Since he's staying in Tennessee, there's really no need to.Somebody tell me why I should be enthused about Ray Horton.

We're still paying him...might as well double him up.
God, I need to get a job with the browns. I could use the extra income when they are paying me while I am on the beach in Waikiki. We're still paying him...might as well double him up.
Don't know recent history by he's got a damn impressive resume. What's Al Saunders been up to lately anyway?
comments
Hue Jackson is expected to land Al Saunders, his former Raiders offensive coordinator...One of the most respected minds in offensive football, Saunders, 68, served as Jackson's coordinator when he was head coach of the Raiders in 2011. Together, they coaxed 6,072 yards out of the offense -- second most in club history.
They also produced 84 explosive plays of 20 yards or more for second in the NFL, and finished first in two-minute scoring offense.
Jackson and Saunders, the former head coach of the Chargers from 1986-88, also worked together in Baltimore, coaching second-year quarterback Joe Flacco to his second playoff berth in 2009.
...He took over for late Hall of Fame finalist Don "Air'' Coryell as head coach of the Chargers in 1986 and served as full-time head coach there in 1987-88.
He also worked under **** Vermeil in St. Louis, where he was part of the "Greatest Show on Turf'' Super Bowl champions. As associate head coach/receivers, Saunders helped the Rams set NFL records in 2000 in yards (7,075), passing yards (5,232) and points (540).
Saunders, who's been a coordinator for the Chiefs, Redskins, Rams and Raiders, has been a part of 15 playoff teams, five division titles and one Super Bowl championship. On 20 occasions, his offensive units have ranked first in the NFL in either total offense, passing, rushing or scoring...
Hope not. He'll make the same not working that he would working. Take the year off, re-assess everything, then come back stronger in a year.Flip to QB coach in Philly. He'll be an OC again.
We keep dicking around with Horton and the rest of the well seems to be drying up at DC....Schwartz off to Philly. Vrabel is interviewing in SF but Mangini might retain that job. Who are the other possibilities? Lovie? Someone from the defensive staff in Cincy? Singletary (heard his name bounced around)?
Who said Pettine would have a DC gig lined up within days after being unemployed? Maybe that wasn't here...
that was me. maybe he'll take a year off, but i doubt it.Flip to QB coach in Philly. He'll be an OC again.

Yeah, it's hard to argue or be upset with anything to this point.I dunno... The signings seem hella impressive to me, considering what a disaster we've been
I do like signing coordinators that have experience, so that's a plus.Number 9 in total yards allowed.Thought I heard then say that on the radio. Top 10 in points allowed maybe? Here is a link to the full podcast where that blurb came from is out and it has much more including Cosell's take on the top-four QBs from this draft but what is very-interesting for Browns fans he was asked which QB would be the best-fit for Hue Jackson's offense."My initial study of Goff tells me that I think (Goff is) a more natural and better overall thrower than (Titans QB Marcus) Mariota. I think he's a better prospect than Jameis Winston," Cosell told WGFX-FM in Nashville, Tennessee.
LINK:"I think Goff fits any system. I don't think Goff is system specific," he said. "I think his skill set, his throwing skill set, his looseness as an athlete, his light feet, I think he fits, theoretically, any system. He would be my choice right now (for the Browns). He could run (head coach) Hue Jackson's system no problem."

Hope it doesnt come to that.yep.amnesiac said:i wonder how much the Browns are going to give up to move up to the #1 pick?
I am thinking this is PROBABLY correct.Dont think the Browns have to move up, at all, to get Goff.
Who is the danger of moving up, honestly?
If someone jumps us, just take Bosa.amnesiac said:i wonder how much the Browns are going to give up to move up to the #1 pick?
If they truly truly truly truly feel a QB is worth is, then I don't have a problem with moving up for #1.If someone jumps us, just take Bosa.amnesiac said:i wonder how much the Browns are going to give up to move up to the #1 pick?
I don't see a need to move up. If Goff goes 1st (big if IMO), then you take Bosa - or trade down a few spots with a team that wants Bosa - then get your QB later. Let the Combine and Pro-Days help whittle the choices down. I'm sure the analytical minds won't ignore another QB Study - so do one and find the right QB for this team. Something tells me the FO will do their due diligence this time and actually follow the data as it is presented. I'm not overly worried about the draft - but I think it would be entirely stupid of this team to trade away any picks this year to move up to 1.1 from 1.2.If they truly truly truly truly feel a QB is worth is, then I don't have a problem with moving up for #1.If someone jumps us, just take Bosa.amnesiac said:i wonder how much the Browns are going to give up to move up to the #1 pick?
If we trade our entire 2016 and 2017 for a guy who ends up a really good QB it would be worth it.
Now, obviously we would not have to give anywhere remotely close to that much, but if they really feel a guy is a stud talent, get him. If not, if they are not completely sold, then please god do not move up.
Considering they have a new front office who endorse a completely different philosophy than previous regimes, seems foolish to use this argument that it's the " same old Browns. "imo, it's not wether they ARE going to trade up, or IF they should trade up, it's a question of HOW MUCH they are going to give up to trade up.
it's the Browns. they will find a way to Browns this draft.

I don't see that another change automatically eliminates the "same old Browns" label anymore.
I am betting on another back being brought in. Duke will have a role. Crow will have to earn his. He needs to play better than last year to do so.Sorry if it has been discussed but who's the RB to own under Jackson? Or are we gonna see a Hill/Gio time share with Crowell and Duke.
My guess is that Duke has his own defined role no matter who else is brought in (with potential for more work if everyone else sucks), Crow will be our 3rd back, and someone else is the starter.I am betting on another back being brought in. Not sure but Duke looks like a real sleeper next year.... if the Browns get a decent starting QB.Sorry if it has been discussed but who's the RB to own under Jackson? Or are we gonna see a Hill/Gio time share with Crowell and Duke.
I thought the same this time last year, but he had issues all season between the tackles.Brooklyn70 said:Duke is a complete back ready to assume three down role.

Easy, killer. Crow was terrible for most of the year.lolwut?Brooklyn70 said:Duke is a complete back ready to assume three down role.
the guy is a brutal running RB.... absolute dogcrap this year getting the ball handed off to him.
Crow looked really good at the end of the year, and is the MUCH better runner.
Duke is solid as all hell in the pass game. That's about it
He's big enough to be a 3 down back, but with Hue in charge, I don't see it happening. With Hue Jackosn, you can pretty much guarantee he brings over his Cincy philosophy of running the ball with the bigger back and bringing in Johnson as the pass catching back. He will probably get the same % of carries Gio got. Forget about anything other than RBBC with the bigger back taking the GL carries. Crow or Watson. Crow's potential fumbling could open the door for Watson to be the Jeremy Hill for Hue.I thought the same this time last year, but he had issues all season between the tackles.Brooklyn70 said:Duke is a complete back ready to assume three down role.
ZERO fumbles on 185 carries.Crow's potential fumbling could open the door for Watson to be the Jeremy Hill for Hue.
like I said... ended the season pretty hot.Easy, killer. Crow was terrible for most of the year.
Career touches per fumble, current backs:ZERO fumbles on 185 carries.Crow's potential fumbling could open the door for Watson to be the Jeremy Hill for Hue.
