New Orleans trades? or did you mean Philly at 10?

Cliffs Notes for guys who haven't done much prep?
What was a four-horse race for the #1 pick (Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Julius Randle) became a two-horse race when Randle had surgery and Embiid got cursed by a Ghanaian witch doctor. Then Parker spent his offseason at Beef-O-Brady's, put on 20 pounds of fat, and couldn't throw a stone into the lake at his Cleveland workout.

Perceived to be a very talented and deep draft, so it's expected to be a lively draft night with more trades than usual.

People were right -- Exum wasn't get picked part pre-draft. Now, the draft is here....

Do you really have the confidence to grab him? Funny how things come full circle.

Should be really interesting who takes the leap. After Anthony Bennett last year, I'm not putting anything past Cleveland.

1. CLE: Wiggins

2. MIL: Parker

3. PHI: Vonleh

4. ORL:Exum

5. UTA: Embiid

6. BOS: Smart

7. LAL: McDermott ( :banned: )

8. SAC: Gordon

9. CHA: Stauskas

10. PHI: Randle

11. DEN: Lavine

12. ORL: Napier

13: MIN: Harris

14: PHX: Hood

I think Randle falls, and Napier climbs.

I didn't say he wasn't athletic. I said he wasn't athletic enough to be a big time player. I compared him to patrick patterson - a power forward with range.

I didn't say he couldn't shoot. I said his shot was inconsistent and actually praised him as being a bit overlooked.

Marcus Smart is a trap.Stauskas is better than McBuckets.

Napier is better than being given credit for.

Too many people are spooked by TJ Warren. The guy makes plays, it doesn't matter if it isn't always pretty.

That's a start.

Does Adam Silver get booed at the start? By the time the first round is winding down? Not at all?
Considering he's coming off an awesome postseason and kicking Donald Sterling out of the league, I think he gets cheered.

Would love it if Silver came out to announce a pick, then David Stern's entrance music starts playing, and Stern emerges from behind the curtain and gets showered with boos.

Just weird knocks for a guy like you that's watchd them since Payne is pretty athletic and Harris is a pretty good knock down shooter.

If you had said Payne isn't a good help defender or his jumper is too slow, I'd have been with you. Or if you said Harris is undersized to be a 2 and doesn't get to the rim much, I'd have nodded along.

Athlete!

@WojYahooNBA: Aaron Gordon is almost assuredly to be drafted before forwards Noah Vonleh and Julius Randle, front office sources tell Yahoo.

Chris Grant and his trying to be smarter than everyone else act is not there anymore. Whether that means better decisions or not, who know, but the unknown is better than known suck.

BTW, who knew Capela was black?

NBADraft.net scouting report:

NBA Comparison: Ian Mahinmi/Amir JohnsonStrengths: Capela is as good as any athlete ever coming from Europe ... What really separates him is his explosiveness around the rim ... He isn’t scared of contact and can really finish above the rim with one of two hands ... He also can really run the floor on finding easy layups and dunks in transition ... Capela is still a very raw talent with a lot of upside, but has also developed solid instinct, particularly on the defensive end ... He also makes passes you would not expect from a player like him ... His ability to finish around the rim is pretty good, which makes him a very dangerous player on Pick and Roll situation and circling around the basket ... Defensively he is very quick, with good lateral movement and when locked in he can really be aggressive showing on pick and roll but also in switching situations ... In a good day he can be absolutely dominant in the paint at the European level, and with focus could become an above average NBA defender over time ...

Weaknesses: The biggest knock on Capela is his lack of basketball IQ ... He frequently appears lost and often wants to make plays without understanding what is going on around him ... He also should be an absolute monster due to his physical attributes but can lack aggressiveness on both ends of the court ... Instead he shows laziness, playing behind opposing big men in the post when he should fight to deny entry pass or simply not getting into a low defensive stance on the perimeter ... In addition his defensive technique on the block lacks fundamentals, many times two dribbles are enough to push him under the basket and finish over him ... For a raw, very unskilled player like him, at this moment of his career, effort should always be stellar to compensate for his weaknesses ... Too many times he is lazy on P&R situations, on calling the screens and even on running back on defense ... Another very evident problem is his lack of strength around the basket where, even with his apparently very strong body, he is far too easily pushed around by much smaller opponents ... He does not get enough boards, considering his great size and athleticism, his lack of technique hurts his productivity considerably ... You can get away with that in the French League, but not in a League where players like Kenneth Faried would literally go around him every single time on the offensive glass ... On the skill side there is obviously a lot of work to do ... His shooting mechanics need to be rebuilt from scratch. The same is true for his post moves, where he has shown quickness and the ability to go over both shoulders but lacks a true go to move. Has the physical tools, but needs to be smarter, more focused and play hungrier for the entire 40 minutes ... Offensively he must use his strength to make deep catches in order to finish until he will build a reliable offensive arsenal ...

@EliotShorrParks: Two league sources told me that the #Sixers and #Cavaliers are still discussing a deal for the No. 1 pick. "Still could happen"

Would be a lot of fun to see McDermott come in and shoot a great % and see how Kobe would respond.

I thought that Bennett, and many other questionable things, were mainly Gilbert's meddling.

Nope. Bennett was Mike Brown. Waiters was Byron Scott.

crazy he is looked at as a better prospect than Randle.
I don't see Randle as a great prospect. If he's not going to be a great defender or stretch the floor, then his upside seems limited in today's game.

He's not going to be a fit on a lot of teams.

I'm not a huge fan of Gordon either though.
