⚽ Soccer Match-day Thread (2 Viewers)

So much talk all week about whether Spurs would try and ultimately help Arsenal. Even Spurs coach was getting upset when asked and seemed to get into it with a fan at the game asking him "who's side are you on?".

Big day in the EPL towards deciding Europa places. Chelsea take on Brighton and ManU v. Eddie Howe's Mags. Newcastle can almost guarantee at least Conference League with one win in the last two.

Working from home today. I've got two TV's set up in my garage, a gaggle of teenage boys and a couple dads coming over. Unfortunately I have to coach my daughter's track practice a bit later so have to enjoy these games in moderation.

I haven't figured out what is best for CFC in the other game so really just hoping to give Brighton, Hove AND Albion all a good bashing today.

You want Newcastle to lose. :boxing:

We all want that

GIVE IT AWAY, GIVE IT AWAY, GIVE IT AWAY NOW.....
GIVE IT AWAY, GIVE IT AWAY, GIVE IT AWAY NOW.....

If Spurs bottle this weekend, Chelsea win, and ManU wins the Cup, then Spurs would miss Europa League and move down to Conference League.

It sounds like the most Spurs thing that could happen. I might have to find a Sportsbook before Saturday.

If Spurs bottle this weekend I'll pay you out myself

Now it makes sense that Bayern signed Kane for £100M - they needed someone with experience in finishing 3rd in a 2-team race.

Mission Accomplished!
Yep. Going up 2-0 in the first few minutes looked good, and losing 4-2 was rough.
Kim, Choupo-Moting, Sane, Musiala, Gnabry, Kane, Guerreiro, Coman and Sarr out injured did not help.

Leverkusen fall behind early to Atalanta in the Europa final as they try to close out an undefeated season (with the Pokal still to come).

I was rooting for Leverkusen to get the true invincible season.
Yup, ditto. Crazy good season for them
For sure. I don't understand why the Europa Final is still midweek. They moved the CL final to a weekend, could have done the same for this. CL Sat, Europa Sunday....

Well, still rooting for them to do the unbeaten domestic double!

They’ve lost their last 5 cup finals

Welp, there is a good reason why they were often referred to as "Neverkusen"

Lets see - if United win, ETH still gets sacked, Chelsea drop down to Conference League, Newcastle are out of Europe, and Arsenal are out of the Community Shield.

Not often that there are so few downsides to an outcome.

I could very well see a weekend where Newcastle finish higher than ManU in the league for the first time in the Premier League era but lose out on Europe to them anyway, and then ManU turns around and steal Ipswich’s manager.

It came as something of a surprise to me how happy I was to see the United over City score just now.

At least United are an honest club, singing for their supper. And it's nice to see the oil sheiks and their GOAT frontrunning manager take one in the nads.
