How was this league formed out of interest? Friends? Acquaintances? Work?
Acquaintances, the leagues going into its 4th year and he's never made a trade as terrible as this. I'm actually inclined to think it was sent in error.
This trade would be beyond stupid even if Weeden dies in a plane crash before he accepted it.

Team A gets R. MathewsTeam B gets Stepfan Taylor 2014 1st
that better be a a mid or lower pick when it is all said and done. otherwise, this deal didn't cost much for Team A. if team A has depth behind Matthews then i can understand it. Taylor is a total unknown in the desert now.
Should be a late 1st.....Mathews will be my #4 rb....it seemed like good value to give for Mathews
did you even need him then?

This site should have a dynasty section area.
And I am sure the powers that be will take that suggestion as seriously as they have in the past.
it's a new day though
Oh hell, there has been a new day in this forum on an annual basis for this subject. This has been a perennial topic for about as long as I can remember. And the outcome is always the same, nothing changes. Joe and friends are convinced that the dynasty subject matter overlaps with the redraft content and the two can not be split. The attitude is If it ain't broke, don't fix it and they don't consider it broken. I don't agree with that, but I don't run this place.

1 ppr league (start 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE and 3 flex)

Team A receives: Sproles/Ingram

Team B receives: DeSean/Sidney Rice/Kerley

I just executed the following in a PPR Superflex

Gave: Reggie Wayne

Received: Michael Crabtree (I own Jenkins fwiw...probably not much).

14 team PPR league Gave: Harper rookie WR from Seattle Got: C. Givens
I like it. I have Givens pretty far ahead of Harper based on the facts that we have seen him play and play well. Harper might not even make the final roster.
That'd be a pretty huge shock, actually.
I'm the Harper side in that trade. I think it was an overpay, but I had him in 6/7 leagues and wanted to finish the collection.

Givens is a good player. Great deep threat. Solid height/weight/speed combo. He has shades of Greg Jennings, but might lack some of the possession skills. I think he's a little bit underrated right now and wasn't really itching to trade him.

I think Harper is a little more likely to become a true #1 target though. Monster frame. Great hands. Better long speed than you'd think. Separation is going to be the big question mark, but the overall package is interesting. And then there's the landing spot. I'm a big Russell Wilson fan and I think he has Brees/Rodgers/Brady potential as a passer. The lesson of guys like Lance Moore, Eric Decker, TY Hilton, and James Jones is that a WR doesn't necessarily have to have a dominant flawless skill set to have good FF value with an elite QB.

I think Harper has a chance to be something like James Jones or maybe even Marques Colston for Seattle. The Seahawks have pulled some pretty good players out of the bargain pile in recent years, most notably Russell Wilson in the 3rd round and Richard Sherman in the 5th round. I like their draft this year too and I think Harper could be another surprise success. Tate/Rice/Baldwin are good players and won't be nudged aside easily, but on the other hand none of them are dominant superstars. Harper could be the primary outside WR for Seattle within a couple years. Happy to take that gamble at his current cost, though I overpaid here by quite a bit based on market value.

Interesting. I like Harper as well. Maybe I don't have them as far apart as I thought. I like the home run ability or Givens though and could see him coming in with around 60-70 catches this season. I think he's a good player in a good young offense.

He does not have that "holy crap" size like Harper does though. That is one thing I really like about this kid. James Jones is a nice comparison.

Well hell that didn't take long. After acquiring Desean for a 2014 Second I have this offer, which I accepted.

Gave: Desean Jackson

Got: 2014 1st rounder (I expect it to be top 3), Jonathan Dwyer.

Now that is what I call an EXCELLENT owner to give up a player for a 2014 2nd and not shop him to anyone else.

He will be mad after seeing you flip Djax for that 1st, but he also "hopefully" learned a valuable lesson there.

Then again, time after time in my leagues, the same owners continually make bad deals because the don't shop around at all.

I almost jokingly asked the OP if the other trader was EBF when I first saw this. Not surprised you went out of your way to acquire him in every league and one of the reasons your teams seem to have a Holiday Inn quality to them (if you have seen one you have seen them all). Seemingly about a 50% overlap of players from any one team to another (of the rosters I am aware of) which is unusual in that most owners usually have no more than 3-4 of the same players from one league to another and you usually have about 10-12+. This is an All your eggs in one basket strategy which is great if you figure right on these players, not so much if you figure wrong or they get injured/suspended.That said, honestly not a bad a deal IMO because the Givens' owners in most of my leagues have been trying to unload him, which suggests they are not that optimistic about his future and that his ADP is overvalued. Also I have no problem with anyone overpaying occasionally for a player they really like, particularly a rookie, as this may be the only opportunity one has to acquire them.

A lot of unknowns but give me all the potential for Crabtree.

12 team PPR with Devy players

Trent

Dyer (devy)

for

Dem Thomas

Ivory

Seastrunk (devy)
Interesting deal. Big fan of both Trent and DT. Nearly a wash between those two, though scarcity would favor the RB in a lot of formats.

Also a big Mike Dyer fan. He has NFL starter talent if he gets his head screwed on right. Actually like him more than Seastrunk from a talent perspective at this moment in time, but in terms of perceived value Lache is definitely higher. Add in Ivory and that side "wins" as of right now, though this could be a major coup for the other side in time.

12 team non-PPR

Team A gives:

2 2014 1st rd picks (one late one in the 1.04-1.06 range)

Dwayne Allen

Team B gives:

Andre Johnson

Tony Gonzalez

Fred Jackson (spiller owner)

1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2FLEX (12 team PPR)

Team A gave: Mark Ingram, Kenny Britt, 2.07

Team B gave: DeMarco Murray

Team A needed to consolidate roster to get to limit. Team B is rebuilding and needed depth.

Personally I don't like this for Team A at all, but I don't rank Murray very high and have Britt as a big bounce-back candidate in a contract year. If he moves to a team that has a QB in the 2014 offseason that one will hurt I think.

He couldn't consolidate that into anyone better than Murray? I loath Murray so maybe I'm not the best person to judge this one.
