Alavés seems to be well drilled and cohesive defensively. Their second goal was a screwup by Mathieu (I think) on a botched clearance.

Messi, Iniesta, and Suárez didn't come on until well into the second half.

Costa with a yellow. Shocking. Dirty challenge and lots of acting. Can't ####### stand him. Hope the second booking comes soon.

Opening weekend for NFL and all I care about is watching EPL.

This Swansea/Chelsea game has been fun.

Imagine that - Costa booked and 60 seconds later he's on the ground after getting cleated.  Amazing how he finds himself in this crap.

It's impossible to feel any sympathy for him - he's a dirty scimbag - I gladly turn a blind eye when he gets hacked.

and he should be off for simulation  trying to con the ref there

Costa actually kicked Naughton in the head with that score yet no dangerous play called. I can understand not calling it for coming close like Koscielny yesterday, but when you actually kick him, well, how do you not call that?

Gotta love these Sundays - killer game and then a 10 minute break and NFL takes off for the day - Happy Sunday Gentlemen

Totti is subbed on at half, with Roma trailing 2-1.  There was an 80 min delay, due to a ferocious hailstorm, so the field was terrible.  It's his first minutes of the season, so he just provides an assist to tie it up, & then decides to win the game in the 93rd minute.  He turns 40 in two weeks.

I saw a Stat that he's scored in 23 Serie A seasons

Diego's primal scream at FT whistle was awesome. What a great man. I didn't think I could love him any more, but he just keeps getting better and better each week.
