There is an under 23 league that used to be known as the  U21 Premier League. The name changed to the "Premier League 2" and is now a U-23 league.  Teams can play several overage players in those games, which is why you often see a senior player who is coming off an injury playing for the club's U-23 team. They probably have a cup tournament as well.

The U-18s have the U18 Premier League, the FA Youth Cup and, for teams in the Champions League, the UEFA Youth League.

Newcastle up 0-2 to Oxford and per Magpie way can't put their chances away and give up a stupid foul that leads to an Oxford goal. Geordies trying to give this match away 

 
And in extra time Geordies give up the goal in the final minute to Haaland his first for Oxford. ET in the cup Final at The Kassam Stadium

Was the Shrews goal really chalked off for offside?  Or was it something else?  Or earlier in the buildup maybe?

I've seen the clip and I don't see anyone anywhere near offside.

No idea, wasn't watching, just saw the score.

 
It was the first pass in.  The clip I was watching started too late to see, but it came in to a player that came back from an offside position and didn't quite make it.

 
Picked a good day to work from home and check in on the Copa. Real Madrid was trailing 4-1 and made it 4-3 in the 93rd or so minute but ran out of time, so Sociedad advance. Barcelona just gave up the winner at the death so they’re gone, too, losing to Bilbao.

I know he got the first goal. I think he might have had an assist, too.

I'm still fairly new to all of this but I thought there was some kind of rule about a loaned player not being allowed to play against the parent club, or is that specific to league play or specific leagues?

You call yourself a supporter... Supporter card should be revoked for missing a Darby. When a Darby is on nothing else matters. Only two things we didn't get in this one. A penalty Kick and a little group scrum with players pushing and shoving and yelling. We had goals some yellow cards. An assistant sent off, exciting futboll and a packed San Siro.

I'd go as far best Player to ever play at any point in their 30s at a high level. Ibra was pretty pissed off fans and critics thought he was done and counting him out for going to MLS. Discrediting him for his success while in the league. Ibra apparently wanted to continue and prove the critics never doubt the king of Football. If him and Milan couldn't agree he was just gonna simple retire.

Different types of players and hard to compare.  At MF, Giggs had to put in the work, getting back on D and attacking.  As a striker Zlatan can bide his time until someone serves him.  For pure goals and assists, yes Zlatan is hard to touch.  For the rest of the game, Giggs put in the work

 
Ok, do I have to explicitly explain the others’ joke?  Leo Messi is 32. CR7 is 35.   I assume Andy didn’t mean to use 30 as his cutoff, but we have a pretty small top league sample size for Zlatan at 35+.

Some positions will be harder to fill than others. Godin, Sergio Ramos, Pique, and Chiellini are all over 30., for example. 

Modric is 34.  As is David Silva  And you have Messi, CR7, and Zlatan  

30 is pretty young for a keeper  

But it’s tough to find great older fullbacks since Lahm retired
