:oldunsure:

I am seeing a sharp uptick in Mourinho to Spurs rumors.

I hope that is just his team pushing for a deal somewhere else...
Reportedly he turned down Lyon saying he wants to coach in England.  And the rumor mill has Pooch leaving Spurs (quit or fired)... so the merrygoround could be

Jose to Spurs, Pooch to United, Ole to Molde.....

Fun fact. Playing Fifa 20 and you apparently can get fired now for giving a player too high of a wage increase. Playing with Milan as my Created Manger (Yes one of those nerds who creates themselves and put myself in the game) and so naturally I want to extend some of the players especially those I created who all end up on 1 year deals. I'm a 99 overall 31 yrs old striker. I've scored about 8 goals first two matches team has a 12-1 Goal differential 6 PTS out of 6. After beating Bresicia, doing my Press Conference I get an email notice saying I was SACKED FOR GIVING A PLAYER TOO MUCH OF A WAGE INCREASE COMPARED TO OTHERS IN THE SQUAD WHICH COULD HURT SQUAD MORALE. My Wage was 300K Euros per the next 3 yrs  plus bonuses for 25 appearances.

Yes this game fires you for making too high of wage increases. It also sacks you for too many low morale players or low morale in team or simming too many matches. I wanted realism but Jesus this is a bit excessive here EA.

That whole thing
I serious I wasn't expecting that at all. I played the match mins later I get the notification the board sacked me. I was like WTF is this. I've heard of the old Fifa games of seeing guys on Youtube were no longer manger because one example the manager died in a auto accident but this? Reminds of the Spalletti stuff with Inter there with the signings and extensions he gave. Gabe Marcotti the other day mentioned Conte couldn't do everything he wanted do to Spalleti's behavior on that

Zdenek Ondresek is a journeyman pro from Czech Republic.  As a 30 year old he has moved around a bit and now plays for FC Dallas.  He struggled with the move to Dallas and was not even getting time for the USL reserve team early in the season.

He finally settled in and started to score for FC Dallas picking up 7 goals towards the end of the season.

He received his first ever call up for the Euro Qualifiers this week.  He subbed in during second half and in scored the late game winner against England for his first cap.

Well its almost time for the EPL to get back to business.  Sunday morning Liverpool will be crushing a lower table team.  Pogba and De Gea out for United.  Martial and AWB should be back.

And because Liverpool needs more help, Martin Akinson has been assigned to ref the game.
Akinson has issued more yellow cards (75) and red cards (6) to teams facing Liverpool than he has any side since the start of the 09/10 season.

Atkinson is an absolute ####! One of the most UK-biased refs around. Ole should have Daniel James run around tripping himself up in the box for a guaranteed pen, or have McGuire boot everyone. I saw a tweet somewhere that sums it up. "Nailed on pen for Kane then?"

oof.  Must Not Watch TV

Tottenham Hotspur is to be the focus of the latest Amazon Original docuseries All or Nothing, charting the Club's journey during the 2019/20 season.

Maybe we'll get some nice footage of Levy and MP behind the scenes.  I can just picture them having nice, polite conversations about how well the transfers and season have been going.

Or maybe more interesting we will see the hiring of Jose 'The Chosen One' Mourinho prior to Boxing Day.

I agree Atkinson is a joke but I am not sure how UK bias will help here?  Besides if someone breaths on Salah, he'll fall over for a penalty and MA will add to his total cards for Liverpool opponents.....

United showed some life.  Now if they can keep up that intensity, add in Pogba and Martial for Young and Fred, they could make a go of it.  Maybe Tuanzbee for Rojo too.

So Saturday night my daughter's team went to the USL game between Orange County Soccer Club and Fresno.  Fun game, 2-0 win for OCSC with Fresno seeing 2 red cards.  Girls got to walk out with the players for the national anthem before the game, then they had an autograph session after.  Girls started asking the players for their OCSC hats and jerseys.  They all got signed hats.  I think the players enjoyed it almost as much girls did.  Good time was had by all.

Is it ocsc that has the youngest ever signed pro on their books (sorry Freddy)?

After the fans' actions vs sampdoria, it should be :bag:

Serie A needs to figure this whole racism thing out fast. If the largest  and supposedly most progressive cities in the country are pulling this crap, something's afoot.
Meanwhile, Man U on the other end of the spectrum, immediately tossing one of their own fans vs Liverpool for allegedly taunting Terrence Trent Alexander Arnold...with possible lifetime ban coming if accusations prove out.

I haven't seen anything regarding their fans' actions...what did they do?

Italy is notorious for it's regionalism(?)...North v South...where the south is regarded as less intelligent, labourers/peasants.  Roma is famous for its (usually) "partisan/resistance"/socialist stance, whilst Lazio is considered "twinned" with  a fascist bent with multiple Northern clubs.

Honestly don't know what they did, but this bull#### racism covertly disguised as "support" is despicable, & has no place in our "modern" world.  Extremely disappointed if Roma fans were involved with anything racist,  as opposed to regionalism...

I was all wrong about Atlanta, but once again I don't see this one working.
What are your general concerns?

One issue I see are too many Cali teams but Sac comes with a built in fan base so that should mitigate some of that concern.  I wonder if they will be too small of a market to compete financially.

I'd guess "The game is ....., Watson!"

Sac as a viable pro soccer home beyond it's fan base. Very happy to be wrong about it, as I was with Atlanta. Fwiw, always was a lot of youth soccer there, even back in my day. And a place where Hispanics played back then, when things were predominantly white middle class everywhere else.

Audible Non-racist monkey chants from non-racists.

Happy to see this:

AS Roma have vowed to ban the fans responsible for aiming racist abuse at Sampdoria midfielder Ronaldo Vieira during a 0-0 Serie A draw on Sunday and took to social media to apologise for the incident.

Italian news network ANSA reported that the 21-year-old was targeted with monkey chants by travelling supporters at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
