I don’t think shaq is a favorite of Klopp’s. He’s ok as a backup and instant offense, but really struggles tactically. Fans love him because he shows up on the stat sheet, but there’s a reason he’s barely seen the field in four months.Mane, in spite of not creating goals, was massive. Ran himself into the ground. Same for Henderson and fabinho. And Alison was incredible. But wow was shaqri terrible...glad it didn't cost them.
Liverpool and United seem universally despised by rival fans. I think the long drought has became a meme to beat Pool fans with and rival fans don’t want to lose that stick.I'm curious if you guys know or have a thought, but do you think English fans of other big clubs (United, Tottenham, Chelsea, City) or a big rival like Everton would be rooting for Liverpool (i.e. an English club) to win against Barcelona?

In what way?Sometimes I wonder if I am watching the same game as you guys...
I like him a lot- usually deadly with his skills going forward. Creates his own opportunities out of nothing and every cross and shot a laser. Last night he was just dreadful, but he still did the hard work off the ball and kept trying...useful in that regard, but a ####show with the ball at his feet 9 times out of 10.I don’t think shaq is a favorite of Klopp’s. That being said, there weren’t many options today and Klopp took the risks in a game where scoring goals was paramount.
Yep. He and Robbo were the only members of LFC’s starting xi that weren’t on their games. Everyone else literally had their best performance of the season.I like him a lot- usually deadly with his skills going forward. I'm struggling to find issues with Robertson's performance. How was he not on his game?Yep. He and Robbo were the only members of LFC’s starting xi that weren’t on their games. Everyone else literally had their best performance of the season.
*noted*Will just make it that much more satisfying when Liverpool lose in the finals (again) leaving them ever so close again to winning something....anything.
Saw a stat that all 8 of Barcelona's shots were either by Messi or directly created by Messi. So, you're right. Suarez and Coutinho just went missing and they didn't play a creative midfielder until Arthur came on.Got the sense they were just looking for Messi to bail them out.
Tbh, I thought Mane was off his attacking game too without Salah or firminho there. Looked lost at times. More than made up for it with how much ground he covered and how smart he was with so much of his possession, even if it wasn't breaking the Barca d down.Yep. Much better game from him than last one. Agree- thought he was rock solid.I'm struggling to find issues with Robertson's performance. How was he not on his game?
He created the first one. Reading the back header, intercepting it and then playing a super little touch into Henderson's path.Mane, in spite of not creating goals, was massive. To be fair, i was posting from memory. I went back and have made it through the first half. Robbo was fine.I'm struggling to find issues with Robertson's performance. How was he not on his game?
shaq was terrible. especially by his own standards. it was more than a couple give-aways- he was off with way too much of his driblling, passing and crossing. but again- he kept going at it and worked tirelessly to help the team... even if his dribbling, passing and crossing wasn't as much as normal. To be fair, i was posting from memory. I've seen a LOT of people on twitter criticizing Shaq or saying he didn't have a great game as well. But upon further review, he seemed better than I recall, and better than people gave him credit for. Had a couple bad give-aways, but also had some great passes.
thanks- that was a great read by him. I stand corrected... but still think he was isolated and lost out there relative to the humming machine that he normally is with better strike-partners. but he killed himself making all the runs on both sides of the ball- all the way through the full time. Origi kept making wrong runs or not making runs... but hard to fault the goals or the effort he put in.He created the first one. The Origi/Mane/Shaq front line isn't one that has played together very much. So I do think we have to understand that many of the "wrong runs" and "off passes" are a result of that.. I'd like to go back and look at how many minutes those three had played together all season...Aside from the 17 minutes against Newcastle (though Sturridge was in the mix too in that game), this is a trio that just doesn't have a lot of the innate chemistry that you usually get in the semi-finals of the Champions League.shaq was terrible. especially by his own standards. it was more than a couple give-aways- he was off with way too much of his driblling, passing and crossing. but again- he kept going at it and worked tirelessly to help the team... even if his dribbling, passing and crossing wasn't as much as normal.

oh- absolutely. I'm not faulting any of them for the link-up and chemistry lacking. Origi and Mane both seemed out of sorts in that regard... shaq just was flubbing the ball too much for a guy of his immense talents. but can't fault any of them for the effort put in... it really was inspired. The Origi/Mane/Shaq front line isn't one that has played together very much. And ironically did exactly that yesterday when they needed a #9 in certain moments.Dinsy Ejotuz said:Origi may be the first player to have his statue put up outside the stadium and then be sold in the same season.
He's got some talent and he's kept a great attitude under difficult circumstances, but IMO he's more of a true #9 type and doesn't link with other players the way Liverpool wants its front three to play. And his value will never be higher.
I realize Jose isn't managing now, so a bit easier to be effusive, but I don't recall him ever praising another manager like this.“I didn’t expect it, I said impossible is nothing, I said if it’s possible, Anfield is one of the places to make the impossible be possible,” Mourinho said as a pundit for beIN Sports.
“But I have to say that for me, this has one name – Jurgen.
“I think this is not about tactics, this is not about philosophy, this is about heart and soul, and a fantastic empathy he created with this group of players.
“They had the risk of finishing a fantastic season without anything to celebrate, and now they are one step from being European champions.
“I think Jurgen deserves, you know, the work they are doing in Liverpool is fantastic.
“But I think this is about him, this is a reflection of his personality, don’t give up, a fighting spirit, every playing giving everything.
“He’s not crying because he’s missing a player, he’s not crying because they are playing 50 or 60 matches per season.
"This is about him. This is a reflection of his personality, don't give up, his fighting spirit."
"Everything i think today is about Jurgen's mentality."
“Other coaches in other leagues they are crying, saying their players are playing too many matches when they play 30 or 35 matches.
“Everything I think today is about Jurgen’s mentality.
“I just hope that Jurgen wins the Champions League finally.
“Because he lost already two Champions League finals and also a Europa League final.
“I think he deserves to make it happen. Because the work is fantastic.”
It's more fun if you surrender to the dark side.I have difficulty buying in to the football club triabalism thing, but admit it would be cool if there were 4 English clubs in the UEFA finals this year, and none of them were from Manchester.
Every big team wants him. No idea where he's going. Barca seems to be the favorite, but I think it's going to take awhile. Can't wait to see De Ligt at Old Trafford next year
Is that a done deal? Keep seeing his name, but don't know much about him. Can't wait to see De Ligt at Old Trafford next year
Could really have used somebody with his spirit yesterday, but this would be contingent on Umtitti leaving I assumeEvery big team wants him. No idea where he's going. Barca seems to be the favorite, but I think it's going to take awhile.
That kid is absolutely phenomenal. Looks like he's already as good as VVD and he's 19.
Done deal in my dream world. No idea why he wouldn't want to go from the brink of the CL finals to playing Europa league for the next 2-3 years though. Is that a done deal? Keep seeing his name, but don't know much about him.
Well Felix is certainly going to Manchester.Done deal in my dream world. No idea why he wouldn't want to go from the brink of the CL finals to playing Europa league for the next 2-3 years though.
United gets linked with everyone seemingly. I'd like them to snag De Ligt and Joao Felix, but doubt they get either.
If he needs any advice on the matter, he can just turn to his left and ask Daley Blind. I'm sure he'll get a ringing endorsement of life at Man United. No idea why he wouldn't want to go from the brink of the CL finals to playing Europa league for the next 2-3 years though.
He flat turned United down: linkIs that a done deal? Keep seeing his name, but don't know much about him.
It's fantastic stuff. And it's good to see Ajax doing well again. How can you not Ajax squad? So fun to watch. Really looking forward to this final assuming they continue their pace v. Tottenham.
They look so dangerous. On paper should be a great final. How can you not Ajax squad? So fun to watch. Really looking forward to this final assuming they continue their pace v. Tottenham.

And I will be rooting for all 4 of them to lose. Why does Blind know how it works under Ole?If he needs any advice on the matter, he can just turn to his left and ask Daley Blind. I'm sure he'll get a ringing endorsement of life at Man United.
