*2015-16 EPL Fantasy - Season Over - Rule Changes for next season (1 Viewer)

Since some were asking, can this be changed?

Aug 4, 2015, 3:34 PM

Automatically put players on waivers

Before the start of the first game on Saturday

Before the start of their respective games each day.

Can dropped players just go to FA pool so they can be picked up that same week (eliminates the need for a second waiver run to get these players and these are guys being dropped anyway)?
Players are available until their game starts.

I don't know about dropped players - don't think we allowed it last year. I am not opposed, but also not sure if we can do it.
I'm not sure about this... Unless I was doing it wrong, I tried picking up a guy who was at least starting for his side today, but wasn't able to make the pickup. When I hit submit, the pending transaction screen showed it as a waiver claim for next thursday. But then I saw on the league page that there were some transactions this morning, so I must've done something wrong.

This was the note I saw this morning:

Current Free Agent Claim System: Automated Priority Order. It will change to Free for all (1st come 1st serve) on Thu Aug 13, 6:00 PM EDT.

Free agent pickups were locked at the start of the ####-Spurs game
ahh, thanks. I thought it was like MFL where you can pickup anyone until the start of their individual game. So, it will lock at the start of the first game of the weekend?

No, he fixed it so that it will be for individual games from here on out.

ETA--Hmm, looks like it was changed on Aug 4th so it should have been fine this morning. Here is the log change:

Damn Wenger. Why you starting Giroud over Walcott?

I hate you but didn't realize you hate me as well.

Should have never drafted a gooner in the first round.

-1 for yellows just sucks.
I already said this. Unpredictable and really means nothing in the scheme of things.

ETA--My team currently has 3 yellow cards. That's over 10% of my scoring and is the equivalent of 6 goals scored against any of my defenders and almost the value of a goal scored by a striker. Just dumb.
Also sitting on 3 yellows. With only 13.66 points.

Stupid that yellows are so punitive.

And a loss by 0.333 because of the extra yellow.

Dumb.

BTW, where's your ####### money Shader???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Damn. Just noticed you were referring to my matchup. I blame the stupid yellow card rule and Wenger not starting Walcott.

Ok - looking at the settings agains this morning, and I am going to make the following changes to the settings:

1. Set FA to 1st come, 1st served. It is currently set as "Automated priority order" - I think this was the issue for FAs after the 1st game of the weekend. This should not affect Waivers - that is a separate setting.

2. Waiving Dropped/New Players - Change from processing on Specific Day to "After Selected # of Days" in this case 1 day. What this should do is place dropped players on waivers for 24 hours - any team can claim that player during the 24 hours, and it will be processed like a normal waiver claim. This should give everyone an opportunity to grab a player - rather than whoever happens to be online when the player is dropped. Realistically, this will have no effect on most players dropped on Saturday morning - they will revert to bulk waivers once their game starts, and be processed on Thursday.

Do we want to move waivers up from Thursday to Wednesday (same time)?

Starting this week, the league will have an occasional game on Friday - this week it is ManUtd @ Aston Villa - moving Waivers up a day, may give you more time to get you team sorted.

Wednesdays are fine with me but we may have to delay the change until next week if we don't get consensus by late tomorrow.

ETA: There are a number of scheduled Wednesday fixtures with probably some more to be added later but the games will be complete by 6PM EST

What's the most points ever scored in a 'regular' week? Coz my team is loaded this year and I expect to challenge the record on a recurring basis.

56 pts this week and didnt even get anything from Hazard. :nerd:

Last year - the highest scoring team in week 1, ended with the 3rd lowest total for the year :coffee:

Sure, because you're going to score 56 every week. :lmao: I scored 42 with a combined 1.5 between Terry, Baines & Alderweireld.

Not surprising at all.

Oh, btw, you did not score 56 points this week....

I did not change the date of waivers - they are still set to run tomorrow at 6:00 ET

There may be some unintended consequences of the other rule changes though...I changed the settings on dropped players to 24 hours on waivers - but that also includes newly added players. So, there is a chance some players maybe FAs before waivers run tomorrow.

If that happens, I will manually put them back on waivers - hopefully to run as scheduled with the remaining players. I am hopeful that the newly added players will remain on waivers until all claims are processed.

It looks like the players who were dropped last week are free agents and everybody else is on waivers until 9PM Thursday. Bakary Sakho is the oddball because he was added to the squad late by the commissioner and then dropped before kickoff. I think Fantrax considers this churning and since he wasn't on the roster long enough, he goes on waivers instead of being available.

The bottom line girls, Andy Carroll is available right now.

I'll put them all on waivers later this morning. Looks to be 6 players.

Goal officially given to David Silva, looks like I will not get credit for it on Fantrax, my score is the same. Didn't affect the outcome of the game, hopefully it doesn't mean anything at the end of the year.

So it looks like once scores are in there are no stat changes to worry about.

Claims processed tonight. A couple of glitches in the matrix that I noticed before claims - a handful of players ~14-15 were FAs before waivers ran - none were big names, I should have written them down, the only one I recall was Aaron Lennon.

The players who were dropped tonight should be on waivers for 24-hours - and be processed - we'll see if that happens. I tried to make a trial claim, and it said it would be processed for period 3.
