I never got a call either.  It seems like some here were inundated with so many calls that they could choose when to pick up.  Certainly not my case.  As I said in earlier posts, I called back only once I got the boxes to ship the equipment back with the 888 number included.  That same number also was on my "final" bill that arrived in the mail several days later.  It seems that if you don't get a call immediately within a day or two, it'll be up to you to initiate the call.

Yea, thinking I'll do that this evening.  Starting to freak out.  The NFL goes live in just four days !!  Any chance you have that 888 number?

I am at work so don't have on me but if you scroll back through this forum a few pages or even search for "888" you'll find it.  Good luck!

Once you are disconnected and no longer their customer, they don't hold the screws over you.  Just remember that you have the position of power and can demand their best offer.

Just another data point:

I disconnected monday the 4th (contract was up 9/1).  Called the 210-332-6968 number from the other thread noon today and said I had a message to call back for a winback offer.  I never received a call or email, but the guy on the other line went through the whole shpeeal like they had been trying to reach me in various ways.  My HDRs are about 7+ years old and getting glitchy so getting an equipment upgrade was important to me this year.  I had to do the two year contract, but they also made the discounts last for two years. 

ST MAX

$54 off Xtra for two years (it was something strange where the price I would pay would be an extra $4 per month the second year but I didn't really care)

HBO/SHOW/Cine free for three months.

1 Genie and two mini-genies with free installation next week. 

I had to agree to autopay but have always had that anyway.  No gift card was available since I was doing a two year deal.  I can deal with that.  Nothing extraordinary, but the whole phone call only took about 15 minutes.  Good enough for me this year.  Thanks for the info everyone!

My stupid gift card journey may finally have closure after STILL not showing up anyhwere online or in my mail box.

Today: I call back the original number I called back on July 23rd that gave me my reconnect deal. Im told I was indeed promised a $200 GC, she makes notes to my account and and transfers me to billing to take care of it.

Billing: Sorry, Im not seeing a gift card offer. Youre not eligible. I tell her the rep that transferred me over just confirmed Im getting it. She says sorry, theres nothing there. Nothing she can do. Great. Total time on phone: 45 minutes

So I call back original number and explain what just happened. New rep says that makes no sense. BINGO.  It then takes the rep 30 minutes to that find any mention of a gift card, and it was never added to my reconnect offer. It only shows on notes a rep put on the account on July 24th when I called to confirm the details of my reconnect deal. She spends another 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get me the card. No luck. She makes more notes on my account and connects me to an accelerated customer something dept. They look at the account and say yes you are getting a gift card. Let us transfer you over to rebates. After holding for 15 minutes, I get disconnected. Total phone call time: 52 minutes.

I call back the accelerated customer something dept. They tell me I need to call rebate center. They give me the number for the rebate center (877-258-1427). Total time: 5 minutes

Rebate center: No problem, let me activate that for you.....after literally 2  minutes, he says it will be mailed within 10 days and will show up online within 3 days.

 

So almost 2 hours and several phone calls and I may finally be getting the gift card I was promised back in July. SMH.

 

What a complete cluster####

Today I notice my DTV bill was auto paid to the tune of $198, so I looked at my bill...they charged me for the movie channels that were supposed to be free, but they say theyll be crediting those charges back next bill. Yay.

I also notice DTV charges $20/month for my HD DVR box..what the F?! So when I agreed to a deal for $75/month for the choice package, my monthly bill is going to be about $105 after taxes and fees. Before I took this new "deal" in July, I paid $62 total including taxes and fees the previous 12 months...so my bill went up $40/month. Im thinking about making the switch to Spectrum and getting internet AND cable for the price Im paying for just DTV.

Does anyone know the DTV early termination cost is per month? I wanna say it was $10, but maybe its $20?

Four days without DirecTV and my cancellation bluff had me terrified.  Was relieved when I finally got an email that said they were SORRY to lose me as a customer.  Well I was SORRY too !!  Who was I kidding...no SUNDAY TICKET??  Six TVs, three of them out in the Valhalla Tavern Pub Shed out by the pool.  No way was I going to be happy being unable to go to the NFL Church on Sundays in my very own backyard sports bar.   What the hell was I going to do?  Go to Buffalo Wild Wings and fight over a decent seat, pay for their overpriced beers and food, deal with not being able to hear the game I want to hear????  Hell Fing NO !! I'm the Mad Viking and I watch my Vikings and NFL games in my very own Valhalla Tavern Sports Bar and Grill.  So I called the 888 number on the email I worried about for four days.....

Here's where my story went to crap.  Nice Rep answers named Cameron.  I imagined him being a struggling college student,  just trying to make his way in todays America.  Worn down by constant irate customers, working him over for free #### and a better deal.  His last call was probably from some football guys dude who worked him till he almost cried, he even thought about ending it all.  So what did I do??? .....

I folded like a cheap Fing suit the second he said the magic words.  Mr. Mad Viking, we don't want to lose you as a customer so I'm giving you free Sunday Ticket Max and $54.00 off your bill for 2017.  As he spoke I was browsing the DirecTV website and was reading up on their PREMIER (all included) package.  Every damn movie channel, all the sports channels, hell, 350 channels, all of them except for the porn stuff. So I asked Mr Cameron, Hey dude, how much for me to get that PREMIER package with my  six TV's.  $154 a month for a one year contract Mr. Mad Viking.  

FLOP CRASH FOLD BOOM......SOUNDS GOOD TO ME !!! :rant::angry::( :eek::confused: :ptts::help::hifive: :football:

New here and need a little help.

Hey all I really need your help. DTV has screwed up my account beyond belief. I canceled in late July and accepted their winback offer in early August. This is what I received for reupping for 12 months. Xtra package all inclusive 66 a month 200 Visa gift card 3 months of HBO, Cinemax, Starz & Showtime 2017 NFL Sunday Ticket Max $10 off per month with Autopay I'm sure this sounds familiar to many of you. Paid the 1st month at 57 and change. Now this month there is no sign of the credits. No sign of the winback offer. They are charging for premium channels & sunday ticket max. They were both credited last month. Someone tried telling me those credits were a 1 time deal and another said they I was lied to about the offer and a 3rd person even told me I was not eligible. How is one not eligible for a winback offer if they are coming back? I've never seen something get more screwed up. Bottom line is that I may have to take them to court to get what I agreed to. Will any of you out there that accepted their winback offer be willing to send me a letter stating that they have the exact same deal as I agreed to for 12 months? It would be greatly appreciated. This is the last thing I need to deal with as I prepare for Hurricane Irma's pending arrival.

So I cancelled my service back in May. I've been using DirecTV Now for the past month or so and it's pretty comparable to what I had with DTV. I do miss not having NFL Network, but that's not a huge deal. It's nice because I only pay $50/month and of course can cancel at any time, which is really nice.

I got last night from DirecTV trying to get me back. They offered me the Choice package (which is what I used to have) for $65/month, free Sunday Ticket, and free movies channels for 3 months. I asked for the $200 GC since I had gotten that offer a day before in the mail. They said they couldn't offer me the GC and the other stuff without me signing a 2-yr deal and in the 2nd year my price would go up to $113/month. I told him the only way I would do it would be to get the GC because if I'm paying an extra $15/month for pretty much the same channels, I need something that would help cover that difference. Wouldn't budge on the GC, so I told him thanks, but no thanks. Thought I may have had something there.

I started late this year because I've been busy and on the road.

Here's the deal:

I called the standard, 1800-Directv number and was only able to get $25 off, Free Redzone and that's it.  Then the ID10T charged me $25 for the RZ.

I went ahead and called the 866 number and the guy there explained it to me: 

When you call in to the regular line, you get 'Active Care' and their best deal..  They won't give you free ST, because the season started.   At least now, you have to completely disconnect, and be disconnected for 2 full days before you can call the 866 number.

When you call the 866 number, if you are a customer in good standing, (I've subscribed for 20+ years) they will try to get you the best deals (big discounts, ST for free). 

There was a twist.  Because the ID10T added Red Zone on to my package, there is no way to pull it off - it has to go to the Sunday Ticket desk.  The lady there gave me STMAX for $100.  I called the main line back and got my $25 discount for 12 months.  Total discount - $430.  Not bad.

Just a heads up to pay attention to your bills. They charged me for not returning my equipment even though I reactivated with them. There's all kinds of partial charges floating around. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to match up dates to verify what they're doing here, but the charge for equipment stood out like a sore thumb.

Jesus. So no Sunday ticket today. I've been on hold for 45 minutes now waiting to talk to someone.

So everything  I was promised when I disconnected and reconnected hasn't been given to me. I had to call and complain that they didn't turn on the free movie channels (and then they charged me for them), I had to call and complain because they never put my gift card into the system, and now I'm calling because they never activated my free ST Max.

 

This may be my last week with these idiots, Im thinking about paying the early term fee and just cutting the cord once and for all.

Nothing works for me. Not 703,704 or any of the games same for you? When I try on the app it says I haven't signed up for that programming.  1.5 hours on hold for a $5 credit. Embarassing.

Major issues here too the last 2 weeks. Either can't stream red zone or can't get it on my cable box and they can't figure out why. Between negotiating, being on hold on sundays, and waiting as they try "fixes" I'm probably at 8 hrs. And it's still not fixed.

I notice in my garage I have an HD box hooked to a standard tv and those two channels don't come up on the guide for some reason.  Work fine inside on the other three HD tvs.

Speaking of mess- my life was a complete mess this past summer. Therefore I totally missed that DTV had already billed me 3 early payments for the ST before the first game. It's my second season with DTV and having had my first season free- I don't want the ST again. Unpopular decision up in here, I know, but I just don't sit around my house watching my football- I get together with pals to watch games outside of my area. THEY can pay for it, not me. I was told when I signed up that the first season was on the house and that if I didn't want it again it would be no problem.

$130+ is a problem. :censored:

Anyhow- when I finally noticed I had been billed 3 x, I attempted to deduct them from my next payment myself, triggering the CHAT window. Absolutely expecting a battle, :boxing: I struggled to detail my situation without losing my ####, and...

...met no resistance at all. None. All square in under 10 minutes. And after all of the horror stories. I'm still kicking DTV to the curb come January, though. Teh suck. :finger:

Thanks for posting that rebate center number. I signed up for DTV in July and was promised the $200 GC. Hadn't seen it, called this number, and a couple minutes later they said it would be on its way.

Hadn't noticed the ST billing as the GF pays it. She pointed it out. 

• Called 210 number for retention. Can't help me because I'm not canceling... 
• Called normal number.... crappy offer. $25 off or something. No free ST. Okay... cancel me 1 week from today. Ok. 
• Waited..waited.. nothing.
• 1 day before cancellation i call the 210 number for retention. Super nice lady.

Got $53 off per month for 12 months, and Free Sunday Ticket Max (Got credits for previously made ST payments).

Had to get "supervisor's permission" because I got it free last year. 12mo contract. No biggie.

Got the $200 gift card, never activated it. Then got a ####ed up confusing bill for $220+ instead of the $76.99 promised. Wife has been on the phone with them for over an hour. Another hour.  Just a terrible company now.
