How was it? I've seen Purity Ring twice and they've been a great show each time. Never seen Glass Animals, haven't been able to "get into" their music yet.I'm going to see Purity Ring tonight in Boulder and Glass Animals tomorrow in Denver. It should be a trippy psychedelic couple of days. And I'm expecting the crowd to be packed wall-to-wall with sexy young women.
Thanks. Greatly appreciate it. This isn't my music wheelhouse but always enjoy expanding my horizons. Saw Manson last year and he was atrocious. I'll make a point to hit Sevendust, clutch, and all that remains.Assuming you will be checking out the headliners on Saturday (Slipknot/Shinedown), I will concentrate on the others.Skip Manson, he is an overweight mess.Going to aftershock this weekend. Any particular acts I need to check out?

Breaking Benjamin consistently crushes it. Radio hit heavy of course, but the new lineup really re-energized them. Used to be snooze fest.
Speaking of snooze fest and radio hits, Seether brings both of those. They won't blow you away, but you know what you are getting.
BMTH surprised me both times I saw them, harder then they sound on the radio.
Rest of them are worth a few minutes of your time, just don't miss Clutch or All That Remains.
I am into the harder stuff, so I will leave Sunday to someone else, but do not miss Sevendust, that's all I ask of you. Never been big into the Deftones, but they put on a good show. The Sword has some good stuff on SIRIUS, but never seen them live.

I saw Halestorm at Rock on the Range in 2013 and they were great. Didn't know much about them at all but them and Volbeat where the two bands I knew little about that impressed me.Saw Halestorm at HoB in Vegas over the weekend. Great rock show from start to finish. Started with an acoustic set for about 45 mins. Then 2 hours unplugged.
I've seen a lot of shows in my time, but for just pure fun, screaming at the top of your lungs, this was in my top 10 for sure. Getting a meet and greet with the sexy Lzzy Hale and the rest of the band didn't hurt the experience.
I really regret not seeing Paul at GABP in 2011. He's a legend and can't believe I passed.Saw Sir Paul McCartney last night in Detroit. Was not on my concert list but a friend called and had a couple extra tickets. I would not have paid 220.00 each but for free it was well worth it.
It was a very entertaining show. Played 41 songs and many early Beatle songs.
Yeah, Purity Ring put on a great show up in Boulder. I've seen them perform twice as well, and they always put on a really fun, trippy show that is well-complimented by their crazy 3D light show. How was it? They came through Buffalo on November 14 but I was out of town. :(So July Talk in Detroit was awesome, as usual. They played 3 new songs from the upcoming album. What was a total surprise was the opening act...called Little Hurricane. Two piece band, ala White Stripes, with a guitar and female drummer. They are much more bluesy then the WS, but they brought it. Met them after the show, and they are very cool people also. From San Diego.
Check this song here of their from Youtube:
Crocodile Tears by Little Hurricane
This show was great. I would assume it was recorded, but I cannot find a download anywhere. If anyone knows where I could get a copy of this show I'd appreciate it.Just got tix for Jeff Tweedy solo show at Park West next Friday. Never seen him solo, just with Wilco, should be fantastic.
I did before the flood and Folk Festival which happens in the same spot.. It's a great time. Run by the same folks who do Telluride Bluegrass - so it is well run. It sits is along the banks of the Poudre river in Lyons - you can hang out in the stream and cool off nicely. You can tube down the river just outside of town up towards the Canyon down into town. There is a big Shed at one end for the stage - it got rebuilt after the flood so I haven't seen the new one. Lyons is just north of Boulder - be aware traffic can be a bit crazy around the grounds. You typically park way down the street at the park and walk. Lyons is home to Oskar Blues - Dale's Pale Ale birthplace. Good beers.Has anyone attended Rockygrass in Lyons, CO?
Do not miss rival sons the opening act. Those guys are goodJust picked up Black Sabbath Final Tour tickets for the February 2016 show at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
