Raiders at Colts Week 4 Thread (1 Viewer)

One thing Raiders have done this year is that they've started hot in some games.

Happened here -- Raiders get the ball first after Colts Defer.

Good runs by Washington and Jacobs, both TEs Waller and Foster Moreau with solid catches to move chains downfield. Carr converted on a key 3rd and long, then hits Moreau on an 18 yard strike to the EZ.

7-0 Raiders.

Thanks for the update! I’ve got Waller and Jacobs going and I can’t view the game

Mack wrapped up by PJ Hall.

Brisset tries to hit a receiver on the right sideline, well covered by Joyner.

3rd and 11,  Brisset sees an open TE on a seam route, but Joyner makes a fantastic play and tips the pass away before it gets there.

Punt.

First play of second series, Raiders in bunch/trips right.

Fake toss to Jacobs, flips to Trevor David on an end around, scampers around and upfield for a 60 yard TD. WOW.

Solid blocking downfield by the Raiders on that play, esp. from the left side of the line.

Colts 2nd possession - Mack brought down again behind LOS fo 5 yard loss, good penetration by Raiders right line.

False start on Colts brings back 5 yards for 2nd and 20, colts go 4 wide and Chester Rogers bobbles a drop across the middle he should have caught for a nice gain.

3rd and 20, Raiders in nickel. Brissett went deep to Ebron, almost had him as Ebron had a step on Raiders LB, Worley and a window in front of the safety, but couldn't get to it.

Punt.

Brissett looking like he has some time on throws but is slightly inaccurate or receivers not reeling it in.

Raiders retrieve punt and return it for 13 yards with good position midfield, flag on the play moves them back 10 yards, so it's 1st and 10 on the 23.

Split I PA, but Colts in great coverage on that play.

2nd and 10, fumble by Jacobs and Colts recover.

Colts 1st and 10 at OAK 22. Mack with a great bounce outside right to rumble 18 to the 4.

1st and goal.  Mack on a delay gets swallowed by safety support and good penetration up the middle by the LB Whitehead.

2nd and goal, fantastic fake to Mack had everyone -- including the camera man -- fooled, with a RPO/PA roll out left to find Jack Doyle for a short pass in space for TD.

14-7

Raiders with a 24 yard return.

Out of the I, Jacobs with a solid gain of 7 up the middle.

2nd & 3, split I, fake handoff, Denico Autry with pressure on Carr to flush a pass to get rid of the ball.

3rd and 3, Carr in shotgun with Richard in backfield, quick pitch right works as Richard gets the 1st down.

1st and 10 on the 35. Willis shoots in to tackle Ty WIlliams on the right end to disrupt a PA pass to the left.

2nd and 11, Richard in. Carr finds Waller across the middle on a nice 17 yard pass.

1st and 10 on the Colts' 49. Handoff to Richard, Hudson and Raiders line opens a huge hole for the right B gap for a big run gain by Richard.

1st and 10 on 37, no gain on the run. 2nd and 10, Carr hits Waller whose defender, trailing him from behind, slips and misses. First down Raiders.

Jacobs with a small pickup running outside right. 2nd and 7 from the 17, end of 1st.

Picking up on the other end of lame commercials, Raiders go to Waller on a quick pass for a 1 yard loss. 3rd and 8, Carr doesn't like the defensive look, calls timeout.

Comes back, with a great out/comeback to Ty Williams in man to man coverage on Quincy Wilson for 19 yards for a TD.

21-7 Raiders.

Team looks pretty good, fam. Our line is blocking really well, especially for the run with Miller and Incognito. Giving Carr the time to see the field, and he's taking advantage of it. Mid/long ball looks decisive, throws well-placed.

Colts were able to capitalize on turnovers and still very much in this game, their secondary needs to tighten up in coverage in both zone and man.

Brissett & Co start off on their 25 on a touchback.

3 right, fantastic time to throw, tries to hit Parris Campbell on a huge bomb downfield, and both safeties in sound coverage to break it up.

2nd and 10, Mack with a solid gain up the middle with good shiftiness for 7.

3rd and 3 empty backfield, Brissett gets out of the pocket in clean space and runs for the first down.

1st and 10 on the 41, fake to Mack, finds Ebron but pass is dropped.

2nd and 10, Mack with another solid run left, stiffarms his way for 7. Mack looking really good and Colts opening holes for him.

3rd and 3, another run left by Mack with great blocking for a first down, flags on both sides offset, replay 3rd.  Colts with a different look and spread 4 WRs, catch made by Ebron for 4-5 yards for a first down. Flag on Raiders on Burfict for 15 yards on helmet-to-helmet puts Colts on the 33, play being reviewed.

Burfict ejected -- really not good for the Raiders, he's been great. Burfict intentionally lowered helmet. NY makes the call to eject him. Strange as I've seen that call happen before this year, with no ejections. Burfict't rep maybe had something to do with it. Going to hurt our coverage.

Mack with a run right with no penetration or coverage, Mack scampers hard for a big run for 1st down. Mack looking great, Raiders run D breaking down.

1st and 10 on 19, Harris tackles Mack after a gain of 5, flags on both teams offset, replay 1st.

Brissett under center, hands it to Wilkins for a strong run outside for 6.

2nd and 4 on the 13, Wilkins with an outside run left for 2. Flag offsides for Raiders.

1st and goal on the 8. Mack back in. Good coverage, Brisset hits Campbell on a quick cross for 2.

2nd and goal, Brissett under center, handoff to Mack with Joyner splitting the line and getting to Mack in the backfield with fantastic timing for a loss of 3 on the play.

3rd and goal, gun. Brissett finds a receiver left for a short game, tackled by Conley. Raiders hold them to a 26 yard FG.

21-10.

Burfict = POS
Can't defend the guy, that was a dumb move. Again, see this happen all year for 15 yard flags. First ejection I've seen for it all year.

I support the league trying to protect players. Would think they would eject players after a second in-game infraction, not immediately after the first one.

Definitely an ejection on Burfict based on his rep. Don't have a problem with it other than it really makes our team's coverage that much thinner. But the NFL could be calling these ejections a little more evenly.

Raiders start on the 25. Washington with a bad drop on a good toss.

2nd and 10, Raiders in I. Washington up the middle off a good lead block by Ingold for 3.

3rd and 7 on the 28, Colts in double-A gap coverage. Carr with a poor throw under pressure, Rock Ya Sin jumps the route from zone and tries to pick the ball, bring it back to the house, but it's an incompletion. Punt.

Exactly, plus if they are really doing this for player safety then they should eject linemen for chop blocks.

56 yard punt, 13 yard return. Colts 1st and 10. PA with a nice 27 yard grab and run by Chester Rogers up the right sideline.

Carr on the sidelines getting checked out after that last lick on 3rd on long, limping around testing what looks like an ankle.

1st and 10 on the 38, Mack with Doyle blocking gains 3.

2nd and 7, Brissett under center trips right, Wilkins fights for 6 yards.

3rd and 1, Brissett with an RPO roll out left hits doyle for an 8 yard gain and a 1st down.

1st and 10 on the 22. Fake to Wilkins looking for Haskell on a jump ball to the EZ right, Worley in good coverage incomplete.

2nd and 10 out of the gun. Handoff to Mack who was tripped up for a yard by a shooting Karl Joseph.

Flag for illegal block on Colts 10 yards.

2nd and 20 on the 32. Brissett with a laser for Ebron up the seam, 3rd drop by Ebron. Ebron not playing well, all these passes are hitting his hands cleanly.

3rd and 20, out of the gun wtih Mack right. Quick screen right to Campbell who nearly gets the first down, short by about 3, but Campbell coughs it out with Mad Maxx Crosby punching it out, Raiders recover.

Goal line stand for Raiders, now a turnover. Nice.

Carr in. 2 WR right Jacobs some RB in the backfield, takes the ball and gets swarmed, loss of 2 to the Raider 13.

2nd and 12, shotgun. Waller with a good quick comeback.

3rd and 7 on the 18. Carr hits Williams on a quick slant that hits him with time but dropped.

2nd and 8 on the 51.

Fake handoff to Hines, with a good pass right to Campbell to make it a short 3rd, but holding on Colts brings it back 10.

2nd and 18, out of the gun. All day for Brissett in a pristine pocket, but pass batted down by Crosby.

3rd and 18, trips left, long throw in the middle by Haskell, but Joyner brings him down 2 yards short of the first.

Colts going for it on 4th, Raiders TO.

Colts with the ball on the 35 for 1st and 10.

Brissett out of the gun, dump off right to Hines but Morrow with a good open field tackle for 6.

2nd and 4, Brissett forces one to Cain incomplete.

3rd and 4, Raiders playing the spread man. Dump to Hines for a short gain for 1st flag, flag on Colts for illegal man downfield backs them up to the 39.

3rd and 9, Raiders with 6 in the backfield, incomplete pass downfield looking for Rogers, Brissett under a lot of pressure from Haskins.

57 yard FG for Vinatieri -- would tie longest of his career -- no good.

Still 21-10 Raiders.

2nd and 10, again Carr goes deep to Ty WIlliams working on Ya-Sin, Williams almost had that despite solid coverage.

3rd and 10, pass incomplete with some confusion on the play, almost just burned the play. Raiders punt giving the Colts the ball on their 12 with 10 seconds remaining.

STC's First Half Stars:

  • Foster Moreau for the Raiders for hanging on to that TD bomb when Colts were covering him well.
  • Marlon Mack for the Colts looking strong on his runs

2nd half, Colts start 1st and 10 on their 23.

Fake handoff, pass intended for Cain but great coverage by Worley to disrupt the catch.

2nd and 10, empty backfield gun. Floating pass left to Chester Rogers for 17 yards, gets separation from Conley for a nice catch and gain.

1st and 10. Morrow stuffs Mack in the backfield for a loss.

2nd and 11, Brissett trying to find someone open, looks left, right, pump fakes to freeze the D, then scampers for a few yards.

3rd and long (9), Brissett drops back and hits Campbell for a 3 yard reception but Joseph there with a solid tackle.

Have to wonder about that playcall. Punt.
