Where would we play at? Is that a stupid question? Is there a site we will log on to play?

Never mind. I understand now. Chess Time is the app. Does that work on a computer as I don't have a cell phone.

It should. If it doesn't you can play your games elsewhere by agreement or even in this thread. Doesnt matter.

Haven't played in years but I'll give it a shot.

If I'm allowed I'd like to be in. You said at least two or three moves a day? How quickly are you guys thinking of playing?

2-3 moves is probably the minimum. We don't want to be too slow or people are going to drop out. A preferable speed is to finish a game within 2-3 days of its start.

Don't any of you people work?
:lmao:

Judging from the games I've played with Tasker so far, if we complete this tournament at his current pace we should have this thing done by Christmas.

Honestly, the chances of me having all of these games done in 2-3 days are nearly zero. I don't have the time to play at work, at least not this time of year. I can usually get a few moves in at night but that's really it. Last night I didn't get home until almost 11.

May be best if we reschedule this thing for late April.

Yeah, probably this tourney is not for you Steve. I don't personally mind the slowness, but I know I'll never be able to keep it together if we have to wait that long. Once a round has started, we can't move on to the next round until every game has been completed.

I thought all of the games were played at once....I thought you meant that the entire tournament would be effectively over in like 3 days.

1 game at a time is much more reasonable.

No, everyone plays round 1. Opponents and colors are picked randomly. Starting in round 2, those with one win play each other, and those with one loss play each other, etc., and this continues each round- you should always play somebody with a similar record to you. Also everyone should get 3 games as white and 3 as black, though I can't guarantee this.

In, but I've got you on ignore so I'll only be able to see posts that others have quoted. I don't think your pm's are blocked though.

Thanks for organizing this!

Um no.

If you want to be in a tournament that I run, you need to take me off ignore. When you do, let me know and I'll gladly put you in.

Currently we have 18, which is more than enough. We'll leave it open until tonight, and I'll set up an order after that.

People that missed signing up can start in the second round with a half point bye.

if you end up with a good even number, feel free to use me as a sub for someone that drops out.

I'll play, but I don't know wtf chess time is. Prob only be able to play in the evenings.

I used to be decent, but haven't played much in quite some time.

It's an app. Available on iPhone, probably on your laptop as well.
Couldn't find it for the kindle fire, but installed it on my kid's ipod.
