My buddy is from there. He claims its pretty cool and laid back. Was Tangier the place where Bourne was chasing that guy on the scooter before the explosion?Morocco, specifically because if you move to -- and stay in -- the right neighborhood(s) in Tangier, you're pretty much in Europe, both culturally and geographically.
Well almost all the major cities were designed by the Europeans, so most of them at least have a European feel.Is there a legit answer for "what's the most European city in Africa?"
Do they hang out with Die Antwoord? My neighbors moved to South Africa two years ago. Live in Pretoria. They seem to like it ok.
I loved Capetown. It was beautiful and a lot of fun.Well almost all the major cities were designed by the Europeans, so most of them at least have a European feel.Is there a legit answer for "what's the most European city in Africa?"
Pretoria and Capetown are both very European, the cities in Morocco and Tunisia look like Spain. Lagos is pretty interesting also, lots of beautiful neighborhoods in that city.
ahemProbably Botswana or Namibia, Tanzania and South Africa would be my next tier.
Algeria, Tchad, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Somalia, Mozambique are countries you wouldn't want to even change planes in.
South Africa. Cape Town has a bit of a San Francisco vibe to it. Nice topography over looking the ocean. Just don't swim in the ocean. Great white attacks 50 yards offshore if that.Hypothetically speaking, which country would be ideal to raise a family?
Never been there. Generally I would probably never choose by free will to live in an Arab country.ahemProbably Botswana or Namibia, Tanzania and South Africa would be my next tier.

Looks to be a tad unstable but that coastline is calling me.
Probably Botswana or Namibia, Tanzania and South Africa would be my next tier.

Namibia is my choice. I have this fantasy of moving to Windhoek.Probably Botswana or Namibia, Tanzania and South Africa would be my next tier.

I was supposed to go to Diego a few different times but never made it. I have a friend who goes to Mauritius and to Reunion for vacation, swears by it. There is a city on Reunion called Le Tampon, not the bloody mess you'd imagine.DD- I assume you've been to Diego Garcia, but have you spent any time in Mauritius? I used to work with a couple of guys from there, and would love to visit.
Travelers guide says the first thing to do when in Casablanca is get out of Casablanca.Casablanca?
I've lived in Swaziland for about 2 years now. If you want to raise a family safely I don't think there's much better out there. Beautiful scenery and the people are so nice. No need for shots before you come, Malaria is non existent. Swaziland is mostly bordered by SA but has Mozambique on the east. Downside would be there's not much for kids to do but I don't know if that differs a whole lot from most African countries. When I'm in SA and people ask where I live they usually scoff at Swaziland, I just find it funny because no way in hell would I raise a family in a country where every white person has either been robbed or has a family member that's been robbed. When I was in SA I went into a store and a guy just starts telling me how his neighbor just got killed and if I had been robbed yet and tips on how I should carry my wallet. I was just trying to buy some door hinges.Hypothetically speaking, which country would be ideal to raise a family?
working on a house in Tangier for a client from NYC. neighbors on 2 sides are also from NYC, other one is French. lots and lots of expats from all over in Tangier apparently... had no idea.Morocco, specifically because if you move to -- and stay in -- the right neighborhood(s) in Tangier, you're pretty much in Europe, both culturally and geographically.
My boss spent some time in Mali and though I've heard there are some sites worth visiting, he didn't see those and what he did see frightened him. First night in the hotel room, he went to take a shower and the shower head fell off. And the horrific smell...permeating everything.I was supposed to go to Diego a few different times but never made it. I have a friend who goes to Mauritius and to Reunion for vacation, swears by it.
