OK, take this with a huge grain of salt.

If you look from the President's angle on the anticipated end-result of the whole impeachment saga, it will be that he did no wrong, and can do no wrong. 

Based upon this, could the Democrats, or if they got themselves a Giuliani, go around and dig for some dirt on the President.

I don't want to get into 'should they' or 'let's not stoop to their level,' this is purely a discussion of 'could they.'

 
They shouldn't have to. At any rate, they're not going to convince his base of anything, they just have to appeal to the majority of the nation that wants some sanity restored to the office.

This. Trump has totally immunity now. He is basically the King that we wanted to get away from when we revolted against England to form our country. For as long as the GOP holds the Senate. He knows he won't even need to worry about witnesses that would be bad for him. 

 
Trump supporters cannot and will not ever hear anything that would be bad enough to change their minds.  "fake news!"  "mainstream lame media!"  "Donnie is our guy a normal guy a straight shooter!"

There are some Republicans on my Facebook that are claiming his Tweet on Sunday saying Kansas City is in Kansas was fake and he never tweeted it. lol When things get so bad there there is no possible excuse or explanation, they simply hold their hands over their ears and scream "Lalalalalalalalalala, I can't hear you"

I like the Sharpie enhanced maps.  Also, I don't get why it's a big deal, he didn't defend it like he tried to with the Hurricane Alabama map.  Not sure why people are defending him about it, the tweet was changed rather quickly, and not sure why anyone would jump on him about it.  Honest mistake while trying to send a good-natured message - something we should be encouraging him to do, rather than ridiculing him for.

Not sure how these fit the thread?

 
If anything could work, it would probably have to be video of him doing something terrible.  Audio alone doesn't seem to be enough (Access Hollywood).  But he has a Ray Rice moment on video, that could change minds.

Wouldn't even come close to doing it.  I've thought about what might be enough.  If some tape emerged where he goes on a racist N-word dropping tyrade?  Doubt it.  This is  a man who has been credibly accused of sexual assault and, imo, rape.  Murder.  Maybe if he murdered someone.

You mean like hiring a foreign agent to investigate Trump and wrote some kind of dossier?  No the dems would never stoop to that level.  That would be illegal and unethical and just plain scummy.

Serious question...can you even imagine Donald Trump playing with a dog?  Or enjoying music?  Or letting his daughter paint his nails when she was little? Or crying because someone close to him passed away?   Those are all very common things for normal humans to do and I can't for the life of me imagining him doing any of them.

If I recall correctly, Fusion GPS was first hired by a Republican campaign to start that work.  But yeah, Hillary took it and ran with it.

Hillary added the whole Russia angle and Steele to the mix....

that said, Fusion were kind of shady to begin with and had already done a lot of pro-Putin work

 
Oh, i could make you some hella Willie Horton-type ads against a president who breaks RICO statutes merely by being in office and offends virtually every decent sensibility that would be effective during crunch time, but 40% of the country has stipulated that they dont care and will dig in and likely weaponize the ardor of their benighted cause in response. The Buttigieg strategy - limited positive engagement of those so angered by govt to have joined the Trump camp - is the only feasible path to real governance in the near term.

If you say the Mueller Investigation was started because of The Steele Dossier, you can say that it revealed some crimes that Trump will be charged with (since all that the main result was that he couldn't be charged while in office) one he is voted out of office this fall. I'm OK with that.

ETA: This is one event that the Dems may have been involved in. They seemed to stop at that. Haven't heard much of them going international like someone at 1600 Penn. Ave.

The Steele Dossier used Russian sources

Steele is/was a spy for the UK

The Ukraine was the source of the black ledger the led to Manafort’s downfall

Schiff was pranked into thinking that the Russians were going to give him naked pictures of Trump.

 
I guess the who's done it more or longer stuff gets away from my point. (I know I've added to that, and I shouldn't have.)

Regardless of whether the Dems have done it previously, is it OK?

if like half a dozen people associated with his campaign and transition ended up in prison, that might do it.

 
As others have said, the Dems and media have been digging up dirt on him for 5 years now. They have damn near reached China. None of it has mattered.

LOL. At this point, DJT is probably the cleanest politician ever.

I heard an interesting podcast with Ted Cruz & another senator (I can't remember who). Cruz said there was real support for an abuse of power impeachment against Obama, but what finally made them decide against it was potential fallout (like what is happening to the democratic party with Trump's impeachment).

Cruz said they learned their lesson with Clinton.

Not sure about clean. He has been caught doing things that have tanked others in the past. Also there is good fortune. If the Democrats had controlled the Senate than Trump would have been bounced from office. The Dems didn’t control it though which I’ve said has made this impeachment process not only pointless but harmful. You come at the king, you best not miss.

I get your point. My reply was mostly directed at the countless attempts to overthrow & failing.

BTW, true dat on missing the king. The fallout is real.
