Where do you get your news? (1 Viewer)

I hear constantly cable channels like Fox News or CNN isnt good.

So, where do you guys turn for unbiased news?

news.google.com

CNN is honestly not that biased. You have anchors that are clearly (Don Lemon) biased and probably some others but you have a lot of professionals as well like Anderson Cooper / Wolf Blitzer (yeah yeah, I know they're liberal IRL but they do a good unbiased job of presenting the news IMO).

Whether or not you agree with their news-porn approach (spending 2 weeks talking about a missing Malaysia flight around the clock) is one thing, but as far as getting the news straight, I switched from Fox to CNN 4 or 5 years ago and think it's the best station out there for 24 hour news. I wouldn't go near Fox or MSNBC ever again.

For just straight news, just get it here in the FFA or Reddit.

Twitter, where I follow just about every news source I know of.  Then I follow a bunch of the reporters personal accounts.  You have to follow the CNNs, APs , Reuters, & NBCs.  But then I will follow the Daily Callers, RT, Al Jazeera, Drudge, OAN, Young Turks, etc. to get different perspectives.

Fox is too conservative and borders on legally insane.

MSNBC is too preachy-liberal.

CNN is in between.  It probably skews a bit liberal, but since I skew a bit liberal, it feels accurate.  Although I really just want to see if Wolf Blitzer will ever smile.

Oh - and John Oliver...

Al-Jazeera, BBC and the New York Post mainly.
Al-Jazeera is actually pretty good. For breaking news though, Fox does seem to wipe the floor with the other 24/7 news stations.BBC does a little better with international news than most.  The big three networks all suck.

I don't really care about "breaking news!!!!1!1!!1"  Would rather get news correct than quick.

2/3... NYPost   ... combo of NYTimes and Google News feed for my other two.

I like the Google one, as it shows multiple sources for the same stories... allows me to quickly gauge what's the most topical and current newsbits and when I have time, compare the different coverage. most of the time it's an AP or Reuters feed.

For you guys that use Twitter, do you have a strategy there for certain accounts you follow? A list?

Thanks.

The internet sites of Danish National TV, the two largest Danish newspapers (one left leaning, one right leaning), BBC internet site and rarely something shows up in the FFA that I didn't already see elsewhere

Honestly, everywhere..social media, cable news, newspapers.

I don't really discriminate even though I subscribe to a specific ideology. I'll watch Hannity, read a Breitbart article and even listen to Alex Jones from time to time because I want to know where all the crazy is coming from.

Of what hasn't been mentioned, I used to watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report religiously before they left and were replaced by two much less entertaining/witty fellows. I also like the youtube channel Secular Talk, I don't think anyone is more substantive than that dude.

I activate one or more portable electronic devices hooked into a global information retrieval and communications network.  Alternatively, I activate another one or more electronic devices connected to a system that collects broadcast signals from one or more organizations dedicated to communicating the occurrence of events and providing accompanying analysis.

Honestly I get most of my news from the FFA and Fark. Both are pretty good for breaking news,  and the comments sections on both sites usually give me more than one side to each story.  If I see something there that I want to know more about,  I Google it.
