need some advice please. I need runningback help badly,; keeper league, with c.taylor, j.jones, m.barber as my keepers. want to draft peterson #1 but maybe having 2nd thoughts about it. want the best player period, no matter what the numbers are this year. which player, in the long run will stand out the most? how long will take? ( sorry, maybe this question has been asked over and over. new to the forum.)

in dynasty or keeper, take who you think is going to have the best NFL career. I would go Peterson

Welcome to the forum. I would try a search on "rookies" or "Peterson" to try and find a bunch of threads with information about the question.

With that said, it is a HUGE consensus that A Peteterson is the #1 rookie taken. In fact, if you have any question at all about who should be #1, it is far more likely to involve Calvin Johnson rather than Lynch. I don't know of anyone that has touted Lynch as a better pro prospect (or fantasy prospect) than Peterson at all.

(In short, search for more detail, but go Peterson... 98%+ of the people will likely agree)

I am a strond believer that Peterson is the best bet. I just yesterday traded rookie pick 1.02 and 2.03 to move up one spot to 1.01 so I could take Peterson. I feel Lynch's potential is to become a solid RB while I believe Peterson can be an elite RB.

Then you'd better hope that Jackson is the real deal. If Minny can't find a QB in the near future,Peterson will see nothing but 8 men in the box on every carry. T-Jax looked nice last night, FWIW.

I think people completely forget about Jackson's impact and whether or not he can keep defenses honest.Jackson and that WR core aren't striking fear in the heart of any defense and I suspect that Taylor andPeterson are going to see a lot of 8 men fronts.

I would have to agree Peterson has the better long term prospects, but if I am desperate for RB help and in a small keeper league (like keep 3), I think the value for THIS year and maybe even the next couple would be on Lynch. It's close...but I wouldnt call it an overwhelming majority.

Yep. Same reason that just about any NFL 3rd-string scrub RB would gain 1200 yards in Indy & Cincy.

I think Koya is dead on. Calvin Johnson vs ADP is the question. I personally think CJ is a lock (if there is such a thing) to be a superstar in the NFL. There is absolutely nothing not to like about him except that he plays for the Lions... ugh. That being said, the last time I said this was when Ricky Williams came out and we all know how that turned out...

Lynch can be a solid RB, but Peterson is an elite talent who has the upside to be a top 5 stud for a long time. Those kind of RBs are by far the hardest thing to get in fantasy football. I think taking Lynch over Peterson borders on foolish.
