⚽ Soccer Match-day Thread (4 Viewers)

Phoenix won their 15th straight last night.  They believe they are the first US club team to ever do this in a single season.  The Galaxy did it but they spanned two seasons.

Good to see after all these years of non stop scoring, Lewondowski looks like he is finally slowing down.  Only 7 goals in 4 games so far.....

Lets take a moment to recognize this post - setting aside that Palace found a winner - United fan is excited about salvaging 1 point, at home, against Crystal Palace.

It was a last minute equalizer.  There's no world in which that isn't a big goal.

Steve Bruce gets first win Toon Army gun absolutely bonkers in supporters away corner. VAR denies media's beloved Harry Kane of a PPK. Joelinton's first EPL stuns the Spurs

that game was a blue print for everything MLS wants to be some day on a consistent basis.  Great skill, awesome crowd and atmosphere, driving a nail into the "no one cares about the regular season" issue, etc.

Shame that Vela got hurt and had to be subbed.  That was shaping up to be an epic half.

I recorded it with the intent of watching today after a long, exhausting weekend... started watching at kickoff, 11pm ET and couldn't stop.

caught the short onfield interview with the zlat afterwards- actually apologized for being so tired by the end . he was gassed- gals had a break with pavon and zlat could barely move to walk 10'-  left pavon on his own without any support on the break to do what he could against 3 defenders (and almost made something happen). this, after commenting on the team needing the points to make the playoffs- so seems to have changed his tune a bit.

vela was starting to make it happen prior to his injury. hope he's ok (can't believe I just typed that).

great game. and of course, bolstered by the big stars playing at star levels.

you know that game was monstrous in size when it could actually make Vela get upset at being subbed out.   This is a guy who really hates his job and always has.

I can't imagine being that good at anything and not finding some joy in it.

To me, that United corner was a perfect opportunity for VAR - all it takes is the VAR official to speak to the on-field official that it was clearly last touched by Rashford.

Could be done in a matter of seconds - before the corner is actually taken.

I realize its not a reviewable offense - but its that kind of obvious error that should be corrected, not the 1/2 inch off-side call.
