2 round mock draft in the books ! (1 Viewer)

Here's where personal opinion differs from accepted scouting, but I personally would convert O'Callaghan in a heartbeat. He is bigger and faster than Jean-Gilles and much better pass protecter. Do most see him that way? Not sure. I know I'm not along, but Max is a fine pick too.
You guys were reading my mind as I posted all that.I came thisclose to picking O'Callahan here as the "Logan mankins" pick of this draft, but Scott is just too damn good not to go in the first round.

OK, the value here is at OT, not OG.

With the 30th pick, the Colts select Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas

Colts could use an upgrade on the line, and while the biggest need is up the middle, Scott projects to be a potential franchise LT and is simply the best player available here.

On to the Seahawks at #31....
If Scott is the best OL available, the Colts can move Diem to Guard and get Lilja or Jake Scott out of the starting lineup. Sounds good to me.

I said it before this team befuddles me. Highest scoring offense. D led the NFL in sacks. Lots of talent in the seconday. :dunno:

I like one of the top Linebackers still lingering.

Carpenter.

Howard.

Sims.

Their starting RG (Gray) is 36 years old. They drafted a center in the first round last year knowing Tobeck was still solid but aging.

With pick #31, the Seahawks take Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio St.

With Warrick and Jurevicius likely out the door, the value here is off the charts. Makes too much sense not to project this.

Finally, we've got the Super Bowl champion Steelers. Needs could include WR or S if El and/or Hope walk - they could also use some OL depth and DE depth. Will likely draft BPA at this point.

Mangold? Whitner? Sinorice Moss? Gilles?

I ####### HATE OHIO STATE but I'd love Holmes here.

That guy from Mississippi (Spencer?) could play all 3 interior line positions. Maybe they add another interior lineman. But that would make 2 drafts in a row.....Santonio

Whitner and Troy would be nuts. Adding to the OL is the rich getting richer. Cowher loves his LBs, and there's some nice ones falling.I like Whitner though. Two sub 4.4 safeties who cover everything and hit like trucks. It's almost cheating.

Mangold?  Whitner?  Sinorice Moss?  Gilles?
Are they re-signing Hope?
 I think the re-signing of Hope and Randle-El are dependent on what other offers they get. if one or both gets a $2-3 million/yr multi-year contract, they're gone. if not, they bring one back if the CBA isn't completed and the cap stays at 95m, maybe both if it goes to $105m

Don't and take Whitner.

Whitner would be an oustanding fit with Polamalu, IMO.

Fine. I'm prejudiced against these receivers. I think most teams already have better than what is available, but I could be wrong. I think the OL you're thinking of is Spitz from Louisville? Versatile, but probably 3rd round guy. Seattle is goofy sometimes though.

This is your pick EG but I say Antonio Cromartie or Charles Gordan.

:penalty:
I think Cromartie mught be a bit raw for them in round 1. they have takena lot of raw DB prospects lately in Ike Taylor, Colclough, etc.

Gilles is made for Stiller football too.
 They may have their backup to Simmons already though in Chris Kemoeatu - he looked excellent in pre-season last year and is a developing prospect.

Gordon is borderline first day from everything I'm reading. Blackmon will go before him, supposedly. I love Cromartie though.
I think Gordan is going to be a stud. I'm an OU guy and I watched him the past two years pretty closely. Guy is a ballhawk.

Maybe. This is a deep deep crop of DBs.

Whitner or Mangold - I have one minute to decide.
Safeties can be had throughout the draft. You don't take center fielders in round 1.Go with Mangold. The best center prospect in years.

With the last pick of round 1, the Steelers select Nick Mangold, C, Ohio St.

Great centers and the Steelers go together like ham and cheese. The depth at S is too strong for them to take Whitner here, they likely wait and get a Jason Allen or Cedric Griffin. No great C prospects behind Mangold, though, and either Okobi or Hartings may be released.

Anyone want to do round 2 tomorrow? :D

Do it. I hate the thought of Troy and Whitner together. I'll lose sleep until there's a new mock.
