1.07: Who Should The Minnesota Vikings Take? (1 Viewer)

The Vikings are in a position to take BPA. If Brady Quinn is available they could go that way.

Any of the top 10 rated players would help.

My personal order of preference:

1. Calvin Johnson

2. Brady Quinn

3. Adrian Peterson

4. Gaines Adams

5. Jamaal Anderson

6. Laron Landry

7. Patrick Willis (I think the MLB spot is soft for the Vikes. Whether or not Willis is a good cover 2 LB is debateable, though.)

8a. Joe Thomas

8b. Alan Branch (The depth behind Williams x 2 is pretty poor.)

After watching LSU pro day and listening to Landry last night on NFL Network...I think they should take him! The guy is going to be a stud.

I would like Quinn, but think that Jackson will be ok and has the strong arm.

my board

c. johnson

j. thomas

a. peterson

l. landry

try and trade down

g. adams

b. quinn

j. russell

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Vikings have signed former Colt Mike Doss to a 1yr/$1million deal.

Between Doss/Sharper/Smith/Blue/Williams, I see very little chance that they add Laron Landry to that mix.

I think they go WR.

At QB I think they sign a vet since there are plenty out there.

I just think those are the 2 most apparant holes in that team.

They cannot take any WR not named Calvin Johnson at #7 overall. One name that came back across my radar at QB is Tim Rattay. I always felt he got a raw deal in SF and played pretty well at the end of last year for Tampa. I think he's worth it to the Vikes to give him a try.

I think Vikes fans might need to get used to the idea of Brady Quinn. If Cleveland doesn't take him, I feel confident that he will still be on the board when Minnesota's on the clock. If Gaines Adams is there, one would think he's a no brainer, but who knows how the brass will feel about Quinn?

I may start believing in Jesus if the Vikings end up with Quinn.

Haven't I expounded on my man-crush for Quinn enough? :towelwave:A four year starter at a major D-1 school that he returned to prominence while surrounded by marginal talent, all the while putting up tremendous numbers. It's either that or the D-1AA project with good physical abilities. No brainer in my eyes.

hey andy, you're a vikings homer, right?

you really think they'd take peterson over jamal anderson?

i suppose it makes sense, i just have a hard time putting him there.do they expect to get anything out of Erasmus James this year?
Yes they could really take Peterson over Anderson. And I would be one happy fan.I'm hearing more and more that it's a possibility as well.I don't think they're expecting to get anything out of James this year. He's not going to be ready by camp. Also, I think the sleeper DE for the Vikings may be Ray Edwards who played pretty well in spot duty last year.

Minnesota's draft board should look like this:

Calvin Johnson

Jamarcus Russell

Brady Quinn

Gaines Adams

Adrian Peterson

Alan Branch

Jamaal Anderson
