I imagine this might be a good spot to allude to some predicted numbers A certain site via Twitter listed the top eight or so QB's for yardage Rodgers name wasn't present and the list was only for NFC QB's One might say Rodgers best serves your team as a backup?? Also of note Hilton had @ eight games w/ 30 yds or less last Seasontangfoot said:

Since the old saw about "mileage" and "age came up, here is my take. Age matters for RBs. Mileage--not so much. A great player will get a lot of mileage because they are great, so teams will use them a lot. Less great players or players who get hurt or who are smaller tend not to get as much mileage. I want great players. People are not cars. Mileage is true of cars as the combustion engine is under extreme pressure and heat and use does graduatlly wear it down and parts must be replaced. But the human body when it is in top physical shape does not wear down simply because you run or play football. Injury history is what you should monitor, not how many yards a guy has carried.
As for age, post-28 you start to see most good backs start to slow down and post 30 most backs fall off a cliff. The one exception is Hall of Fame type backs who don't get injured often. They can be effective fantasy players into their early 30s. But there are not many of them.
Hyde is not a Hall of Fame type back.

I am truly amazed sometimes at the value placed on a guy that has never played a down in the NFL, I made an offer for the 1.01 and was told it would take Kamara, Michael Thomas my first this year and next. I simply said I guess you slammed the door on any further discussions. While I would take Barkley with the 1.01 he had games that were pedestrian and assured us all he is human and can fail at the next level. I would not mortgage my future for him.
Crazy ask for 1.01 but sounds like he wanted to slam the door on further discussions. We all have done that at some point.
Beckham is coming off a serious ankle injury. Barkley plays a position that is more valuable. It isn't quite that cut and dry on which part someone should want. On the other part I would trade 1.1 for Kamara and Thomas in a heart beat. Without the 1sts. It is obvious he doesn't want to trade it.

Yeah it has been several years since I have seen discussion about the mileage perspective and how that may or may not affect RB performance.
Last study I recall looking at in regards to this is that a RB who is getting more carries or touches is actually more likel get a lot of touches in future seasons than a RB getting fewer opportunities.
So the opposite of what people will say for example setting a certain number of rushing attempts as a threshold for when to expect that players performance to decline. I guess I haven't seen such arguments for a few years now is because they have been pretty thoroughly debunked.
Now I do think there is something to a RB making what is often called business decisions. Those hard hits the players are taking in games is something that I can see adding up over time. I've listened to Emmitt Smith talk about this in reference to advice for Elliot. Emmitt is telling him to try to avoid taking those hits as much as possible and that by doing so it can prolong his career. If anyone would know its Emmitt.

Agreed my point was more about how much some rookies are valued over established players and the fact they have never played a down in the league. Time and time again we see sure fire player crash and burn. Barkley may or may not it but it's certainly no for gone conclusion IMO.

According to the tweet I read it appears there should be @ 12 QB's who perform better stat wise than Rodgers Obviously it doesn't account for TD's

Ok so you’re saying your read there are 12 qbs, in the NFC, that will be statistically better than Rodgers if you ignore the vital TD statistic? Sounds like some fake news, unfollow whoever said that. Don’t know why people make arguements like “if you ignore all his rushing yards, tds, and take off 500 passing yds, he no better than Sam Bradford!”

PFF posted a list of NFC QB's which didn't include Rodgers nor Wentz to name a few I will try to look for the tweet tonight if I remember The list is a total of 8 I believe I'm just assuming the conference has a Top 4 to add

Wentz, cousins, goff, brees, Stafford, cam, garrappolo, Eli, dak, winston, Wilson, Ryan? That leaves smith, Bradford, Trubisky as the only nfc qbs who are “worse”. I suppose anything is possible, but I’d take Rodgers to finish top 5 of that group if healthy. Pretty solid qb group in the nfc. Brees and Eli won’t be around forever but the rest of those guys could easily be the qbs for these teams for the next 6-7 years. Qb needy teams are mostly afc apparently. Anyway, we’re veering way off topic.

Now one could easily say while Rodgers ranks in at 11 or 12 But ya may wanna stop and think of names missing ie. Wentz It also may be worth considering the fact that Rodgers turns 35 this Season when calculating rushing yds etc. (imho) IF you have a chance to land Barkley and it only cost Rodgers n' Hilton?? I'd say its a no-brainer

Well to be honest, I drafted Wentz to be Rodger's backup last year. It took his injury to finally push Wentz into the starting position. Wentz had outperformed him every week.

I'm on board with that idea but with the caveat that you need competent owners who are roughly equal in experience. Or in small stakes leagues where people don't get upset about dumb moves.
Not to insult their intelligence outside of FF but we've all seen smart people make mistakes when they're just getting started in dynasty especially.
When you put it in terms of players it's not all that uncommon. That's roughly Todd Gurley for Christian McCaffery and Cooper kupp. The vast majority here wouldn't do that but you can probably find those deals in the trade thread.

I agree with this. I've seen people in Fantasy right after a draft or before give away farm for a player who ends up being a complete bust because they put all their eggs in a non established player. One guy in my league spent at least 3 1/2 yrs trying to get back to relevance after two terrible trades.

Add Mixon to the Julio side and at least I need to think for a second before rejecting it.
Just got offered Devonta Freeman, Golden Tate and 1.6 in the 1 league I have the 1.1. Thought it was a good offer but figure those peices wouldn't really help me that much considering I just started the rebuild last season so don't quite have enough to think about being a contender yet

I love Julio but that offer was straight trash. Offering up a twilight player for a "generational talent" and another young rb I'm high on is insanity. Julio is gonna have a huge game or two this year but when does the action stop i feel like he's entering twilight andre johnson territory. At any point he could turn into a wr2 or hell wr3. He's never been a td guy and if teams continue to double team him he will struggle more and more to beat the doubles as he ages. Just strange the guy actually thinks I passed on a huge trade opportunity. Opportunity to get ripped off lol. I won this league in 2016 so it's not like I'm a perennial basement dweller that doesn't know what he's doing.

I worked with a guy who had a bunch of homemade sayings that didn’t make sense, like “beaver up a tree won’t get wet.” Whatever that means. Varying contexts used.wiersface said:

Grrrrr....
