2013 Off Season Dynasty Trade Thread (for completed trades) (3 Viewers)

Zealots PPR league

I traded the my 1.01 rookie pick this year and my 2014 2nd round rookie pick (unfortunately, I think it'll be a good one) for his 1.04 rookie pick this year and his 2014 1st round rookie pick (which I think will be pretty good).

My thought is that I see no one in this year's draft who is a PPR monster - Tavon Austin included. (His size and playing style scare me, in regard to his long-term prospects. Yes, I know he never missed a college game and only missed one practice.) Dropping to the 1.04 pick still gives me lots of options for this draft.

For next year, from all that I've heard, the prospects are much, much better.

Finally bailed on Ryan Mathews. Traded him in a PPR league for Reggie Bush straight up. I'm just not sure he's got the will to be great and, projection wise, he's behind Charles and Murray as my RB3. I like Bush (Hey Now!) and think he can give me several seasons of good RB3 production which I think is a better bet than Mathews giving several seasons of RB1 or RB2 production.

Getting Bush for Mathews at this point is a freaking master stroke man, good work.

12 team ppr. Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 3 FLEX.

Gave: 2014 2nd (probably pretty high)

Got: WR Chris Harper

Drinking the Kool-Aid. :banned:

What pick was that in 2013 to net Harper? Ballsy, I like it. I thought I was being a bit ballsy to move a 2015 3rd to get him at 5.1.

Thanks. Thought they were generally ranked around the same area/tier so it seemed fair.

The pick belongs to a team that has struggled in recent years. He actually finished last in 2012.

It's a 12 team league and there's a 13th pick added into the first round, so this will be the 14th pick in 2014 at the very best.

Sorry, I meant where did you trade up to in this 2013 rookie draft to get Harper? 2nd round? 3rd? He fell all the way to 5.1 in mine so I'm curious.Edit: Or if this was post draft, where had he been taken?

Draft was a week or two ago.

He was taken at 3.10, so the guy on the other end of this deal turned a nice profit.

I had been trying to trade up to get him, but nobody would bite during the draft during the late 2nd-early 3rd.

I'm sure I could have gotten him a little cheaper if I hadn't been asleep at the wheel after that point, but so it goes.

I've got him valued as a solid 2nd rounder this year and he's been creeping up my board.

Never a better year for it than this year. I have been involved in and also watch a few FFPC PPR Dynasty rookie drafts. I actually saw Bell go pick 1 in one of them, and he went pick 8 in another. Saw Patterson as high as 2, and as low as 10. Ball all over the place, Lacy all over the place. Austin usually going top 3.

The top 7-8 have been pretty much all the same, except each draft they seem to be in some kind of random order.

So I would think there is a realistic chance at pick 4 you get the same guy you would have wanted at pick 1. And even if you don't, the talent gap is minimal to non-existent anyway.

I like it. I watched Harper fall for literally a round and a half after I would have taken him, and tried trading up for him all along the way whenever a pick wasn't pre-drafted on MFL. The problem was that all I had for appropriate trade pieces were a ton of 2015 3rds I've randomly accumulated, because my team is really top-heavy. So I basically watched him fall until someone looked past rookie fever enough to accept one of those 2015 3rds for a 2013 5th rounder. I was ecstatic but watching him fall, having every trade offer I made get rejected, and then waiting for each pick to come in for a round and a half was nerve-wracking.The weird thing was when I traded up for the pick, four different owners were like "Great pick! I've been trying to trade up for him for forever!" So five of us were all trying to trade up for probably 15 picks for this guy, but no one would budge amidst rookie fever as they all had "their guys" they just had to have, until I got lucky at 5.1. Rookie drafts are funny things.

In a zealots league (non ppr) I dealt my 2014 3rd rounder in next years draft (anticipate it being a latter half of the round pick) for Michael Floyd.

Really all depends where those picks are projected to be, but I am not a Wallace guy at all, so even if they all project late I probably prefer the picks side. But if yu can win now and need those players for starters/depth, not a bad move unless those are really all the picks you have the next two years, though at least Murray and Wallace are young
3 of the 4 firsts should be playoff teams (the one that isn't is in 2015).The rest are a mix of early and late.In 16 teams those late firsts could essentially be seconds though those wouldn't be the two players I'd target if I had those picks.

This is exactly why I accepted the deal. I like Harper, but couldn't pass up the value here.

If I recall correctly, EBF also offered me a projected lower second rounder from '14 while I was OTC (or soon after) that I rejected.

This is not even close - the picks. I'm not saying to use the picks but they can be used to trade for better players than Murray and Wallace.

So he is a nobody? Gotcha.

Most of the leagues I play in have smaller roster (20 max) so he doesnt look like a guy I can even roster this year. Maybe in the other league I am in, who knows
He's not a nobody if you bother to actually try and learn about him. That's nice that you play in 20 max roster leagues but most of us do not. Just because he isn't relevant to your league doesn't make him irrelevant. Instead of just dismissing his response to you, you might want to actually look him up and learn about him, especially since Carroll has already stated he's standing out in rookie camp.

Unless you know everything, which seems to be the case with some responses of yours.

PFW had him rated as its WR9 ahead of Bailey, Dobson, Wheaton, Goodwin, Boyce, Robinson and Swope.

Just had a bunch go down in 1 of my leagues: These are all from the same "Team A" who just won last year

Team A trades: Brandon Marshall and Christian Ponder

Team B trades: Torrey Smith, 1.6, 1.10, 4.1

Team A trades (same as the first team A): DeSean Jackson and Heath Miller

Team B trades: 1.2

Team A trades: Roethlisberger, 1.10, 3.01, 4.01

Team B trades: Dalton, Dwayne Allen, 3.5

But he can't roster him in his league so he is a nobody. Got it?

...and he will keep on winning if he keeps getting trades like this

Right. Immediately after you said "So he is a nobody? Gotcha" in response to someone trying to help you learn about someone you didn't know about. I'm quite chill, "chief".

Reread your post without that 1st line and it's a perfectly acceptable post. That's all you needed to post. Throw in your "so he's a nobody" line and you look like a snobby know-it-all that can't be bothered with players that don't pertain to you and that you don't know about.

Well to be fair to my comment, neither link realy gave any info worthwhile

You could be the only guy in your 20 man league that even knows Chris Harper is a real person.
