You're telling me that I heard about it before the game, but Coach Gibbs didn't?
Where's the emoticon of a bull taking a giant dump?
This is what I was thinking. I seem to remember news that the tribute was going to happen well before the game.
I don't remember that. My recollection was that they were talking about doing
something to honor Taylor, but my recollection was nobody was talking about going with 10 men on the first play. Regardless, what has been leaked to the media need not have been conveyed to Gibbs. Gibbs himself after the game said he didn't know about it, and he had every reason to want to say the opposite given the questions that that raised about how in control and in touch he was with his own team. Williams screwed that one up.
Now, let's get back to the present. I have no doubt - zero, none - that this story about Williams disrespecting Gibbs in his interviews is a bunch of garbage. GW has done nothing but praise Gibbs for four years, and he didn't have to stick around that long if the opposite were true, especially because he has been and remains considered around the league as a good head coaching candidate. This looks like a smear campaign from the Redskins front office attempting to justify
not hiring a guy who is very popular with both players and fans.
I can't tell you how much that disgusts me as a 'Skins fan to have to write something like that.
