**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (3 Viewers)

The Royals are the biggest bunch of #####es.

Seriously - Ventura is mad that someone hit a ground ball to him?

#### the Royals.
While Eaton was adjusting himself between pitches, Ventura got the green light from the ump to fire away. So Ventura quick-pitched Eaton, and Eaton barely got it together in time and grounded back to the mound. Eaton was swearing at Ventura while jogging out the grounder, complaining about quick-pitching him. Ventura took a moment to stay something back before throwing to first, and it was on.

Tempers were flaring from an exchange of HBPs earlier in the game, too.

Sounds like Waino out for the year.
This is my sad face ----> :) Sucks for the Cardinals and Waino
Funny, that's the same sad face I have every September when I check off another season of hopeless Cubs futility. 106, 107, 108......
Thats a winner
Enjoying injuries and mockingly tossing about the catch phrase of dead broadcasters. Ugh.

Didn't you guys get traded to the Twins fanbase in the Tre/Frosty blockbuster last off-season?

Holy Cow

That's fair. What good is a rivalry without a little joy over the other's sorrow? I'm probably going to have to watch Catching Hell today to cheer myself up.

Gonna be tough to replace him. Lance Lynn is a workhorse who can take on the role of number-1 starter, but is too moody to be the clubhouse leader Waino is.

For the new guy in the rotation... the season has started so Jaime Garcia is hurt. Lefty Marco Gonzales is a former first-round pick who spent some time with the big club last season, but is also hurt right now. So I imagine the club is going to call up Tyler Lyons, a big lefty who looks the part of starting pitcher but hasn't brought it all together in the show.

After dealing both Shelby Miller and Joe Kelly over the last year, the team doesn't seem to be in a good spot to trade for a front-of-rotation guy right now. Best bet is probably hoping Carlos Martinez delivers on his potential this season.

Settle down, I was being sarcastic. Waino going down is bad for baseball. Obviously I don't want to ever see anyone get injured, no matter what team thy play for.

Kris Bryant too

There's a LH available in Philly for you Cards fans.
Wonder what RAJ would want in return. Do the Cards have enough to get it done?
I don't know if they have the blue chip prospects that RAJ is demanding, but I do know they always have baseball players, and the Phils need a lot of them right now.
Red Sox and Dodgers have more blue chip prospects. Cardinals have more young talent on the major-league roster.

It would be off-brand for the Cardinals to trade for a guy in the middle of a long big-money contract like Hamels. But losing their workhorse ace for the year in April of a season with championship aspirations changes things a bit. Too early to trade for walk-year SPs, don't want to give up a trade chip in a small deal that could be key to closing a bigger trade.

In anything, Waino's injury has to help Philly's asking price for Hamels. Certainly doesn't hurt it.

Lyons has FIPped pretty well in his big league stints.

I think the Cardinals will be content to try Lyons/Gonzales/Garcia(?) in that rotation spot until the deadline and then reassess the situation.
