take it next level and add the "ie".................Oh Goodie!

or it could be a "y".........Oh Goody!

your choice.

I can’t seem to cheer a good play by my kids volleyball team with anything other than “let’s gooooooo”.

I like when they zoom by real fast only to get stopped by an obvious red light that I coast up to.

"Got to that red light reallll fast now didgent you?"

I wrote a punk song (only in my head) for these guys.  It goes.

You're the first that gets to stop, the first that gets to stop!

You're the first that gets to stop, the first that gets to stop!

You're the first that gets to stop, the first that gets to stop!

You're the first that gets to stop!

Cuuuuun-graaaaaaaaa-juuuuuuuu-LATIONS!

These exact exchanges happen multiple times per week.

Coworker (first thing in the morning):  How's it going?
Me:  So far so good, but it's early.  (meaning it can only get worse from here.)

Coworker (usually calling later in the day):  What's going on?
Me:  All kinds of fun stuff.
Coworker: Really?
Me:  No, not really.

Whenever I mention a measurement of something, temperature, etc., I add "American" to the end:

Mrs. Steiner: What temperature does the oven have to be set to?

Me: 450 degrees American.

Because I work at a military medical facility, there are two phrases I seem to say 4-5 times/day:

You can't spell 'disaster' without DISA.

You can't spell 'diarrhea' without DHA.

Can't go wrong with Seinfeld references. Anytime someone you know has a new girlfriend/boyfriend "Is that your new Schmoopie?
I can bring almost any scenario around to a Seinfeld reference.  My kids and wife just roll their eyes and many other people have no idea where it is coming from.  Then I remind them it's from Seinfeld and most get the reference after that hint.

My daughter and I often use the phrase “your mom”…..Even if it doesn’t make sense.

Wife: I fell alseep

Me: Your mom fell asleep

Daughter: Ohhhhhh followed by a British accent: You got absolutely wrecked

Wife: ☹️

Sometimes I let it go.

Wife: This has a lot of fat

Me: Your……

When I'm leaving work, going home from any sort of gathering, I say:

'I'm going to make like a baby and head out.'

I also say 'no worries; a lot

and 'Look at you!'

Also say 'I'm still breathing' when asked how's things going?  How you doing? etc

My boss throws out the “know what I mean” phrase at least 4 or 5 times in a 10 minute conversation

Some of my time tested favorites:

"He/She/They are dumber than a box of rocks"

"That's a GREAT IDEA!!! It's not a new idea" (we tend to reinvent the wheel where I work a lot and as a long tenured employee i can usually reference back to the first time we tried something stupid)
