I got 2 days off now but will probably watch the Newcastle and Milan Matches after the Union Match and some Sunday night Football. Don't need to keep too much track of the game tonight as I won my fantasy match up already in the one league I care about the most.

Don’t. Just fast forward to 90 minutes. Totally negative football and you’ll gain nothing.

Jaun Aguadello blew a tire before HT a Hammy. It's pouring in Philly ball goes out they've already played the 45 plus the Extra. Ref doesn't blow for half time. Takes 2  mins or so Jaun comes off the pitch, Ref allows Blake the goal kick and once its in the air blows for HT. Also some very questionable calls by the refs calling some stuff and completely letting stuff that should be called go. I'm just out of words for that half

I just suffered watching the Eagles tie today I don't think Newcastle will be any different. What can I say other then I'm a gluttten to terrible sports play right now

Why are the union players being such #####? Was he jawing or acting up earlier? Otherwise, no reason to get in a guy's face for missing the pk when you're already up 2-0
He was already jawing and complaining to the ref early in the game. I didn't see it but commentators said he and Mark McKenzie exchanged pleasantries earlier in the game as well. Just typical Higuian behavior when he's not getting his way. Every time he lost the ball tonight he was looking at the ref for help.

Meh. Still poor form by the Union guys imo that surrounded him. Let the win do the talking. And McK could certainly remind him one on one later about his nifty pk.

Last two times both clubs have met now it's gotten physical. I'm sure there was some stuff from the prior match these guys were going at it. Add in a bit time DP who is use to the refs helping him and his club every chance he has comes in right away expecting to get all the calls without playing and then jawing at players and I think that was just the result of all of that combined. Also Higuan has always been easy to frustrate. I remember the one year at Milan he missed a PK against Juve and then got himself sent off because he couldn't cool himself

Late to the party but what a debacle of a game for United.  The equalizer was coming from BHA and they deserved a point.  PK was legit (and more of a handball then Lindelof's last weekend) but I will grant you the added Fergie time was interesting. Guess no one listens when the announcers say "Its a minimum of ____ mins". But I can't argue for 2 added mins after the announced min of 5.... even with a goal celebration.

Front 3 were very static most of the game.  Bailly is a better partner for McGuire then Lindelof (who seems to be going back to the basics with when in doubt kick it out).  Shaw needs to learn to track back with pace and get goal side, AWB needs to stop pinching in and marking Lindelof instead of the backpost player.

Good thing Rashford scored (great ball by Bruno and great skill by Rashford) since both Greenwood and Martial were alone with better looks at the goal.

Good thing BHA gets another crack at United this week in the League Cup....

Here's some fun news on Inter Miami

MLS league source says Higuain got special treatment to play in Philly

The Union beat the brakes off Inter Miami CF Sunday night, winning 3-0 at a rainy Subaru Park to maintain their hold on second place in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference.

On the field for the visitors was recently signed superstar Gonzalo Higuain, who joined from powerhouse Juventus in Italy’s Serie A. He’s a 32-year-old Argentina international who previously played for clubs Real Madrid, Napoli, Chelsea, and AC Milan.

A trustworthy league source from my Union beat writer days resurfaced Sunday night, saying that Higuain probably shouldn’t have been cleared to play in this game, because he left the country to get his P1 Visa a few days prior and was not required to do the mandatory quarantine upon re-entry.

Well ok then... Philly players definitely should act like #######s then.

Not a good look for the league. The Union had to literally make Trades to get Maurice Edu where Dempsey and I forget the other who came back automatically went to SEA and I believe LAG or NYR. I understand wanting to get big names on the field but that's not how it should be done.

Lol.

My point was more about the indefensible and amateur actions of the union guys getting in his face. MLSs bizarre rules are never a good look, but same for those guys.

Higuain kind of deserves the backlash. Dude is always complaining on the pitch. Dude gave zero effort at Milan he then went back to Juve where they didn't even want him anymore and then had his contract terminated. Not a good look for the guy. He was literally crying at the ref all night in the game. I got no problem when players troll a guy like that. Maybe if he put as much effort acting like a crybaby into his time with the National team he wouldn't choke all the time with them. Dude needs to realize he's not at Juventus anymore and he's not gonna get some Phantom calls. Him missing on the PK was just icing on the cake. The guy who was in his face Martinez he had gotten into it earlier in the match after Gonzo tried to bully Mark McKenzie. McKenzie had made a very good physical defense on Gonzo in the back. No different then a lot of defending. Didn't grab a shirt or anything other then putting his arm out to give less room. Gonzo kept calling for a foul and I think McKenzie told him to shut up. Gonzo has always been hothead. He missed a PK with Milan against Juve (Just as bad as last night) and Juve players had some words with him. About 5-8 Minutes later he made a stupid foul that gave him a straight red. I'm sure that's what the Union was trying to do. Players like that are always gonna have people try and get in your head. He's no Mario Balottelli hot head but Gonzo when frustrated tends to get reckless out there.

Wonder if Lamps realizes CP > Mount (yes I know CP is hurt, but still Lamps seems to prefer MM when CP isn't hurt. )
To be fair to Mount - he has good games.  Today was not one of them.

(Pulisic is still miles ahead of Mount when both are healthy, but CP my need rotation to keep healthy.)

:goodposting:  agreed.  I don't watch a lot of Chelsea, just feels like Mount is Lamp's boy regardless and CP is so much better.

I don't think these two players were competing with each other last season, and would say in no way was Mount preferred over Pulisic.  Although I agree that was at times the popular sentiment among US internet posters.  This season, its hard to tell how he's going to line up the new guys, but I think most everyone agrees that Pulisic is an extremely important player for Chelsea and is sorely missed.  I would say Pulisic was competing with Willian, Pedro and Hudson-Odoi last season.  This season, two of those guys are gone, but Pulisic, Odoi, Havertz and possibly Ziyech will all be looking for minutes on the wings.

I think that concept went out the window during Project Restart when Pulisic basically got them CL football all by himself.

Mount can be a good player, but it's glaringly obvious he's not a creator.  He should be playing as an 8 in a 4-3-3 and should be riding pine when Lampard goes to a 4-2-3-1 like today.  However, Frank appears to value Mount's pressing ability over any actual creativity.

As a Chelsea guy, what is your take on Frank?  Is he over his head in the EPL?  He didn't have much experience before joining Chelsea.  Also, do you think his job is on the line this year?

I was worried when they hired him, coming in with very little experience, but I think he proved himself.  I've never pretended to be a tactics guy, so can only judge a manager based on results.  There's no predicting what the owner will do with his managers on this club, but I expect it would take a stunningly bad run of games for Frank to be fired this season.  Maybe a bottom-half of the table finish would put his job on the line.
