2014 Coach Otis All-Value Team <(^v^)> (2 Viewers)

As a loyal Hawkscreech subscriber for years now, I have just forfeited my first few games of the season. I like to give my league mates the feeling that they have a chance. I usually start to field Oats guys by week 4 and ride it to championship. Might wait until week 6 this year.

Confidence is high, repeat...confidence is high.

I know what you're thinking. Why would I want a rookie RB on the Cleveland Browns? You want a rookie RB on the Cleveland Browns because he's really strong and really fast and is going to stun you with the way he adjusts to the speed of the NFL.

I don't have much of anything to tell you other than "trust me." Rather than have some clever joke about the guy who will be the best rookie RB this year, I just thought I'd post his draft writeup:

Solidly-built throughout with good muscle build to shake off defenders. Smooth hips and lower body to stay balanced, working off and around blocks well with a good combination of power and foot quickness. Physical, tough and lowers his pads to finish through contact. Good vision, patience and natural feel as a ballcarrier to press the hole and attack the line of scrimmage, following his blocks. Strong cuts and breaks tackles at all levels . A chore to tackle. Good speed and won't slow down at the second level with long strides in the open field. Workhorse and wears down defenses. Sexy as all get-out and probably will steal your girlfriend. Catches the ball well (31 career catches). Strong work ethic and devoted to the game with his head on straight, keeping his eyes on the prize. Extremely productive career (led the team in rushing each of the last three seasons) and leaves Towson as the school's all-time leading rusher (4,854), setting FCS single-season records in 2013 for rushing yards (2,509) and rushing touchdowns (41).

At RB39 off the board, what you're getting here is a guy who will come from behind to lead the rookie RB class and finish the season as the #10-15 RB overall.

Top 15 RB finish
the Hawk move may have been to add the Crow

McCown (top 7) - Benched. Currently QB 31 and dropping.

Ingram (RB 8-12 finish) - Injured. Currently RB 36 and dropping.

West (top 15 finish) - Currently RB 30. Firmly behind Tate and splitting carries with Crowell.

Austin (WR 35-40 finish) - Currently WR 49 but has had a bye. This call may have some legs.

Hunter (top 30) - Currently WR 45.

Holmes (top 30) - Currently WR 66. Looking bleak.

Vereen (RB 12-15 finish) - currently RB 29 with West nipping at his heels.

Green (TE 5 over the second half) - Currently TE 39 although Oats wasn't predicting the first half of the season. That said, Oats felt taking him at TE15 was a Hawk move. The Vulture move was to pick him up off the waiver wire after the Hawk's cut him for Owen Daniels.

Cutler (top 5) - Props on this one, currently top 3.

All of a sudden some of these guys might hit OTIS's predictions:

Vereen - injury to Ridley should boost his numbers

Holmes - Carr chucking the ball all over the field. game this past week

Ingram - should be back this week.

Coach Oats about cutting him - "Only 10 teams. But it doesn't matter. The point is that he's not a difference maker in all but very deep leagues. He's not going to win you anything. He'll need you a few points some weeks, but you're fighting for mediocre there. I've learned in my years of doing this that upside wins. Let me cut that mediocre dead weight and take a shot at what could be the next Alfred Morris or Keenan Allen. That's how you win.

It's a difference between competing and winning."

McCown (top 7) - QB34 but he's playing again.

Ingram (RB 8-12 finish) - Injured. Currently RB 13. Safe to say the Coach nailed this one.

West (top 15 finish) - Currently RB 31. Might be possible if Crowell or Tate go down, but not looking promising.

Austin (WR 35-40 finish) - Currently WR 59. Momentum plummeting.

Hunter (top 30) - Currently WR 63.

Holmes (top 30) - Currently WR 40. Looking possible.

Vereen (RB 12-15 finish) - up into the teens from RB29 when Oats cut him.

Green (TE 5 over the second half) - Currently TE 69 over the second half.

Cutler (top 5) - Fallen off the cliff to QB8

Currently batting 1 for 10. Counting Vereen as two swings, the miss when Oats owned him and whatever happens going forward.

Well there's always next year.

Except for me. I re-financed my house to play in high-money leagues with these picks. See you in Mexico, amigos.

Premiero out.

McCown (top 7) - QB30

Ingram (RB 8-12 finish) - Holding at RB13. Touch and go here

West (top 15 finish) - Currently RB 33. Starting to slip further.

Austin (WR 35-40 finish) - Currently WR 55. Momentum stalled.

Hunter (top 30) - Currently WR 63.

Holmes (top 30) - Currently WR 58 and falling.

Vereen (RB 12-15 finish) - up to RB 23 from RB 29 when Oats cut him.

Green (TE 5 over the second half) - Currently TE 57 over the second half.

Cutler (top 5) - Fallen off the cliff to QB9

Currently batting 0 for 10. Counting Vereen as two swings, the miss when Oats owned him and whatever happens going forward.

Otis is like the Honey Boo Boo show of the SP.

Nobody takes him seriously, but watching the schtick-covered trainwreck-meets-dumpster fire every year can be perversely entertaining.

Just read Austin to the IR.

As a Panther fan hopefully Coach is all over Brees, Graham, Julio, Ryan next year.

I'm stalling the league's draft but the guys are starting to ##### about my excuses. Come on O, tell me what I need to know!

I don't even make picks in the first 6 rounds anymore. I just start picking up Coach Otis's picks in round 7 and up and the championship belts start rolling in. :coffee:
