Barcelona has been so frustratingly inconsistent, but today is showing how much better they look with youth like Puig and Fati playing

To be a little fair to Leicester - they did play without a starting CB - Soyuncu, a starting RB - Pereira, a starting LB - Chilwell, and starting AM - Maddison

to say they are limping home is quite the understatement.

I know Soyuncu was sitting due to a red - were the others injured?  Seems weird to sit them otherwise with a week before United and so much to play for.

Of course, in the history of Spursy, Spurs finishing 7th and Arsenal winning the FA Cup would have to rank pretty close to the top.

Spurs have Palace in week 38

Wolves have Palace in week 37, and Chelsea in week 38.

Hopefully Chelsea still have something to play for...

Is that what the coaches said, or just what's been inferred?
NBC reporting he is carrying a slight knock.

Pulisic, 21, was dropped to the bench for Chelsea’s FA Cup semifinal against Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday as Frank Lampard confirmed the American winger has been struggling with a knock.

“They are a very strong side and they have obvious threats in attacking areas, but my concern is what can we do. The couple of changes I have made, with Christian Pulisic dealing with an injury, I think it’s a team that can win the game,” Lampard told the BBC before the game.

There are no more details about the nature of Pulisic’s injury but after a lengthy absence in early 2020 due to an adductor injury, Chelsea and Lampard will be taking no chances when it comes to the USMNT star.

Poor Bailly...back to back head butts
I like him but the dude is injury and error prone - it’s like he’s Phil Jones twin brother.

*yes I realize head knocks aren’t fair to be called injuries but like Jones he contorts his body in weird ways, is out of position and gets off balanced - I’m convinced it contributes to the knocks he seems to pick up every match

Zoumas kinda similar. Never seems quite in sync with his own body.

Pogba, as expected by me, has come on and look completely disinterested and gets a yellow.  Jogging around the pitch like it’s a Sunday men’s league match.  I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a player that should never be a sub more than him.

So bad today.

Seemed like at 3-0, he just completely gave up. Every time he was on the ball the game just stopped...he invited Chelsea players to double him and then strip him.

Bunch of good performances by Chelsea players. Couple guys in James and Mount who had been really poor lately both stepped up with great games.

Is Jorginho hurt too? Kova was fantastic setting up in front of the back four, but struggled going forward.

Jorginho hasn't had many minutes since the restart.  He felt a little slow out there.  Kova was fantastic against the press and in defense.  No idea why his final ball was so lackluster today.

Chelsea's back 3 played great.  James played like an all-world wing back.  Mount, Giroud, and Willian were relentless with their press today.  Lampard did very well with his selection.

Gunner, on the other hand.....

That was the worst display I've seen from United this season.  So disjointed and off their game.  Rashford and Matic were poor from the start.  I actually thought Bailly was good until the double head butts.

As much as De Gea deserves the furur over the first goal, it could have benn prevented by any defensive awareness from Williams & Matic (how did they both let the winger get easily in behind them), McGuire for not closing down before the cross, and Lindelof for getting beat to the ball at the near post.  Not to mention De Gea for a weak reaction.

Then he makes it worse on the 2nd goal.  I don't know why Romero wasn't in there, hes been a star in the cups.  This made the decision worse.

Chelsea played good enough.  Nothing special, but good enough.  United were crap.  They best get it together for the final 2 games with a everything from 3rd to 6th in play.  Nothing less then 4th will be acceptable, esp giving away the FA Cup.

fwiw... I thought degea was worse on the 2nd goal. 1st was a tough, reaction save right on top of him with bodies in the box... it squirted through his arm and body, which happens. yeah, could've done better, but it happens. 2nd was right in front of him without any distractions... just completely miscalculated getting down and the parry. and it wasn't exactly a blistering shot- decently struck, but nothing that should trouble even the most average EPL GK.

for whatever reason (and matic doesn't help in this regard), chelsea looked faster on, off and to the ball. was surprised that bruno was mostly invisible- figured he'd dominate kova and pull the strings to free up some of what's been a lethal United attack. but none of them were really firing on the day. and yeah- credit should go to the chelsea players for stepping up and having good games when they needed to... which could be argued was at least part of why United struggled.

Well let's see.....United been playing with 4 in the back since, well, I can't recall them not playing with 4 in the back since signing Maguire.  But for this one, Ole decides to start 3 CB's.

And they've been primarily the same lineup the past 5-6 games, but this time he decides to rotate out both Martial (who's been in great form since the restart) and Greenwod with James and Brandon Williams.  So, Rashford instead of pairing up with the dangers wingers who have gotten him space, has nothing with him.  I expected Matic to start, and he was just fine, but Ole #### the bed here by not only rotating completely too much, but changing formation for no apparent reason whatsover.

Shaw as unavailable, fine.  Fosu Mensah was.  Dalot was (but for some inane reason didn't even make the bench).

Williams was the worst player on the pitch, by far and tbh, I hope he never plays another game for United again.  Ever.  NEVER EVER.

And why Ole decided to start DeGea is another head scratcher.

I get the team needs to rotate, but ffs, there are only 2 league games left.  And this is the semi-finals of the FA Cup against Chelsea.  No reason whatsover Martial shouldn't have started and the formation kept alone.
