2010 Offseason Dynasty Trades (1 Viewer)

Roddy for me as well.

I traded for Roddy to be a true #1 as I had a glut of #2 type WR's:

Harvin and Garcon for Roddy

I just don't understand why you would ask for two guys who aren't as good as the ugy you're giving. I love packaging lesser talents to get one guy who'll see my lineup.

The guy on the Moreno/Britt side probably think he is putting two guys into his starting line-up, both of which are young with the chance to improve. Not sure why that type of trade is illogical. I think the trade is pretty equal and depending on the normal factors: roster construction, line-up requirements, etc I could see myself doing either side on a given roster.

Team A: 1.02 and Ricky WilliamsTeam B: Desean Jackson and 3.03ppr
Fair deal.
I thought so too, we went back and fourth on this one for a while. I was the team that received DJ, I also have the 1.1. I at 1 point of the offseason had 5 of the top 6 draft picks and have turned them and some players into Calvin Johnson, DJ, and Roddy white. I've had a pretty good offseason. I'm gonna take Mathews 1st and planed on taking Dez withe 2nd, but found myself in a win next year mode and decided to role with DJ, and just wasn't entirely sold on Dez. I also turned around that 3.03 to a lower tier 2011 2nd.

That's all fine if you think we've seen the best Moreno and Britt has to offer -- if you think they'll improve, and I think Britt has huge upside, then the deal makes sense. I think Britt has top 10 potential in the next year or two even with Vince Young, so I'd be willing to roll the dice with Britt/Moreno.

I don't mean to come off sayign it's illogical, I just mean that on none of my teams would I do that. I think the guy getting Roddy is doing a great job of selling guys who could still easily bust for a proven top 10 type of player.

Love this trade for team B. They basically get Dez and either Spiller or Best for Wayne. Got a lotta love for Wayne, and I do subscribe to F&L's theory that the team who gets the best player usually wins the trade. In this case though, I stress the word "usually".

Yep, pretty good coupe by team B. Don't think you'd be able to find someone willing to give all that for Wayne in most leagues.

Takes the steam out of the "Reggie Wayne has lost all his trade value this offseason" meme.
Because one person in one league valued him highly? There are about 6000 trades in this thread alone that wouldn't fly in 99% of fantasy football leagues. One guy making a silly trade doesn't dictate a player's trade value in normal leagues.

What do we know about the quality of the league, or the Wayne-acquiring owner that allows you to make this judgment? Is this a very high price for Wayne? Hell yes, but remember the price is set by the buyer who values him highest. My point is that Wayne's value is high-variance; different owners will value him VERY differently this offseason (FBG still has him as a top-five Dynasty WR last time I checked, whereas a minority of dynasty players seem to consider his value to be in the WR15-20 range). There have been MULTIPLE references to Wayne's value "falling of a cliff", or "dropping like a stone" this offseason (based on a "disappointing 100/1200/10 season, but that's another story). I'm not arguing in any way that Wayne is a consensus top 5 dynasty WR. I'm arguing that there is also no consensus that his value has dropped to WR2 territory. In fact my argument is that there's very little consensus amongst dynasty owners about exactly where to value him, and that where this occurs, his value will more often be set by the owner who sees him as a top dynasty WR and is willing to pay based on that evaluation.

Team A: Vincent Jackson and 2011 1st rounder (Prob top 4)

Team B: Cedric Benson, Shanko, 2011 2nd rounder (prob 8-12 range)

12 team PPR league

Team A is known as being a difficult team to trade with, but he was trying to sell VJ for a RB bad in this case.
