Nope. Even my wife knows I'm slow.Even had a conversation similar to this?
"Have any plans this weekend?"
"I have a race tomorrow."
"How long?"
"Five miles."
"Just five miles? Oh, that should be easy for you."

My response is usually "but I have to run a lot faster." That never seems to make sense though. All the time, my mother-in-law always seems to make that comment.
yeah, it would be a solo race...But thats what I'm leaning toward. Haven't had a good 5k run in a long time.Since the intervals were supposed to be at 5K pace, the race is the much harder workout. I agree you shouldn't do both. Do the race if your ankle feels up to it. It might be a good time to really test yourself since your heart rate data is good.
Would you actually find a last minute race or would you just "race" around the neighborhood?
I know one coming up in a week less than 4 hours away from you.I think I need to find a fall half. I've been running around 13 miles every Saturday for a while, so may as well do it at a race to break up the monotony.
Not necessarily in race shape, so would treat it more like a fast training run with other people to look at.

Thanks. Forecast says 43 degrees, clear skies, 4 mph wind.Have a great race Juxt. Hope you get a cool morning.
Man, I had no idea this was going on in my area. Only about 50 minutes or so from my house. This might be the one. Thank you!
December half along the beach in Delaware? Think it’s december 8 so not fall I guess.I think I need to find a fall half. I've been running around 13 miles every Saturday for a while, so may as well do it at a race to break up the monotony.

lol, yeah, as soon as I typed that I looked again. Amended post above.Tomorrow? Website says October 27.
All the time. Our university sponsors a local 5K, and a lot of people here say exactly that ..."easy for you." They don't realize how focused/stressed/nervous I am for the week before a race, knowing the effort/pain it will take to succeed.Ever had a conversation similar to this?

Soooo....Coach emailed me on Wednesday morning and said he wanted this one a little faster since I ended up not racing the half last weekend.Friday - 15 (first 10 @745-800730-740, last 5 @700-710650ish)
You get to see a hooker?Going to see a myofascial release therapist
Done -- 90 minutes.Yep, big fan of the late in the training cycle back-to-back too. Do the speed to tire you out then do the long run on tired legs. I have my wife doing it Saturday-Sunday, 10 at MP then the final 20 Sunday. I could tell from the look in her eye from across the room when we were setting this week's schedule that when I had her document those two workouts that if she had something sharp in her hand and was within arm's reach she'd be stabbing me in the eye right now. This is why I sat on the other side of the room though.
damn! that's a nice run!!Headed out this morning and got 'er done (and then some). Averaged 7:15 for the first 10...and 6:39 for the last 5. My last mile would've easily been my fastest, but my right hamstring started to seize up on me towards the end of mile #14, and I had to back off the pace a bit to avoid disaster.
Not as ready as I'd like, but as ready as I'm going to be. I got a couple of good peak weeks in between AC100 and now. Wish I had more time to practice with trekking poles. I'll spend Sunday prepping drop bags and gear and figuring out how to pack for the flight out on Thursday morning.SayWhat? said:One week out...ready to get this thing @SFBayDuck?!
Burn their houses down down?Ok so obviously runners get to know the people in their neighborhood better than most.
So i have become aware of a house that i know for a fact when they walk their dog, they dont pick up the poop. I was aware of the poop i just never knew where they lived. Saw the guy with the dog getting the mail on his way back from his walk so i watched him closely to see what house he went into.
I am also aware of a house where i know the guy smokes and flicks his cigarette butts out the window. He does it like one block from his house which just really chaps me.
Thoughts? Ideas?
THATS NOT WHY WERE HERE!!!Hahaha. My only fear is that they're playing loose and care-free, but the Brewers seem to be handling the pressure OK so far...
33° here...Checked the weather for my long run tomorrow. 78 is the low with 100% humidity.
Why don't you just kick him in the nuts while you're at it?33° here...
That’s crazy! Given the choice, id still take the 78/100. 33 I’d be crying and complaining.33° here...
Just needs a good Zwickel....Man I love days like today.
47 degrees at 5am. Knocked out 13.4 miles like it was nothing. Just one of those nice smooth runs where you feel like you can run all day. Finished up with plenty left in the tank, legs and body also strong.
And I'll be damned - I've been running for 6 years and NEVER found any money on the ground other than the occasional penny or nickel. Found TWO $1 bills today - both at separate locations. So I earned two bucks for my effort.
Then to the farmers market. Got my normal supplies, and walked by the booth where the high school school district culinary students were selling cinnamon rolls, croissants, etc. As I was walking by, I overheard someone say "we also have breakfast burritos."
I literally stopped in my tracks, turned around, and bought this awesome breakfast burrito with ham, sausage, eggs, green peppers, onions, a little spice....etc.....
Sat down in the courtyard - no kids by the way - and ate this awesome hot breakfast burrito on a cool 47 degree morning. 13.4 miles in my pocket. Glorious.
That will be my first beer after my sons two hockey games here in a bit.Just needs a good Zwickel....
Destroyed the field. No mercy!
Just remember, When you fart is loud enough to make a animal curious you know probably gonna win burritosThat will be my first beer after my sons two hockey games here in a bit.
Over 4 minutes ahead of the 2nd place overall finish. Holy smokes.Destroyed the field. No mercy!
Great race!
but it was only five miles. It was easy for himI'm somewhat more impressed by your first mile, sub 6, sub 140 bpm than the total but both show how much work you've put in. It's great to see it pay off.
Thanks! However, it looks like my heart rate wasn’t measuring right at the beginning. My true average for the first mile probably was about 150.Fuxt Juxt, freaking phenomenal man.
Here I was feeling all good on a 4th overall, 1st AG in the duathlon. Then I see you and damn you're impressive.

Better go run it again, then. Can’t have bad data clogging up your Strava feed. Thanks! However, it looks like my heart rate wasn’t measuring right at the beginning. My true average for the first mile probably was about 150.
I found a wallet on the ground this morning with $100 in it! I won’t say I wasn’t tempted, but I do believe in karma so I turned it in at the police station (address on drivers license was a town an hour away). And I'll be damned - I've been running for 6 years and NEVER found any money on the ground other than the occasional penny or nickel. You're welcome for that article!I’m glad I stumbled across an article recommending early warm ups. I think it really helps me compared to warming up within an hour of the race.
Must have forgotten. Thanks! You're welcome for that article!
Other than that, your race report was ok. You animal.
It's ok. Knowing I played a major part in your PR is thanks enough.Must have forgotten. Thanks!
